La Porchetta IVANHOE

Good food, generally speaking, but the days of La Porchetta providing cheap good food are well and truly over, unfortunately, which makes you wonder that for the same price whether you should venture to any other Italian restaurant with more authentic dishes.

Service really can vary by the waiter/ress you get. There’s one waiter there that almost literally throws your food down on the table and absolutely never smiles.

Atmosphere is ok.

Saturday 23/12 - we went to La Porchetta in Ivanhoe at about 5.30pm for my dad’s birthday! We had 10 people and two kids under the age of 2 and the staff went above and beyond to keep the 2 year old entertained. Food was fast and fresh and the service was impeccable! Thanks for a great night! Excellent family friendly restaurant!

Very unimpressed with the quality of the food. Used to be a good budget option when I was a kid. The prices are ridiculous now and the quality isn't there. Poorly made pizza, a main that only comes with chips or salad not both. I chose chips and for a very small amount of undercooked chips. That main meal at $30 for a schnitzel & chips is a rip off. Mass produced sticky date and packet mix chocolate mousse for sure.

Used to come here as a kid and have fond memories. Unfortunately, the food isn't like it was. Pizza had a lot of cheese but should have been cooked longer. Was a bit soggy which is odd considering it wasn't even takeaway (which would be more understandable). Seafood pasta didn't have any flavour. Service was very fast and friendly though. That alone wouldn't bring me back.

These restaurants are a Melbourne institution and my family has dined/ordered out from the Ivanhoe restaurant as long at it has been established. Polite and respectful staff and great food.

Service is absolutely disgusting! No please or thank you! Friday night is dead! Why? I can why now. Why aren’t the staff wearing name badges? They should in hospitality! Do not recommend! Also staff want to comment about how much they are on with customers. Not good. Feel free to msg me. Thanks.

Great pizza and pasta In Melbourne. Great customer service by staff (Vince) great man gave a absolutely fantastic customer service.

Fettuccini polo was overpriced, under sized and bland.
Gnocchi was also pretty average as well.
$70 for 2 pastas and a garlic cheese pizza was way too much for takeaway.

Unfortunately this porchetta is going backwards with the pizza quality. They put too much cheese on there pizzas and must have changed the cheese they use on the pizzas. Pitty their pizzas used to be good.

OMG! Vegan Pizzas are to die for! They are delicious! Their Vege Patch is amazing, so tasty and filling. Garlic bread and chips are vegan too. Really quick in preparing, nice service. They also have vegan pasta dishes which we'll try next time!:)

La Porchetta used to be a budget conscious option but a main pasta costing $24.90 when it's not fresh pasta (and the ingredients used are the samd as pizza toppings) is no longer value for money. Particularly when their main appears to be thr same size in just a different shape container, no larger than the entree. I also for some reason was randomly charged an extra $2 outside of their menu price without explanation - odd and not the La Porchetta I remember.

Delicious pizzas! This gem in Ivanhoe is awesome. Their vegan range is fantastic, including their pasta choices. Recommend their Vegan Pesto Chick'n pizza!

Nice food, took a while to get service and they forgot to provide plates to eat the meal from. The restaurant was kept clean and didn't take long to be seated.

Great place, great staff and fantastic food! Kids loved the place and demands a return. Absolutely the place to visit for italian food cravings.

Haven't been to this place in years but recently ordered takeaway and wrote a good review about their pizzas which are really good. We tried dining in today. My steak was overcooked so I sent it back. 2nd steak was aslo overcooked so I gave up sending 2nd one back. No apology from staff and they still charged us for the steak. It's a shame as we live locally but we won't be going back again

Great Italian restaurant. Had the cheese garlic bread, carbonara pasta, half and half Hawaiian and meat lovers pizza. There was a slight mix up with our order but the staff were nice and helpful and fixed everything up.

Never disappoints. Consistently good thick style pizza and perfect for the next day. About $40 for two large and a garlic bread can’t go wrong.

Tonight I booked a table for 20 for an end of season celebration for a basketball team. There was another table of 20 and another table of about 10. The service was fabulous and everyone had a great time. I've been coming here for years. The staff are always friendly, the food comes out fast and is of a good consistent quality. It's a great family restaurant that does large bookings very well. Thanks again.
