Lakes Boatshed Cafe reviews
24 My hubby and I have been twice this holiday season. First visit was for a coffee and the awesome scones, delish….
Next visit was for brunch so we shared the fish n chips, they were amazing and very filling. Chloe the chef is always relaxed and smiling, the staff are great and the space is awesome to have a chat. The cafe has a very relaxed vibe. We will be returning. Great little spot. Thank you
Best sandwich of my entire trip to Australia! So so good! We went back the next day to get the same one and actually got 3 for our road trip to Bright. New owner was very friendly and nice to chat with.
Solid food at a fair price, enjoyed the lunch specials. The chips were especially good. Loved sitting outside on the patio on a beautiful day.
Totally unimpressed. Came in on Saturday at 1pm. Was barked at by a staff member that the kitchen was closed. There are ways of communicating this information to prospective customers which would leave them with a positive impression of the place. I'm sure that the place is delightful, but that short interaction has left me with a negative impression.
Thank you folks do much for hosting Skipper Pete's talk on Pelicans. It was a really good occasion.
Great brunch option after a stroll along the water. Coffee was tasty and the outdoor seating was great for our canine companion. We tried the Eggs Benny and Brekky Wrap, both we decent portions and left us satisfied. Thank you again!
Was about to order however the owner is very rude probably because I’m a person of colour I’m offended and I left without ordering
Edit: replying back I left due to attitude we were fine with the menu we would’ve ordered if not for the attitude of the owner.
It’s really a shame because this place is situated in a perfect spot near the north arm and walking distance from our hotel, but we definitely won’t be coming back. Asked for a toastie without tomato and when it was brought out with tomato the older lady argued back that we never mentioned it and that she wouldn’t remake it as it was our fault.multiple people in our family remembered us asking for it and it was even double checked at the end of the order and after arguing back and forth we were finally able to received what we initially asked for.
All the food tasted nice but just not worth it for the insane attitude of some of the staff here. Especially when there are multiple other cafes around that serve the exact same items but with a smile.
Understand that it's peak season and perhaps you are struggling to find staff. But there is no excuse for the attitude coming from your Chef (if you want to even call her that).
She was running around the cafe yelling and complaining, then told me that she couldn't do scrambled eggs for my child - even though it's an option on the menu. And was so completely rude about it.
Then I watched her try to convince another customer not to have scrambled eggs when she was served fried. And when was told no, this chef walked off in a huff and puff.
This place has really good potential, however some lack of experience with staff is letting this place down.
I get how the hospitality industry can be frustrating, working in the industry for a very long time myself. But that doesn't mean you take it out on the customers just because you are not doing your job correctly. Really disappointing.
However the young girls working at the front desk where very sweet and clearly a little bit overwhelmed but was doing a great job. Also the coffee was really lovely.
Having gluten free bread on the menu at $3 a serve but having no concept of how to handle it for a coeliac says it all. Customer service zero rating.
Why have GF toast, and charge an additional $3, if you aren't going to cook it separately. Putting it in the same toaster defeats the purpose for someone that is Coeliac.
There’s a waitress (short older women with glasses) who has absolutely zero training in customer service. Yelling at customers, not knowing which food belongs to which table. I’m watching plate after plate get sent back because it’s wrong. Quality of food is very average save your money or go elsewhere in town.
Had a coffee with friends a great atmosphere just wish the coffee a Little stronger.lovely views across North Arm
Average food. The breakfast spinach wasn’t cook which is unpleasant when a few cold leaves are thrown on your plate. Made worse by lack of labelling for food which was a lucky near miss for massive allergy reaction. Pity such a good location is let down by the staff
The overall experience was very pleasing! The chips were the best I have had in 30 years! The service was quick friendly and the venue was perfect. I would highly recommend this venue to those looking for a pleasant relaxing meal with water views. Also dog friendly!
We ran music development workshops in Lakes Entrance and inquired with Lakes Boatshed Cafe to provide lunch catering on a Friday, so happy with the prompt service and quality of the food. Linda and her team worked to our requests + budget promptly and with ease, providing exactly what we needed with less than a week's notice. Totally recommend this cafe for any food service or meal.
Thank you Lakes Boatshed Cafe!

Love, love, love this Cafe. Whether you choose to ear inside or outside, this is a Lakes Entrance diamond
Zero stars for customer service. Sit outside her shop. 5 minutes early.was told we don't open for another 10 minutes.and told to go and sit over the road from her lousy coffee shop as she felt we were watching her. Bad customer service as there were 6 adults and 3 kids for breakfast.your loss lady. We will go elsewhere next time. Bad way to treat your prospective customers. Good luck with your attitude. I hope it may improve for others.
Terribly basic breakfast! 4 things incorrect on a very basic order & paying the same prices as somewhere like Funky Monkey where the menu is very special.
Tinned tasteless mushrooms used, home brand icecream, vanilla syrup added to icecoffee which went out in the 80s
Buyer beware, what a waste of $50 on a year where spending $50 is a big deal. The only thing going for this place was the views
We visited at approx. 9.45am on Wednesday April 28.the coffee was awesome! The real standout, though, was the young lady manning the coffee machine. On her own and absolutely run off her feet, she still provided exceptional customer service with a smile, and is an absolute asset to this business.
