Laksa Village reviews
38Food was tasteless we got the chicken Luca it had no taste at all and was just full of noodles we got take away must say won't order again
Best roti in Melbourne, it tastes amazing. Also recommended, Assam Laksa, Roti with Peanut Sauce or Curry (choose Curry, you won't regret it) and Roti with Curry Chicken. The only complaint is that the roti is a little small, but that is trifling as the food is good and the staff are friendly. Also, the $50 deal is amazing as then we don't need to order drinks.
Tough to get a seat most the time but it's worth the wait, highly recommend the Char Koay Teow and laksa
Very fairly priced and large portion sizes. They have a great range and user friendly online ordering. Favourite local takeaway spot!
Came of the Teochew dishes. Chose the mixed platter, accompanied with Chicken Rice (rice only).
Mostly happy with the braising - the tofu had absorbed the braising sauce very well. Possibly on the salty side but with rice, good. The pork belly was the letdown, need to cook down more.
Service is friendly with a smile.
Atmosphere not much, especially when full-house. Too much time listen to the other tables' conversation - great if that's your thing.
Probably one of the better and more authentic Malaysian restaurants in Melbourne. Great food and flavours when done well but unfortunately food is inconsistent. This is especially with regards to the taste, texture and appearance of the broth of the fish head noodle. Also a little on the salty side.
Have driven past this place for years on my daily drive to work. I finally got an opportunity to stop for late lunch. Restaurant was busier than I expected at 2.00pm. Had so many Laksa options, I selected Laksa with Duck. Amazing. Will definitely male time to go back again.
Enjoyed a selection of dishes. The place was fully booked. Overall all the dishes were tasty. The tofu fish and curry were probably the least favoured. The curry didn't have a kick, was just curry. The yam nest, eggplant, fish and beef dishes were good. Service was attentive and food was quick.
Probably the best laksa I’ve had so far in Melbourne, it was so delicious and a bit spicy
The Yun Yong Hor fun was very unique and so good, I’ve never have this dish before. It’s wok tossed rice flat noodles and deep fried vermicelli noodles served with seafood & pork in egg gravy sauce
(Must try item in this restaurant)
.
Stuff were very friendly and it’s very busy during lunch and dinner time, better to book a table in dinner time
Small takeaway servings. Not a fan of the char keoy teow and perhaps cut back on coconut milk on most dishes. It’s nice to be able to taste the original flavour of the food instead of a cloudy coconut milk.
Tried the Asam laksa and chicken laksa for dinner. The chicken certainly tasted like it was left overnight and the Asam laksa wasn’t at all authentic. The overall experience certainly left a bad impression on me. First and last time that I will be back here.
The Malaysian food is so good here. The service is great as well. Very popular at lunch time so go before 12. They're open at 11am.
Friendly staff, food came fast, and it was so tasty! Worth the 25 minute drive for me to come to this place. The noodles in the asam laksa were the soft ones, not hard and chewy, which is just how I like it!:)
Hidden gem in Donvale that is really authentic. The staff are very courteous and helpful. Really great range of laksas!
Ordered takeaway food from here. The food was sitting on the bench when I went to collect it. I queried how long it has been sitting there? And I was assured that it hasn’t been long. But, it was stone cold! Ordered satay chicken sticks and when collecting the food, the guy tells me that they ran out of chicken satay sticks so he substituted it with chicken dumplings! Who does that? Never again.
Great food, loved the assam laksa and the curry laksa! Fast and delish, and friendly "aunty".
A wonderful restaurant with authentic tasting Malaysian food. The staff are really friendly and provide great service. A highly recommended venue for those looking for a hearty Malaysian meal.
Watch out this guy Kai Yin @ Ben @ Roy owner of Laksa Village. Earlier he cheated one Malaysian guy took all his money. Lured them to invest and opened Penang Village. After he eats his money he close that business and renamed it to Laksa Village.
Interpol filing on the way, he will be extradited soon to Malaysia.
Limited seating so try to book if you have a group — great quality, fragrant dishes to be had here. They also have a nice variety of Asian-style drinks such as milk teas, ice blends and fruit teas. The menu has some quite unique items and overall, experience dining in was a pleasure.
I ordered a few takeaway dishes from here recently. The serving sizes were on the smaller side. The yam ring was delicious but tiny. The fish head curry broth was spot on but lacked vegetables. Honey chicken and sweet and sour pork were standard fare. I may return to try their hawker dishes in the future.
