La Chanh

Great food and friendly service. We ordered the Beef Pho and Hu Tieu noodle soup and it was super tasty. Easily one of our favourite Vietnamese restaurants in Melbourne.

I’ve been coming to Victoria Street for over 40 years and have seen many restaurants come and go. Since discovering La Chanh it has been so nice to have some great authentic Vietnamese food once again. Every dish they do appears to be cooked with love and care. The balance of flavours is perfect and the servings are generous. I’m gradually working my way through the menu and haven’t been dissatisfied. The restaurant is clean and tidy, and the host Maggie does a wonderful job on her own with her husband serving up the magic in the kitchen. Would highly recommend to give them a try.

This is an excellent example of good Vietnamese cuisine in Melbourne. The place is impeccably clean and a great menu. The food is amazing. The servings are really generous. They are very heavy handed with the chilli. So just ask for less if chilli is not your fave. Highly recommend will def return

Staff will check you are fully vaccinated at check-in or you can still get take away. Very clean and hygiene protocol kept up. Please be nice to staff when visiting!

Stopped at the front of La Chanh and the menu captured my curiosity. DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Very very authentic vietnamese taste and flavours. Must try the Bun Hoi with Grilled pork dish - large serving and quality taste Easy 5 stars!

This is not the type of Vietnamese restaurant that is going to be full every night on Victoria St They are not the cheapest, they don't try and please everyone with a 25 page menu with every Asian dish under the sun and they have some dishes that are not standard fare in most restaurants. A cut above most offer Vietnamese options on Victoria St.

The best Vietnamese in Richmond. Fast and prompt, friendly service and the food never disappoints. Amazing prices, good quality solid menu options, friendly atmosphere and clean tables – can’t ask for much more than that!

Not much wrong here. A more modern take on the traditional Victoria St model but the quality of dishes and pricing is very fair. $36 for sparkling water, steamed rice, deep fried calamari and rice paper roles. Quick efficient service.

Terrific place - food, service is excellent. Doesn't have the huge menu of some places, but they know what they do well. Great lunch special too.

Simple furnishings. Quiet and restrained service. "Authentic Vietnamese" menu. Good presentation. Excellent seafood salad. Hope the rest of the menu is as good.

Must try their charcoal grill pork! Is absolute delicious! After comparison with others Vietnamese restaurants, this one are on top notch.

Hands down the best place we have been to for Vietnamese food! Moved to Abbotsford and tried a few restaurants and this is my favorite! Never disappoints. Much better than I love Pho just a walk away. I'm serious try this place!

Great to finally see a new Vietnamese eatery on Victoria St. Especially one that offers a bit more of a fusion / contemporary offering.
Definitely worth coming here if you want a change from the standard Vietnamese fare you get along the strip.

Amazing authentic vietnamese food. I eat on Victoria St weekly and this is now one of my favorites. Cheap eats thats beautifully presented and attentive service. Love the satay beef soup.

Pretty quiet at Sat 7pm. I had salmon fried rice. Moderately large serving size and reasonably tasty. Came with tea. $16.

Really fresh and tasty bun cha. Comes with a complimentary drink or dessert for lunch. I opted for the Vietnamese coffee which was great, really fragrant. Good value for the price!

Wow, that was the most delicious crispy chicken I've ever had. This restaurant is definitely worth visiting. Amazing friendly service too.and the prices are fantastic. Finally some absolutely delicious food at $10-13 per head. I'll be back! Thank you!
