Launch Housing Collingwood reviews
20I'm with launch been in tiny unit in footscray I know of 2 people dying in launch houses one guy left for over a week decomposing 3 years I've lived in a match box with no sign of getting bigger place have gotten worse mentally as I'm a disability pensioner when repairs needed launch won't replace with same product as to expensive to repair so use the cheapest parts they can get at renters risk of being robbed but still expect 30%of my income still after the experience here I'm ready to go to local council and show them how it really is here and ask to print in media as launch housing have no care fore tenants only the money there taking each week from us Tennants shame on launch housing just dumping on the people needing the most help then refusing to hear complaints in footscray dwellings best thing to do from them is end the program and help Tennants recover there sanity I've also had doctors say long term living in these tiny bungalows isn't good n mentally so launch what are your plans for long term residents in footscray dwellings? Justin smith a very worst of mentally Tennant watching mates die up the rd.
Helped me get stable accommodation for a comfortable new life without having to stress out about the past several years being homeless.thank you homelessness to home program managed by Launch Housing Collingwood all your support is much appreciated an extra effort keeping a strong relationship between workers an myself, while providing a picture perfect place to call my home sweet home.cheers big ears, same goes! Who knows hahahaha hahahaha YeahYeah
Left me self harming and suicidal. Destroyed my life. Everyone hates Launch. People left dead to decompose in their rooms. How many people has this service killed?
This lot of people wouldn't know what homeless is all about. I've asked them where I was on the list and they said they lost me on there system. They make you feel like a number and not a person.
I've read all the comments.
I feel many negative comments are valid because some of the policies need tweaking. Budget constraints and immigration are just two of the areas where their issues diverge into Launch Housing's procedures, so better co-operation is required here.
But the people!
These people work day in day out dealing with hundreds if not thousands of traumatic and life changing problems across our community. YOUR problems. They calm you down, seek clarity so they can find where they can help and do their utmost best to get you a roof over your head. Once they have done this, they are dependent on YOU helping yourself to climb the steps out of homelessness and hopefully poverty. ITS NOT THEIR FAULT YOU ARE WHERE YOU ARE.
So if reading this review and are about to use Launch Housing, remember. Honey and kindness gets more results than vinegar and angst.
Special mention to Fran on intake and reception.
Fran is the kindest, most beautiful and earnest person in helping people I have ever met in my life. The other LH representatives I dealt with also do a great job under trying circumstances.
I had no help on the streets for 8 weeks and hated everyone. It felt like everyone was rude to me, even against me in some cases.
Many parts of the early intervention system have been so badly abused that homeless prevention is near impossible
But Fran (wow) what can I say
I was told to take a seat at Launch and in the hour there, I watched Fran help approx 20 people with kindness, understanding and a commitment which left me spellbound and in awe that such a human exists.
Here's the thing though.don't be rude.
No one in this wide world likes being spoken to like garbage, and to think that anyone is going to help you in this manner is pointless and asinine thinking.
Take a few deep breaths, be respectful, and calmly ask for help, where possible. They will guide you through what's required. They're not there to help with police, Centrelink, or Child support issues.
I guarantee, if you stay calm & respectful and clearly ask for help. They will do their best to get you a roof over your head and a bed to sleep in.
Fran. Hayley, Jade and Lauren helped me a lot
Utterly hopeless, they place inappropriate people in accomodation that they are not suitable for and then when complaints are received they provide no follow-up action or response.
Worst service I've ever experienced. When in a time of need. Theseguys will blow you off and take no acountability for their actions or lack ther of. After waiting two days for a cal back due to lockdown I was blamed for a missed call from them, I have only two missed calls in my phone and neither we from launch.
The lady over the phone was s rude, and came off like she was more egar to go home then to help. Oh the irony behind that, now I'm left standing on the street in risk of fines from police as I have no place to stay over the weekend thst is safe. Thanks guys. Top notch
To whom it may concern,
My name is Derek Rocha of Melbourne VIC Australia and of Malmsbury Street Kew or, Ivy Grange Guest House. I would like to thank you all at, Launch Housing of Victoria. The, landlords and the staff at all of your buildings, provides the: people of Melbourne Australia, who are otherwise; homeless: somewhere to stay that is safe and secure and also out, from the cold if, Melbourne's winter months of the year. As, I remember, the ways, in which I, a homeless man of Australia: used your, services that you provide; to help people, in need or in emergency situations. I would like to reach out and offer, the team of expert people of staff, and the allied teams, of Melbourne and Australians: some of the more salient features of my own story of: finding a place to stay: to be safe and secure and, to keep; 'off, the Street. ' Yours Sincerely, Derek Rocha. Ivy Grange Guest House.
Staff are friendly and helpful, especially if you're proactive in trying to help yourself & be honest!
The female staff I dealt with were condescending, insensitive and totally unprofessional. Launch PLEASE train your staff in how to deal with people in these situations. We are not just homeless but usually dealing with a myriad of issues i.e. Mental health/domestic violence etc. By the time we make it to Launch we are desperate, embarrassed and a little empathy would go a long, long way.
Today, on the day a second 6 week lockdown is announced, 10 minutes AFTER I am meant to check out of a motel in the city I was asked repeatedly for documents I had already provided one week ago to prove where money had gone in April that they only knew about because I had volunteered the information in the first place. When I explain I have already provided the information they then decide they need further information which I was originally told I did not need to provide. And around and around we go.
Someone also called me yesterday to discuss housing and likened me being put up in a motel as a "holiday" - a pretty disgusting way to describe the situation of a woman trying to escape an abusive ex partner/toxic relationship whose only other option is to sleep in her car or on the streets.
It is either total unprofessionalism and lack of attention to detail or they actually enjoy making you feel as uncomfortable and as close to "the dregs of society" as possible. By the tone of voice used by Jess on the phone this morning it seems like the latter and I have totally lost faith in Launch.
I am scared, I am alone and I am about to go back to my ex partner's as lockdown starts again at midnight and I still don't know if Launch is willing to rebook the motel for me (it is now almost 2 hours after check out time).
Thanks for the "holiday" launch. I hope I make it through lockdown alive (wish I was joking).
AmaZing solution focused case workers, and a force majeur.at a time when the Grind in the Liberal party are unmoved by the 116,500 unemployed in Australia.
Staff take the time and effort to help. Crisis housing is never going to be outstanding but I felt like they at least cared
Sent back and forth everywhere. I just want transitional housing! I know so many people who have them and live elsewhere. It's not fair. They think it's okay that I sleep in my car with my boyfriend.we are on the verge of killing ourselves. Thanks Launch
They truly help, I have been homeless before and was nearly on the verge of being homeless again, but they stepped in and helped me to find somewhere to go before I fell homeless again. If you are homeless or facing homelessness seek out there help
Attention: VIC Police.the staff at this centre actively engaged in institutional organized Predatory Behaviour.ark type.
Good people that do their best to help when they can. I hope they get more support, we need more places like this
Treated me like the white male patriarchal trash that I am.
Three young, completely disinterested and self-loathing feminist looking 'women' simply stared at me until I get to the counter, only to be of absolutely zero help whatsoever.
Condescending, disinterested, and self-loathing.
This is the face of homelessness services, and health services at large in this country. And we wonder why more men don't work in the field.
The dark skin lady at the reception I needed help. Straight away she said sorry I don't help you. I asked her if I can speak with someone else, she said you can only speak to me. She's sooo racist, I can tell how you was treating me. I pray that you don't have a good life. You are the worst human being I have ever met.
I believe this place used to be called HomeGround. I went to them needing a small amount of help in order to keep my long-term tenancy, after falling into arrears after the sudden death of my husband. They insisted that I lived in a boarding house (I did not), & therefore was ineligible for help. They refused to contact my landlord, or tenants union, or council, so I could prove otherwise. I was then told, literally, to "come back when you're homeless". Disgusting people, disgusting place. They don't deserve any stars.
Sorry because you are a victim of domestic violence we can't help you. At all. I just needed a bit of support. Thanks.
