38Quality of food and service has dropped significantly in the recent months. Waitresses are impatient and the food doesn't taste the same, and salmon was not fresh. Very disappointed
One of the best authentic and affordable Japanese restaurants in this area. Service speed is very quick. Most of the staffs are friendly too.
Quick turnaround, clean and spacious dining environment for pram. Kid friendly and with vegetarian options.
Someone told us the price point in this restaurant is cheaper than its neighbor Japanese restaurant, Miku.
Well, spot on, but the price to pay is that everything we ordered (about 10 dishes) are smaller in size as compared to Miku.
Service and ambience are all good, but everything may need to order more given the smaller sizing. So at then end, it's not cost effective for an average tasting Japanese cuisine.
Deco is great but that's about it. I wanted to try this restaurant for a while since it is close to home. Very disappointed.
Beef tataki - meat not fresh with frozen food taste, too thick, no taste, shallot are not fresh.
Grilled pork belly - taste like rubber, skin not crispy, frozen food taste.
Tempura - low quality batter, mushroom chewy
Ramen - very ordinary
Spent $100 for lunch but the quality doesn't match. I can enjoy an exquisite $600 or a simple $50 Japanese meal, it is all in the small details. Can always tell whether there is love in the cooking or not.
If you’re looking for a really good Japanese restaurant with ambience and good food, you have to try Kuromatsu in Doncaster East. Their boneless chicken wings are the best! Other must eats are the Salmon Belly, and Kingfish carpaccio (it’s kingfish slices drizzled with ponzu sauce and mini yuzu balls giving that refreshing burst of tangi-ness). Their mackerel fish is cooked perfectly. Definitely a “must come back” rating for me.
Wonderful authentic Japanese restaurant.sushi & izakaya dining. Expansive menu & we enjoyed browsing & ordering from our table. Courses came out quickly & were all fresh & flavoursome. Efficient & friendly staff.
Our dinner tonight was great until the unagi maki served, we waited for a long time for this dish, but we were so disappointed with it. The rice was warm and gluggy, that made nori sheet soggy, and maki roll fell apart, couldn't form a roll. After we paid the bill I mentioned to the girl, she said that we could talk to the sushi chef, the sushi chef insisted the rice was cooked and prepared at 2pm in the afternoon, same as the rice used for other sushi, but we had sushi and sashimi platter, the rice was different, it wasn't warm and gluggy.
I would rather cancel this dish if he couldn't make it right. Gluggy sushi rice is a big NO NO for me to have sushi.
I'm wondering if I would go back to this restaurant again.
Came here with my partner and would never come back again. Food was terrible. Everything was frozen. Beef tataki came out still crystallised. The meat in the udon tasted like cardboard. Ordered chicken skewers but it came out still raw. We told the waiter about it but still was expected to pay for it. For the price point, I would expect this to be better. Doesn’t even deserve a one star honestly.
Never judge a book by its cover, never judge a restaurant by its front door.lol what a surprise! The interior looks amazing once you walk in. Their food were very delicious, highly recommended their grill skewers, smoky and tasty. Their sushi and sashimi were very fresh too, will be back to try more dishes.
The oyster and nigiri are not fresh at all and come with a smell. The beef tataki is even worse, straight out from the fridge and then serve. The atmosphere is good though.
Having been to Japan this place so authentic feeling. The food is great and the food came out really quick. Would recommend the
Spicy Karate and the Okinomiyaki. Will not dissapoint!
It is the most luxurious interior design in the Japanese restaurant! The products are varied, the ingredients are fresh, and the desserts are not too sweet. They are very healthy and cost-effective, attracting many regular customers.
Authentic Japanese cuisine. Spacious and comfortable setting. Prompt service & meal well-presented. Thumb up
Here for the third time. Service is getting worse and worse.
Tonight (Thursday) we were late for our booking at 6, we arrived at 630, we tried to call to say we are running late but nobody picks up phone.
Anyway, when we arrived, the waitress said “its now 6: 30, we gave the table to someone else” even though 70% of tables are still empty. She didn’t even asked if she could have the table back at 7: 30 or something
So i thought maybe those were all reserved, but when we left at 730. Still there were soooo many empty tables.
I dont know why we were targeted, we had a kid and i was pregnant, but we were told we can inly sit at the bar table. Despite so many tables were empty.
The food was really delicious, especially the karage, and the beef udon! The portion of the tofu salad is enormous, and we really liked the California roll, although they’re really big and filling as well! We were a bit disappointed with the pork belly which was really tough and dry. The desserts were also really nice, the charcoal ice cream especially:) we were a bit annoyed that a lot of the dishes on their websites were only available for takeaway but not for dine in which didn’t make much sense for us.like the tempura udon or ramen. And the service was a bit off that day, they kept giving us 2 or 3 sets of bowls/glasses when we were actually 4 people.
Great ambiance and decor in the restaurant! The quality of the food was great, but lots of small side dishes and not much selection of bigger dishes.portions are on the smaller side as well if you eat alot. Would be great if there were more main dish options (noodles, rice - only 2 noodle options for dinner)
Brilliant service and amazing food. Very impressed with even minor details such as paper towels for drying hands in the toilet, with a completely empty bin underneath. Wait staff were great even though busy. Will be back.
[edit] Just heard from sister in law, who also recommended.
What a wonderful restaurant. Delicious meals and extremely prompt service. Love the method of ordering on a pad that goes straight to the kitchen. Everything was not only presented well, but very nice on the taste buds. Just a word of warning, don't overdo the mains as desserts are quite good also.
Definitely worth a visit.
The food generally are fresh and well done. Ordering through an iPad is easy but we wish there's a section to put down a note to avoid or separate some of the ingredients. Overall it's a good experience.
