Lang Lang Greyhound Coursing Club

In the week where Greyhound Racing Victoria celebrated their annual awards at the glitzy Plaza Ballroom in Melbourne, I would like to acknowledge those who give most to greyhound racing rather than those who receive and take the most, ie.those who have volunteered their time and energy to the Lang Lang Coursing Club.
The real champions of this great sport are the Lang Lang coursing Club volunteers John and Marion Clay, Michael on the bike, Ian Clarke and Colin McDonald at the start, Maria Wallis and others in the catching pen, Sean and Melanie Lithgow, Sue Jolly, commentator Calvin Russell, and Simon Mallia among others.
These volunteers are, in my opinion, the heart and soul of greyhound racing. Every week during coursing season, they give generously of their time and energy and ask nothing in return.
The most successful in our industry thoroughly deserve their awards, but for me volunteers are the true industy champions.
