Lazeez Indian Restaurant reviews
43They won't even answer the phone and then the butter chicken container was only half full. I've also been told a different price by the delivery driver as too what they told me on the phone.
From the moment I discovered this gem, tucked away unassumingly amidst a quaint residential neighborhood, I knew I was in for a culinary adventure. Truly, it is with unadulterated delight that I pen this review for what I can only describe as the finest Indian restaurant I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing.
What initially struck me was the restaurant's unassuming appearance - a beacon of authenticity amidst its suburban surroundings. However, behind its modest façade lies a treasure trove of flavors that transport you straight to the heart of India.
As for the food, it's nothing short of spectacular. The menu, a well-curated amalgamation of regional Indian dishes, offers a culinary journey from the spicy flavors of the North to the tangy delights of the South. The restaurant's takeaway service, my personal choice on this occasion, did not compromise the quality or the presentation of the food, making for an exquisite home dining experience.
Each dish was a celebration of flavors. The Butter Chicken was a symphony of creamy, tomato-based gravy with tender pieces of chicken that melted in my mouth. The Korma, creamy and rich, was a perfect balance of aromatic spices and succulent pieces of beef. The Naan was soft, warm, and buttery, a perfect accompaniment to mop up the delectable sauces.
But it was not just the food that stole the show. The service, even for takeaway, was top-notch. The staff was friendly, accommodating, and took the time to explain the nuances of the dishes. The packaging was eco-friendly and ensured the food stayed warm and intact, mirroring the care and attention they pay to the cuisine.
Despite its location, the word "compromise" seems to be missing from this establishment's vocabulary. They have managed to create a true Indian dining experience, rich in flavor and authenticity, all the way from their kitchen to the comfort of your home.
In conclusion, this restaurant is a true testament to the richness and diversity of Indian cuisine. It's a hidden treasure that promises an unforgettable gastronomic journey. Whether you're a seasoned lover of Indian food or a curious first-timer, this place should unquestionably be on your culinary bucket list.
Food is exceptionally good. Butter chicken and Paneer malai Methi was amazing. Not very oily and my kid loved it. Whole meal roti needs improvement as it was a little dry but overall great experience and good customer service. I will surely visit this place again.
We ordered takeaway and whilst it certainly took its time arriving, the food was extremely delicious (or maybe we were just really hungry). Succulent chicken pieces, outstanding sauces, delectable naan- I was loving every mouthful albeit it didn’t particularly agree with me later on!
We got the $55 meal deal which could definitely feed three or four (thin) people. We couldn’t manage it the 2 of us but figured we may as well spend an extra $15 over and above what we would have ordered to get the additional dishes. I found the a la carte pricing also far more reasonable than other Indian restaurants and they didn’t skimp on the serving size to compensate either.
Took away their supposedly most popular Family Feast which includes 3 curries out of which 2 are fixed (butter chicken and mixed veg), you get to choose only one curry; chicken tikka (but the menu says Chicken Tandoori, so we had to request it to change it to Tandoori) ; 2 naan, papad.
Their website says $55 for the Family Feast (as on 17-Mar-23) but they charge $60 - a bit weird.
All their curries have a sweetish taste which made me worried.butter chicken was way too sweet (like horribly.even my 7 years daughter couldn't eat it for it being too sweet), Lamb pieces in the Lamb Bhuna Ghosht weren't tender at all.
Chicken Tandoori didn't have a good marination and hence couldn't kill the raw taste of the chicken too.
Samosa are freshly made and hence were a bit too oily although the taste was good.
Staff is nice.
The entrance as well as the car park are too deserted.couldn't find it welcoming.
Overall, I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Its old with absolutly no love put into it, very strange awkward vibe with absolutely dead silent atmosfer. They even had the Cook's answering the phones while some weird manager just stood there and stared at u with an angry look. Although food was good they were overloading the demand for the cooks by making them take orders as well as trying to cook the food while management did absolutely nothing. It's a deadbeat place but I feel sorry for the Chefs there.
Value for money, good staff.
Hope service and taste remains good.
Toilet can be made better. Hygiene matters.
Excellent food and service catering for all. Definitely a must try for anyone who has a taste for Indian cuisine. For those living in the Croydon / Ringwood area try out Lazeez's sister restaurant 'Royal Punjab'. More of the great food that is expected when you eat at Lazeez.
Still the best
This restaurant is a hidden gem in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Always consistent with their food, delivering wonderful flavours and generous portions. I live nearly 20 minutes away and are always happy to travel the distance for the quality. The one very minor issue is getting their waiting times a little more accurate. My family and I love this place!
Delicious indian food. The vegetable samosa was really good. Tandoori mushroom was more like butter mushroom but it was still good.
Good local find amongst Bayswater’s surprisingly good range of restaurants. Ate in recently one Friday night with family rather than take out. We were the only diners but a lot of take out and delivery orders went out, maybe because there was a big Footy game in at the time! This may explain why our food took quite a long time to arrive at the table, hence 4 stars.
But when it did the chicken madras, Goan fish curry and Bhuna beef were excellent along with potato bonda and garlic roti. Perhaps a tad under seasoned but otherwise very good. $80 for those dishes plus 2 x steamed rice for 4 people was good value. We will eat there again.
Everytime I call this restaurant, they always say that we closed early today or we are not taking any orders. Then you guys need to change the timing on your website. Coz it says closed by 10 not 9. This is not the first time it happened.
I liked this restaurant but today when I ordered my food they confirmed the order and after 40 minutes they cancelled it. When I called them and asked why my order was cancelled then the person told me that the restaurant is closed but it was still open and then he hang up the call. Worst resturant experience.
I'll never recommend it to anyone.
The best Indian takeaway restaurant I ever come across. The best value and the best flavour for me! Ever since i moved out of Bayswater I travel to get some takeaways every now and then! Consistency is always there!
Delicious curries, fine bread. This restaurant is a hidden gem and one of the best I've eaten from.and I've tried numerous restaurants across Melbourne. Recommend that you order early, as they do take a while to cook the food, but it's definitely worth the wait.
One of the best Indian restaurant i have tried near by and if u felling to try the indian taste and good food really try them once better then any other restaurant you would try.
First time at Lazeez and was great, will be a regular. Good flavour and good value as well.
Thanks
Ordered here the other night, the pakoras were delicious. We also ordered mild butter chicken and chicken korma, both of these dishes were dull, flavourless and both tasted like pumpkin soup with a slight hit of spice.
Last night i have ordered vegetarian mixed vegetable and 4 butter Naans.
Mixed vegetable was very delicious, 1 butter naan out of 4 naans was burnt. Hopefully next time I won't get any burnt naans.
The best Indian food in the east wouldn't bother with any of the others anymore generous serves always fresh, the lasso is nice too service with a smile as well recommend trying
