Laurent Bakery Balwyn

Our favourite bakery in the area by far. Very consistent and refined pastry and bread. Coffee is great. Service is also amazing and Maricor makes us feel at home.

The atmosphere was nice & relaxing. Store Manager of this branch was professional & polite when we wanted to change an item that was ordered wrongly.

Ordered an overpriced toasted egg & bacon ciabatta. It was toasted and hot on the outside but the egg in the middle was cold. I’m not exaggerating, it was chilled like it just came out of the fridge cold…. Yuck!

Expensive tea. $5.60 for a tea made with a tea bag! Only came here as nowhere else was open for coffee. Mug and saucer seemed dirty

Decent mid range bakery, has a variety of cakes and mini desserts. The almond croissant was a 3.8/5, a lil dry after it got heated up and around 5$.

We know that it’s hard to get staff on a public holiday. We know the cakes are good (except for huge amount of greenery in the salad roll) I’ve never seen such chaos, felt like helping, so cleared our table. They need someone to fix these issues as we will not be going back.
Please fix the back door, as it wouldn’t close…. Very cold to sit anywhere near there. Very poor for such a well respected “chain”, not personal any more.

The worst Laurent experience I ever had. The staff missed one of my orders and kept me waiting. After I went to check with them, they checked the order records, got it wrong again, and asked me to pay for the one item I was waiting for. After we figured it out and finally I got all my orders, that was almost 35 minutes passed. In the whole process, no staff even apologised for keeping me waiting. Seriously the staff need to be trained. The service was horrible. Bad attitude.

I ordered chicken sandwich and waited it to be toasted, after 10 minutes, one staff told me the chicken sandwich was sold out?

How come? When I was ordering there’s two left, then after 10 minutes that staff told me someone ordered before me. That was totally unacceptable, no one was line up at that time!

Only the staff forgot to toast my sandwich and give the sandwich to others after me.

Very disappointed and unprofessional service!

This store was cashless but have now reinstated cash! Excellent change of policy - hope you keep it this way - I love bringing my elderly mum in for lunch, we have been coming for years - happy to come back and have the option to use cash
A bit overpriced but nice variety

I love coming here. I would give it 5 stars but I am unable to sit outside due to the number of wasps outside flying on to your food and drinks. I am allergic to them, I had to sit inside

Great location on Whitehorse Road, Balwyn. Staff were all friendly and helpful deciding on what cake to eat. There is such a variety of cakes and savory, makes it impossible to decide as so much variety. If your looking for a cake for a special occasion there are such varieties to choose from. Prices may be a little expensive but one bite, then it's worth the price. Great coffee and great table service. Saw many locals having coffee and cake or if you want toasted sandwiches as well. Cappuccino was beautiful and such a variety of coffees and teas to choose from. Great fir a catch up with friends and such a great environment. Been to a few different Laurents, but this is my favourite one. Heaps os space to move around. Can't wait fir my next cake and coffee!

Bread was ok, can’t say it was fresh. Croissant was good but not amazing. How can a bakery not have a bread slicer?

None of the staffs smiles and the girl at the counter looked like she was forced to work here. Almond croissant was pretty good, but coffee was sort of overpowered by the milk, can barely taste any coffee

This was a great place! There were many sweet and savoury options to choose from which was great! The croissants were light and airy and looked stunning and the sandwich/baguette was delicious!
The staff were kind and the drinks were good as well. One thing I would say - a lady cut in front of us while waiting in the queue. I'm not sure if she didn't realise we were in the queue or she was just being rude but overall it was fine.

Unfortunately has gone backwards on service. Cakes are still good.

Staff used to be good and friendly. Staff are now rude and disorganized. One customer is told to wait in line at the cash register while another is served at the counter. No apology when they are told about their inconsistent service.

My son got there 5.54 and staff member said sorry we close 5.30

Appalling and very average services

Staff have terrible attitudes, either hire new staff or teach the current ones some basic customer service!

Everyday I purchase a skinny chai latte from Balwyn Laurent- today I came back to work with my chai latte and it tasted like milk and water only. Went back and the barista (lady) kept insisting I ordered a 'dirty chai', which I have never heard of. She was 'put out' to make another chai latte- LUKE WARM! Expensive mistake, but I couldnt be bothered going back!

Someone came late and jump in the queue. And got served first, which made me feel very uncomfortable.
When I pointed out, the staff told me since she is the only one working now. Excuse me? Is this a good excuse to serve people based on their nationality?

Nice quality coffee, cakes are excellent and fancy but not cheap, staff very caring and helpful.
