Absolutely appalled by Laurent today. I went in early 7am to buy some sour dough bread and when l went to pay with cash l was told we don't take cash anymore, have not for a couple of months. You have lost me and l can go across road to Leaf or Coles who are happy to still take CASH and get my sour dough. Sick to death of you Cafes and Retail outlets doing this. I have never been back to Lido cinema for same reason and will continue to call out every place that is refusing to use cash (

Honest review would be the savoury items were quite simply awful and tasted like they were from a factory. The unhappy experience was compounded by the hefty pricing of the items. Nice courtyard mind.

Its good but please bring back the old cakes, i miss having a variety, like bora bora and framoise petillante, or consider making more mousse cakes because they were so so good.

Pleas bring back monte carlo, bora bora, the long pink cake and all the other tasty cakes. I loved those so much but now there’s nothing and I’m so sad.

Amazing and delicious cakes, pastries, great coffee and sandwich. Everything always fresh bit expensive but totally worth it. You can get best experience of food, customer service and quality in everything. Love everything in Laurent. Must visit and try place in Melbourne.

Last week I ordered a roll and was told it was fresh that day. I found the bottom of the bun soggy and half the beef discoloured and icy.
I returned the slider and informed the server it seemed to be thawing, in a very dismissive and defensive tone she informed me she had made it herself and it had not been frozen, offered to toast the soggy bun for me. I said I no longer wanted it, she dismissed me without any other exchange of words.
I have been a regular at this Laurent for 12 years, unfortunately I will not be back.
Below par food and rude staff.

Absolutely amazing. I called and arranged a birthday cake order for a good friend from Sydney, and the staff and manager at Laurent Hawthorn were so accommodating, supportive and amazing. It felt effortless and my friend was blown away with the cake. The whole process was simple and quick. I would give them ten stars if I could!

The staff were friendly. The crossaints were nice, the hot coffees didn't taste good and were not even warm when they arrived. Toilets were dirty. Didn't have a french experience definitely not worth $20.

I don't really understand why Laurent is as popular as it is. The bread is good, but otherwise the cakes and savouries are very middling and expensive for their quality.

I was there today, nothing wrong with the food but the coffees were terrible.
I was ordering my food and had to pull my mask down a little so I can talk properly,
the service attendant was badly mannered and had a very controlling
voice/attitude to ask me to put my mask on nothing wrong to ask but.that doesn't give the right to treat people in an ill manner with a bad attitude.
I got really annoyed with her and voiced my opinion to my sisters.she went to the back/ kitchen and was talking about us to another stuff member, how very unprofessional.
The way she spoke to the barista was really blunt and rude.
She kicked him out of the coffee machine and started to make our coffees and I tell you what it was like she wanted to make our coffees taste so bad.
I couldn't even drink my coffee and had to throw it out.
Will never go back there again.

A great little place to have a coffee, French cake, and a light lunch.
The services was fast and friendly.
The food was tasty, and the coffee was strong.

As a lover of cakes, Laurent never disappoints. With branches scattered all over Melbourne, it’s always easy to pick up a cake from them.

️The sunny bits:
The Charlotte is my all time favourite cake from Laurent. With a perfect combination of raspberry, beetroot and sponge cake, it’s a beautiful looking cake. Swipe to see a close second - the citrus tart. Full of tangy curd in a lovely buttery biscuit base.

️The cloudy bits:
It can get a bit chaotic when they are busy but otherwise it’s all good.

The forecast:
I can never say no to cake especially if it’s from Laurent!

The food was ok, good even. But nothing special.

The staff seemed nice enough to me, maybe a little short, but they were a little busy at the time.

However, the coffee was so expensive for the size, and so very burnt. The coffee was so disappointing i couldn't finish it. I hate wasting coffee, but I just couldn't bring myself to finish it.

Not a bad place to grab a baked good or roll or pastrie, but I wouldn't recommend it if your after a coffee fix.

Brilliant service with a classic interior. Staff are friendly, welcoming and incredibly thoughtful. They saw that we were dining in for two and cut the pastries in half. Atmosphere is great as well! Definitely recommended the Berry Danish, so yummy.

Great bread & pastries, good coffee too, and great to see they are checking vaccination status for in-house meals

Very rude man that served my daughter and myself, won't be back unless I feel like being treated like a peasant who doesn't deserve to have a cake and coffee. Definitely be searching for any other Cafe in the future

Um I was there today nothing wrong with the food but.the service attendant was badly mannered a controlling look/voice to ask me for a vaccine certificate nothing wrong to ask but.that doesn't give the right to treat people in an ill manner however, applying kindness, courtesy goes a long way till our final days!

We were at MLC this morning for our son’s VCE Music performance exam and since we were not allowed in, we decided to walk to the nearby Glenferrie Rd shopping strip. Popped into this bakery and grabbed some takeaways. Previously we bought their products from Coles however the ones here taste better. Could have been 5 stars if only we can dine-in. Save this for another visit upon opening up soon.

Visited for coffee & cake.
The citrus tart at $8.90 was a bit expensive for its size I thought.
Coffee was nice.
It was a little disappointing that 2 tables held dirty dishes for the duration of my stay - approx 15 mins- although it wasn't busy and the tables were vacant when I arrived.

Best place for breakfast and evening coffee. I love quiche, Rubis and my soy cappuccino. It's the best soy cappuccino I had. Thank you for the best coffee ️️
