The gourmet seafood pizza so tasty I have my base fin, the porterhouse well cooked with peppercorn sauce the best love it, service absolutely fantastic the girl she managed a full house on her own and on time, the kitchen hand lady did all of the kitchen dishes also great, pizza man fantastic, prices r reasonable but U pay for high standard food and service ur money will be spent well. I recommend to book early as they do get busy and it's not a very big restaurant also the whole interior has not changed since 1969 but very cool it's like nonna home lol love it
U can bring it children, wheelchair is not accessible sorry, there is a lot to have if U r a vegetarian, I am sure even if ur on a diet all good. Parking on the main Street Lygon st or on side st up to U guys, but it safe. Have Fun

We love La Taverna. It’s a great family business, run by a great family. It’s unpretentious & give generous servings of tasty homestyle cooking.

Great pizzas and friendly staff. I always get take away but the atmosphere is cool: old school vibes. Looks like a great place to have a cozy meal with friends. Deserts are super tasty too! Win, win, win.

Had dinner on Sun night and couldn't fault the Pizza's. Beautiful crunchy pizza base with heaps of gourmet topping, yum.
Don't sit too close to the door as it was a bit chilly at this time of year.

Disappointing and yucky. First of all, my salad was missing. The cannelloni was okay. However, I found a dead cockroach in the Tiramisu. Never ordering from here ever.

An outstanding dining experience. The food was great, the service was better. One waitress to greet people, seat people, bus tables, run the till, serve the food, operate the phones, she may have been the single most efficient and effective human being I have ever encountered in any walk of life. Polite, courteous, timely and professional. The restaurant was at capacity and I could not have left more impressed.

Had a lovely experience at La Taverna, the food was great and the server was extremely helpful and kind! Relatively cheap especially compared to the high quality of the food, will definitely be coming back here!

Rustic Italian pizzeria with excellent service. Cosy with good seats. Pizza was perfectly done, generous fresh toppings (we got the Special - Family size). 3 sizes available with 2-inch difference between each. Price wise, a bargain for the quality of pizzas. Definitely coming back to try more! Thanks for the food guys!

Lovely family run Italian. Very welcoming atmosphere that feels genuine and inviting.

Chicken soup comes with a delicious garlic bread, the pizzas are not overpoweringly tomato'y and have a nice Herby zest to the crust, though they are a little thicker and doughier than the best sourdough bases. Good but may be stodgy for some tastes. Toppings all delicious.

Homemade gnocchi was excellent and fully recommend it. The house wine is also good quality

Reasonably priced too as nothing is too expensive, wine around $8 and pizzas about $19

Staff were kind even though the place was busy and there weren't tons of them on duty. It feels like a nice place that you'd want to support in the neighborhood as well as having good food

Superb food, all made from scratch. Best gnocchi I have had in a long time. Very generous serving sizes.

Authentic Italian food.
The staff are wonderful and it is really great for our kids- they love it every time.

Visiting with friends from Brisbane and was looking for local authentic Pizza. Saw the light on and gave La Tavema a try and it was delicious. I will be back!

Great service and amazing food. Had a mix of pizza, pastas and schnitzel and all were great. Kids LOVED the Nutella pizza too. A brilliant little local eats. We’ll be back!
