La Porchetta reviews
61 This is the worst La Porchetta I have been to!
The food was undercooked and disgusting! Plywood pizza 100%! The chips tasted like fish and the young boy with earrings was very rude and argued. Wouldn’t eat here ever again! Shame, I hope the owner opens his eyes and puts this place in shape again!
Bathrooms are gross they are creepy and empty staff are rude and don't care food is watery and chewy the cooks are weird
It’s one of Australia’s famous Italian restaurant chain. The one at Greensborough is very cozy with very friendly staff. The food they serve is great and it gets busy during weekends.
The food was so good. I have an eaten like that in Italy and I’ve been there for times as I am Italian oh wow who’s making the pizzas? And the pastas AMAZING! I think the chefs name was George and the staff go go go for service especially a waiter named billie-lee and their fiery enthusiastic pizza maker. I think he goes by the name of laz. A must visit if you’re in the area 100 out of 5 for
La Porchetta, Greensborough️️
Ordered beef ragu delivery. The steak was so hard and chewy it was disgusting. Nothing like a beef Ragu. Sorry but awful. Could barely get a fork into it that’s how hard it was. Went in the bin. Not worth the money.
We ordered some
Pizza via Menulog. American & Meat Lovers. Both were super salty. Meat Lovers had chunks of mince that didn’t stick to the base. The pizza when I collected (right on time as I called about 5 mins before I came and was told it was done in 3 mins) were not even warm (unlike even at Domino or another favourite of ours in Briar Hill when they are always hot).
Found out one of our friends had the same experience.
Not sure about other food though. But I thought the restaurant should improve on this since it has an Italian name. Can’t afford to fail on pizza!
The only good point was the motto on the pizza box cover “Eat. Live. Love. Italian”
I've been past this restaurant many times before, and always the place has seemed empty even on a Friday night. Anyways, tonight we decided to give it a shot. Apart from one other person, we were the only ones there. We were greeted to by friendly staff, and a first good impression. However, things only started to go down from here. After we ordered, the first item swiftly arrived, which was "The Super Special" pizza. Sadly, there wasn't enough cheese, instead copious amounts of ham. I felt like the amount of cheese and ham should have been swapped, and the base of the pizza itself was dry and cracker like. Our next items were the porterhouse steak (they had run out of the scotch filet but that's fine), and despite being a bit bland, they were cooked nicely and juicy, and with the provided salt shakers, they were able to be seasoned nicely. Finally we had ordered 3 plates of pasta, all varying from alright to bad. The best was the Pollo E Fungi. The pasta was cooked nicely, the sauce was garlicky and creamy, however the chicken was dry and overcooked. Next was a spaghetti bolognaise, which was underwhelming and tasted like something you'd get in a cafeteria, and last was the lasagna, which looked squished and was overall a sloppy mess falling apart. All these pasta dishes were entrées, and as such were quite small yet costed 20$ per plate. Overall, after this below average experience I will probably not be back!
The veal schnitzel was great.
Original pizza was great.
Decor is very basic and not very inviting.
Service was good.
Very possibly the worst chicken parmigiana I have ever had and the vegetables tasted like they were almost rotten. Barely any vegetables. Should be ashamed of that food. At $36 to have delivered it is disgusting
He's back again! This time got the yummy yummy mcyummy yes 3 yummys pizza. Never had better service except that one kfc. "I'll be back for more" - dude in photo
Had delivery Pizza was very dry and chocolate mousse was watery and tasted like a packet one at $7.90 each mousse I expect a bit more.
Sadly really terrible, everything was undercooked, chips limp and white, wrong food came to several people, staff seemed lovely but unsure and harassed, could see the chef getting angry at staff. Half the lights had bulbs gone, and it was a simply awful atmosphere. Time for a make over team!
I can understand that working on New Year's Eve can get very busy as a lot of places are closed, so it was understandable when I went to pick up the pizza after 30 minutes that it wasn't ready yet and I was told to wait 10 minutes. I waited inside La Porchetta, 10 minutes go by, 15 minutes have past, 20 minutes and I'm getting annoyed because a server just said to a different customer that the pizzas take 6 minutes to cook. I go back to the counter to check on my order as I haven't heard anything and it is sitting ready to be collected. Why did the staff not let me know the order was ready? I was waiting inside the shop.
Customer service was pretty bad, a different customer had also waited a long time and was complaining that one guy told them it would be ready in 10 minutes and after 15 minutes he asked about the order again and got told to wait 10 minutes. You can understand the frustration.
The pizza was pretty good. The gluten free based is a bit dense. Toppings were fresh and delicious.
No one minds waiting a bit longer than their food but at least give a slightly accurate time to wait and just let people know you are very busy before people get annoyed. Also if someone goes to pick up their order, just try to remember so you can let them know when it's ready. I won't be coming back any time soon.
The worst of the worst, tonight we ordered a delivery, 3 meals witch was included 1 gnocchi cream and mushroom, instead they sent gnocchi bolognese, was even ok if I didn’t have stomach issues with tomatoes sauce or anything got to do with tomatoes, we called them to tell them they made a mistake and we can hear the manager on background saying to the girl I was on phone that we need to deal with Menulog… seriously? I didn’t know that Menulog not only deliver to us but even cook for us? Since the pasta was a mistake not the delivery address omg! Anyway after we finally we managed to get sent the right meal again, 1 hour a 30 minutes later finally arrived, but was the worst gnocchi cream and mushroom I ever had… I couldn’t even get to eat it from the garlic was in that dish, I swear I couldn’t even see the gnocchi… only full of chunks of garlic,
Disgusting, never ever order from this porchetta again, pizza was salty more than the salt,
PS: I worked for la porchetta for 14 years and usually the chef doing those things and more when they being catch it on their mistakes, now feeling so sorry how this porchetta in greensborough ruins this franchise witch always been perfect food,
Disappointed ************
Food 0 stars
Took the kids here recently for dinner. It’s like walking into a time warp, the place is huge but seemed to lack any warmth in my opinion. There appeared to be only one other group eating in and when they left it was just us…it’s quite a cavernous place and not one that makes you want to hang around. Even though there was only one other table eating in the restaurant, I actually had to call a waitress over to take our orders. They seem to do quite a bit of takeaway (Uber eats?) but I am not sure I would get takeaway from here. Ordered two pizzas, Hawaiian minus the pineapple for the kids, and a gluten pizza for me. The kids pizza was the usual ham and cheese- pretty hard to get wrong. The gluten free pizza, I absolutely expect better from a pizza restaurant this size. The base which has the usual gluten free surcharge was ordinary at best and didn’t appear to be made in the establishment but ordered in (I could be wrong). Nevertheless if you are going to charge extra for gluten free, ensure the base is worthy and ensure that good clean gluten free kitchen practices are adhered to. Not saying they weren’t adhered to but just saying what the expectation is for people who require gluten free as we pay more than others for the same pleasures.
Good luck.
Large portions is a good thing If the food was actually good. Unfortunately, the food was so oily. The salad was soggy and not fresh at all. The tomatoes in the salad were literally the skin of the tomatoes which is very strange. 70 for 2 meals and an entree. If I were to pay for the quality, it wouldn't surpass 20 bucks.
Great Italian place, have their Gnocchi & carbonara pastas they have some authentic sauces and great service.
Had a parma last night with chips and salad which usually a salad comes with your meal but when I went to pay for my meal the salad was an extra cost bit cheeky want be back very disappointed.
Pizzas were good, up to La Porchetta standard. Venue had surprisingly few customers eating in so it was easy to book. Table service was friendly but a little lax: I would have liked another coffee.
Greeted by a lovely old guy named Loui, place doesnt look that charming but the food was excellent! I go to La Porchettas alot and this pizza Stood out, with the freshest ingredients and one of the best tasting pizza experiences i have had!
