La Porchetta Carlton reviews
47 Normally i dont write a bad review but when you pay $20 for a meal and the food is Terrible I want people to know
We ordered spaghetti bolagnese with home made sauce not home made out of a can and very dry Fettuccine Alfredo with a dash of napoli sauce as I didnt want a heavy sauce but they put a whole jar of sauce on the pasta and it was swimming in it just wish I took a photo to show how bad there food has become they are not the good old style food they used to serve. I have had better food at a shopping centre and at half the price.save your money and try anywhere but here for food.
But hey we got a huge $5.50 discount. The only good thing here today a glass of wine and sunshine
Went with Dad and 4 brothers on weekend trip to Melbourne. Little bro wanted to go here because of the history. Service was good and had some recommendations. The servings are huge! Entre size is fine for mains unless super hungry. We didn't eat half the stuff. We had some cheesy garlic bread, pasta and pizza. All 4 to 5 star. Dad rated his lamb shanks. Unfortunately we were let down by the Lemon Meringue Pie. I travel all over the world for this and it's definitely a bit of a crazy passion. Unfortunately this one would be a 5 at a stretch. Overall would come back, good value.
Got sent a raw schnitzel Parma I honestly don’t understand how you can undercook a chicken in this day and age
Didn’t Mick Gatto and Alphonse Gangitano hangout here with the rest of the underworld boys?
We've been coming for years. Always lovely. The staff.the service.the food.always great. Thankyou
The Original traditional la Porchetta, this place holds so many great memories and is still run by the same family, in Carlton North. Great old school Italian service and up there with the best pizza, pasta and gelato I’ve tasted in Melbourne, they even do pizza making for kids birthday parties
The original store. We enjoyed a great night out for a 60th birthday. Food was great. Service a bit slow. Parking not great.
Been here since I was a kid. Pizzas are delicious, I always get the capriciosa. Vegan options taste great too
Would not let customers dine in one hour before closing! With others diners still ordering inside
Business must be so good they don't need more customers.
Waste of time coming all the way fron the other side of town.
Never again
So rude staff can't tolerate the pressure if too much busy! For takeway service they have no mercy for uber eats driver. Waited for 18 minutes and still said the order is not ready! What a shame? Speed like sluggish motion!
Very very good service. Atmosphere is only excellent when dining outside, otherwise it is cramped indoors.
As it is the original La Porchetta you know that this is going to be a good one. Pizzas are a bit cheaper here than most pizza places and it is a good value to bring the family.
The staff are very friendly. Food is as expected, traditional Italian food, simple, tasty and to the point.
Great food. Miss all the old photos and atmosphere. It's just like every other generic restaurant now.
My husband, my sister & brother in law & I visited last night, 10 minutes before the kitchen closed. Unlike some restaurants they didn't make a fuss about the lateness of our visit, but welcomed & seated us efficiently & took our order, 2 pizzas, 1 pasta & a chicken Parma.
The food was served promptly &: we were all delighted with our meals but I want to make a special mention of my delicious anchovy pasta from the specials list. Perfectly cooked spaghetti with a fabulous sauce of anchovy, Chili, cherry tomatoes, onions & oil. Fabulous simple food beautifully cooked. Don't underestimate this amazing dish, give it a try
Reasonably priced, great atmosphere, friendly staff. Only complaint is the the main and entree size of pasta are basically the same size, so not worth the price difference.
Visited La Porchetta this afternoon with my Family. The food tasted like home cooking and the best part of it was the service. The young lady who assisted me was friendly, offered me wine options and looked after us really well. Excellent! I will be returning
Great pizza but because they are situated in a neighbourhood where it’s residents are predominantly old white boomers, the restaurant is forced to cater to their geriatric needs. This means that establishment is forced to close at 8 pm sharp or they will receive noise complaints from the cranky, old white boomers that live there. If La Porchetta was allowed to open late it would be a five star establishment. Such a shame how old white boomers ruin everything in this country
Good food and service except customers please note, split bills not accepted. Pay at the front before being seated. A good night for a small group.
Takeaway 3 pizzas; pineapple, chicken and the lot. All were tasty hot and had good ratio of crisp and moist. Very good service swiftly made ready quick.
