La Cabra St Kilda - Modern Mexican reviews
49 Decent. We got a vego share platter, plus cactus tacos out of curiosity.
The Char Grilled Corn was a highlight - delicious! Frozen margarita was great too.
As for the rest of the food.their non-vego options might be better? The jackfruit quesidillaa and pumpkin tacos were pretty average - very mushy texture for both. Cactus tacos were a novelty, but nothing special.
But we got 50% off food through TheFork, so overall still pretty happy with the meal:)
Went second time in just over a week because the first experience was a treat; the second time just as good. The food is fresh, tasty and well presented with a friendly Mexican interpretation, and Chaitya was attentive and cheerful. Would I go again? Yep, no hesitation and I'd happily take a family - kids and all.
Great place and lovely staff. Loved Monday Margs, a must try best ever I have had! Will definitely be back to try their other daily specials Taco Tuesday and Thirsty Thursdays.
31 July 22. My partner and I dined for lunch. Greeted by Fernanda, then we chose our table.
Going off recommendations we ordered the fried calamari ($16) and the buffalo chicken wings ($15). For mains we ordered the large serve of pork ribs for ($30) and the lamb buritto ($21). Enjoyed a bottle of Stonier Chardonnay ($54) too. Then again on recommendation, I ordered the Key lime pie ($14). Everything exceeded our expectations. The service was very friendly and we didn't have to wait long between courses.
We will certainly be visiting again. Thank you.
1st time here with a friend, and it was absolutely fabulous. Grace, our waiter was so helpful and the food amazing. We shared buffalo chicken wings, fried calamari, crispy pork belly taco, cactus taco, prawn enchilada. All with 2 carafes of very good sangria. Will definitely be back. Sorry we forgot to take photos, we were so into the food. Ordered the key lime pie and it was baking. Went for a much needed walk and came back for it. Delicious, fresh baked. Took a photo before my friend destroyed it
Went Friday night with boys very busy but got our food so quickly and very tasty loved this place coming back again.
Really disappointed with the quality of food and really stingy portions.
I had the chicken burger and the patty was about half the size of the bun. The prawn taco has 3 small prawns on it.
Was left hungry after spending $60.
Disappointing service, burgers and burritos were not as ordered or per menu, chips were greasy and cooked in old oil and smelt like burnt fish. To top it all off our group were all overcharged.
The food is really good but more importantly the service is amazing. Shout out to Milly, Grace, and is it Chiana or Chiara?
Our group was served by a wonderful waitress called Chiana. For a young woman she served our table with the professionalism of a seasoned hospitality worker. Her manner was friendly, she suggested some share dishes for us and she checked on us throughout the evening without being pushy or disruptive. I am quite critical of poor staffing and must say I was bowled over by this young woman. This establishment should be very grateful to have her on board.
I love La Cabra! The jackfruit quesadilla w mango salsa and the frozen strawberry margarita is my favourite. Shoutout to Prince, Gagan and Bhandari the Gs!
We had a great time at this restaurant last week and our waitress was Grace who provided exceptional service and was very charming! Thanks la cabra and Grace
We had a really great lunch experience here with the family. The lunch specials were all really well priced and delicious and the kids really enjoyed the food.
Tacos were really fresh. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Didn’t like the music much. Hope to come back for the weekly specials.
Great food and service. But they charge 10% when paying with debit card without notice in advance.
Worsr quality of food…
Chips smells bad…
I would never recommend to any one
First time I order a burrito from here I thought I hit the jackpot, best burrito I ever had, then I order the same burrito twice and it was horrible. I order the chicken burrito yesterday and again, best chicken burrito I ever had, I order it today, and it wasn't as good. Its just so frustrating because I wish it was just consistent, like if I crave this burrito I need to gamble it, I might get the burrito I want, or a garbage burrito that I'm gonna be force to eat.why is it like this? Is it that hard to standardize the recipe?
Amazing place with wonderful food and very innovative drinks. Loved the Jalepeno Margaritas here and I had multiple vegeterian options. The cauliflower wings were to die for and loved the catus tacos.
I visited about a week ago and it was amazing! My Family and I were served by a friendly waitress called Grace! She was really helpful when we had questions about the drinks and food and was able to give us good recommendations.
The food and drinks were really good however I found the quesadilla very spicy even after I removed aspects such as the Jalapeno mayo.
Randomly drop in for early dinner and was pleasantly surprised. Quesadillas were fantastic and washed down with beer enjoying the sun. Plan to go there next time out that way.
