Should be called Kung Fu Japanese, so much more than sushi. Favourite honest dinner dine in
So much better than mall sushi. Delicious. Tastes like it was made today. I had one salmon, one brown rice and tuna, one crispy chicken. Scrumptious. You can tell I'm white by the use of the word scrumptious. Lol. But yeah nah, heckaz yeah would recommend. Perfect on a quiet weekday to nip in and fill up the tank. I take a picture but it's already in my belly. Super close to Ormond train station too.
The food was really good and fresh but in my opinion it is a little expensive for some of the portion sizes you get for certain items
Sushi place that prepares to the order.
The sushi is nice and flavourful. The sushi is prepared in a way where it is not deceptively filled.
Except to spend $3.80 per sushi roll here.
Wow! This is the freshest place to go to if you want sushi, sashami and all the other dishes.
Been coming here for years.
I rate it 6 star.
Support the local traders. JM.
Just popped back into the best Japanese place going around.
Order the sushi or sashimi, so fresh. We don't order from the kitchen. This place has been going nearly 11 years, see my photos from today.
Bento boxes very disappointing. Fried chicken was soggy and tasteless. The other items like spring rolls were also equally bland with no filling, all batter.
Sushi was all right but the rest of the hot food was pretty subpar. Fried chicken was soggy and tasteless. The other items like takoyaki and spring rolls were also equally bland.
Daniel is the greatest sushi chef in town! Amazing party platters for many years. Kids LOVE everything he makes!
Best sushi place in Ormond. Don't search for any other sushi place. Nice family business. Always taking sashimi as it's always fresh and delicious
Amazing sashimi - so fresh and delicious. Also quick and friendly service. Now one of our regular fave spots!
The Tuna Tataki here is amazing. All very fresh very authentic. Owner is lovely. Would be great if they created a little more atmosphere to make it more of a date spot. Other than that, sooo good
Ordered a bento box off deliveroo and it was incredible! Very tasty and filling meal. Would definitely order again
Awful meal. I thought from reading the reviews we would expect meals that were of higher quality. I ordered a vego bento box with teriyaki veggies. Sounded delicious. It was literally a box of fried food with a tiny portion of tasteless old looking vegetables. The tofu was tasteless and the miso soup was even more tasteless. The veggie gyozos that I ordered separately were soggy and tasteless. One of the worst meals I’ve had and it was not a cheap meal.
The sushi and sashimi here is always so fresh, everything I’ve ever ordered is amazing.every time I walk in they are always so welcoming.
Sushi ok, seafood miso awful. Very small portion, filled with dry overcooked salmon and a few prawn. No vegies and bland. Extremely disapointing
Been a regular here since it opened near my school in 2016/17? Very good sushi and the bald guy who runs the place is such a lovely man; is happy to make my order fresh for me every time and it is honestly 100x better than any store-bought sushi or the Kfc down the road.
Sushi was great, it is so popular it can run out, however staff will happily make more of whatever you want. Returning customer. Thank you.
Overpriced and overwhelming. Ordered a salmon nigiri platter and it didn’t feel all that fresh, the agedashi tofu was served with a heavy soy sauce and when we called to question it they said that was normal and couldn’t care less. Gyoza were ok but definitely not worth the $90 spent. Won’t be coming back
$20 for overpriced, small and bland sushi.
Ordered a raw tuna maki and a rainbow maki.
Tuna maki had the tiniest amount of tuna in it, all you could taste was rice. Even putting a bit of mayonnaise or something to stop it from tasting so dry and bland really could have gone a long way.
The rainbow maki was a bit better, the fish and avocado was fresh. But still tiny and needed some type of sauce as it was also dry.
Not worth it sadly: (
