La Salita makes a great wood fired oven pizza with a perfect crusty base and that's why l keep on coming back however last night l ordered the classical Italian drink, a Negroni and was somewhat surprised that they couldn't make it as they didn't have all the ingredients. A bit strange at a good Italian restaurant but will keep on going back for the pizza though (and gnocchi too)

I thought I’d try this place before it gave the impression is was a nice casual restaurant, unfortunately I had the worst experience from food, to service to atmosphere, I can see from other reviews they have had similar experiences, I too waited over 45mins for a basic meal, the drinks took 20mins to come out it it wasn’t even busy. There was no apologies for how long we had to wait or even a follow up on how the food was. Absolutely applauding service. If you are going to promote a nice restaurant you need to also follow through with what’s happening within your four walls.

Recently visited this place for dinner it was my sons birthday day so for him a special occasion, we were seated bye the owner on a table which all good, just about to order and a guy come over which makes the pizzas and asked me to move to another table problem was it was a table for 2 he said he would add a chair and it was going to be outside but under cover we already ordered drinks and settled so I said to the guy it wouldn’t suit us and would prefer to stay, he then said well we really need the table and we needed to move I asked my family they said no let’s just go somewhere else because he was being rude at this point, when we said we are going he got really abusive say just go and never come back here again in front of a crowd which was very embarrassing for not only us but the people next to us, all I say I would never recommend this place didn’t have a chance to taste the food but on principle I can’t recommend he’s a rude person and this is not the right way to treat people

I came to this place 2 days in a row with my husband that should say enough!

So so delicious!

We ordered the margarita pizza with basil (a must)

Seafood pasta with red sauce (A MUST)

Chilli mussels oh so so so so yum

They did not disappoint!

And tried the arancini balls are such a big size then normal but that’s what makes them even more yummier!

What we loved about this place as well they were generous with the seafood portions.

Definitely coming back again!

Service was terrible. It was 9pm on a Wednesday and we were not advised that it was closing hours. A simple we are closing or you have 10 minutes or bring the bill would have been suffice to alert us to the fact that they were closing.
Instead the young waitress took my glass of water and poured it into my friend's glass of water. We said we are still drinking that are you asking us to leave?
She replied my boss told me to do that and with aggression while she cleared our table.
Rude behaviour that is not acceptable.
I've been here about 5 times and this will be my last.
I was a waitress myself and this treatment is totally unacceptable. There is a way to go about things and to treat people.

I catch up with a couple of mates there often and the food is always delicious and so fresh. Wide selection of meals and we've never been disappointed.
Pizzas are terrific and the staff and very friendly and accommodating. Very relaxed atmosphere. This is our go to place now.

I’m going to give this restaurant the benefit of the doubt as I order via Uber. Both the pizza and the chips could have used 2-3 more minutes cooking. Both were underdone. The chips were advertised as coming with tomato sauce and aioli, but only came with aioli. It wasn’t the worst meal I’ve had, but could have been a lot better…

Thought to try this place out being conveniently local. Was disappointing to have waited an hour for a simple calamari and salad and 1 pizza to arrive. Portions are not a generous size.
On a positive note, the wood fire pizzas are quite nice.

I attended a function here and was delighted by the friendly and helpful staff, food was actually sensational. Beautiful, authentic Italian food. I loved it. Such a great family friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Having just finished dinner at what we hoped would be a reasonable dinner in Uni Hill Bundoora, I am still in disbelief at the poor quality of this restaurant.
4 of us dined, we shared the frito Misto to share as a starter, and mains of pasta and pizza.
Not one order was was of acceptable quality, , and in particular the ravioli that tasted like it was straight from a supermarket and under cooked.
There are great Italian restaurants in Melbourne, even reasonable cafeterias in Melbourne, but this restaurant doesn’t rate.
Expensive, poor service, and even worse poor food.
Never again!

Pizza here is fantastic, a great dough, great sauce, quality toppings. Truly the best pizza I've had, possibly ever.

Made an Uber eats order for a salad, which was missing 60% of the ingredients - it was literally rocket thrown into a take away box with balsamic, no dressing, no nuts - no nothing, literally rocket and balsamic. Pathetic. The pizza & wedges were average, not properly cooked but edible. Not sure how you forget more than half the ingredients, especially when you’re not talking about many ingredients to begin with.

First & last time I eat or order from there.

Fresh and top notch pizza. Haven’t had one like that in a while. Great dough base. Light and tasty.

Have been going here for awhile now always had the chiicken schnitzel which I couldn't never fault until last night was under cooked and very string might be awhile before we return

It was great to be back there after a very long covid break. The pizza chef even had time to come over and have a catch up. Very nice guy.

Great service, wonderful staff and the Wood oven pizza’s are fantastic.
Best Wood oven pizza in the North
