Le Bon Ton

Pretty disappointed with my experience at Le Bon Ton. The food was good but was served so quickly you just wonder how long it was sitting in the bain-marie or it just warmed in the microwave.
To be hit with a card fee when its the only paying option is a joke

Don't let its pub like exterior fool you. Energie cajun/creole food is fantastic and a great mix of drinks available too.

I love this place but something has changed lately (yes I come here too often). The burgers tasted less smokey lately: (also the mushroom burger has lost some love.it’s used to have a punch

Service wasn’t very good. The meal came out from the kitchen but the wait staff didn’t bring cutlery or plates, we had to ask twice. The food doesn’t have the same smoky flavour it used to have, something is not right.

Beautiful decor and cool vibe. I found the food quite heavy but that's just a personal opinion. It was tasty. The winner for me were the oysters and drinks were great.

I booked this for my partner, the food was average, unfortunately the service was a difficult experience, the waiter had really bad b.o, i think it is important for managers to have a chat with staff as this really took away from the experience.

Great food, great atmosphere.

The staff is friendly.

I love their brisket which has very complex layers of flavours. The fat part was particularly tasty.

The macaroni and cheese is very delicious too. (Too many other dishes I haven't tried yet!)

Great American style food and drinks and yummy desserts! Cute venue, not the pub you expect from the outside. Would definitely go again

The meal was okay, tasty enough, but they're not exactly large serves.
Whilst not being really expensive (high $$), when you consider what you get for the money, it's overpriced.
This place is probably best described as a hipsters' paradise.
Staff were all pretty friendly, but the hard furnishings made the place really noisy - don't go here for a quiet conversation!
The tables are also pretty close together, so plenty of eavesdropping options for some folk.

Not my scene. A little too cool for school and overlooked the basics. Good food and responsive service.

The atmosphere is great in this little (ok it is pretty big) smokehouse, though the food hasn't quite impressed for a couple of times now. I'd still give it a go for a good group for the atmosphere however, just don't be expecting too much from the food.

Open till like 6am on weekends + awesome beer garden. Perfect if you've got a group of friends who wanna chat rather than dance

Amazing smoked meats. Great selection of sides. Visiting Melbourne and my brother took us here- the reservation made online had not registered but the hostess was very helpful and found us a table quickly. Good selection of beer and cocktails but the food was the standout.

Up there with the best burgers I've ever had - everything else was solid too - including great beer selection.

We where a little back footed when we arrived, as this kid friendly place looked like a pub.how wrong was i? After being seated by the great staff member, and being given insight into the beer offering, we ordered. The food was great, fried chicken being my highlight. After the meal, I was sure they got the bill wrong, as we clearly ordered and ate/drank well more than $200 worth. 4 adults 3 kids.

Amazing American BBQ and their cheeseburger is one of the best in Melbourne. Le Bon Ton is very cozy and a great date spot.

The food is yummy, especially chips with sauce, but the place looks a bit weird. They try to make it like a cowboy themed restaurant, but I don't think they achieved it.

Poor service last night. Table of 4, and in the 2 hours we were dining we had one offer of drinks at the start and that's it. It was disappointing, as we have had good experiences here in the past. Also, from a business perspective I don't think it's wise to have your voodoo halloween stuff, as you risk alienating clientele who didn't know it was on and are not interested in being subjected to this. If you're going to go there, keep it playful and avoid the voodoo and witchcraft. I don't think we will be back, sorry.

I have been here quite a lot over the past six+ years with family/friends/work colleagues and have not been disappointed in the food or service. In fact, I held a Christmas function for about 30 people here a number of years ago and not one complaint about the food, venue or pricing was made post celebration, which is a rarity when it comes to function get-togethers. Over the years, the staff have always been friendly and the proportions of food more than adequate (still usually end up ordering too much tho!).

I ate there again last Monday night with family and want to give a special thanks to Floris for his attentive and friendly service and the special attention he gave to meeting a family member's request. Looking forward to the next visit.

As an aside, I feel I should comment on Michael Attwood's review of a few days ago. While not big fans of Halloween, no one at my table found reference to it offensive at all. Based on his thinking it sounds like the venue should also make no reference to Christmas in fear of offending people of other faiths or non-religious people. Also, I think it is a bit unfair for him to give the venue only one star and saying they won't be back again after only one bad experience, especially when he indicated that they previously had good experiences there other times. I hope you give them another go.

Great ambience. Feels great with vintage settings. The place has a great character and is welcoming. Staff is friendly and food is great. Its quite a big restaurant inside. Well priced so won't hurt your pocket too much.
