Lake Colac Caravan Park reviews
52Wonderful stay at this park the facilities are tired but extremely clean and there are many improvements planned to start. Great location and extremely helpful caretakers. Definitely worth a visit.
Great place, clean and tidy.
Drove the extra 80km off route to visit the Grey Headed FLying foxes at the Botanic Gardens next door. So was great to have them flying overhead as i went to sleep
Thank you
I visited this caravan park recently and they are lovely. Used their shower facilities and I'd recommend this caravan park to others. Will be back soon
Awesome Caravan Park lovely onsite manager was very helpful.
We stayed 2 nights would have stayed more if we were able. Will definitely stay here again.
A very racist encounter. We've called this place and booked in advance and everything was smooth. The woman on the phone said it is ok to BBQ at the park however when we arrived everything changed instantly. Not only was she dismissive and unfriendly, But when we mentioned that we had a BBQ she was very rude and made shocking racist remarks.
The woman justified the sudden "No BBQ allowed" by saying " I've seen people like you and how they BBQ" then proceeded to mention that she will call the police in a very condescending and judgmental manner. She then proceeded to charge us more money and said that she'll have to split the group into two very different locations. Mind you we are a small group. She obviously does not welcome people of different ethnic backgrounds or minorities. Please steer clear from this place if you are from a different background or a minority. Apparently "we" BBQ differently than the rest of the world.
I was disappointed and so were the rest of group however we have found an incredible place not too far away from this racist spot. It is a public Caravan camping site called "Meredith park camping grounds" with a beautiful scenery to a lake. The free stay at the Meredith camping site was free of prejudice, Racial Profiling, Othering and most of all, free of despicable racist remarks.
The staff made the great lakeside location even better. If you're passing through Colac and you value customer service, this place outstrips the competition in town.
Great place, the services are the bare minimum, a place to cook inside would have been great.
Stayed here last week for 5days and Jason and his Wife were more than accommodating, definitely recommended going there while they’re managing the place and will be following them in the future. Thanks again
A homeless guy tried to attack me but i beat and clapping him off me but the caravan park is great!
I was on placement in Colac and the owner of the caravan park was truly lovely.
On-site was an amazing coffee trailer; dare I say the best in Colac With tables and chairs along the bank of the river to enjoy the view and relax.
What a lovely campsite, located right on the lake. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Worth a vist
Nice, clean and friendly Caravan Park, close to town. Excellent view of the lake. Coffee trailer close by, as well as the Lakeside Cafe and botanical Gardens. Would stay there again. Quiet, lovely galahs and magpies in the park.
Was disappointed with lake colac caravan park council clearly have plans for this land much rather drive to Camperdown caravan park
Place well maintained, ensite needs renovating, but appears clean. Staff very helpful and friendly.
This place is a gem! Right beside the lake and the Botanical Gardens and only a short and pleasant walk into town. Very clean and all communal facilities well maintained. It even has an on-site coffee van with a friendly guy making good coffee and tea. Julie, who runs the site, is kind and efficient. It is quiet at night, lots of bird song in the morning and overall a charming place.
Such a beautiful spot - we camped on an unpowered spot for four days - access to great facilities much more than we expect for camping - lovely staff and great to have a pet friendly place! It was buddy’s first time camping and he had a great at time. Thankyou for a lovely stay!
Great Position. However very run-down the ensuits are so out of date. Dirty and in need of update. Friendly staff.
Lovely spot to holiday with Colac lake and Botanical gardens and walking tracks beside the lake. Jack makes great coffee 7 days a week at Pelican point right beside the caravan park.
Booked and paid for a night's stay. Got there and began making camp. Then thrown out (asked to leave) because *lockdown *.
Didn't see them throwing anyone else out.
The manager was apparently proud of being 89 years old. And left to his own devices is happy to throw out innocents.
Don't trust this place for a night's stay. It's possible they'll ask you to leave due to an unrelated world event.
Best place to stay in Colac. Friendly staff, clean amenities and lots of grass. Right beside Lake Colac, close to the bird sanctuary, gardens and walking path.
