Korchi City reviews
44 I went to this restaurant last Thursday with my friend at lunch time and that is also my first time to Korean food in Melbourne.
Good point
•Size of food was bigger than I expected.
•Very cheap for 1 dish included with 1 drink.
•Food we ordered were also good exp bulgogi, topoki
Bad point
•seats that staff arranged for us were quite small
So it was a good experience for my first time of Korean food in melbourne and I also recommend this restaurant to people who want to save money can come at lunch time.
Very nice black bean noodles and sweet & sour pork. Staff was very kind. He even gave us free extra rice.
Bibimbap was OK but not great. Only a few strips of beef on top. Egg was over cooked. Not much flavour.
On a quite spot on Little Bourke, this seemed like a place the locals knew about but maybe not others. It has its own style and system to ordering and get your own water, sauces and cutlery which we didn't mind once we worked it out. The place was busy and there were all sorts of dishes on the other tables that made us wonder what people were eating.
We had a couple of entrees, a familiar in tempura prawns which were good but the unknown prawn stuffed potato which also had crispy potato sting fries wrapped around the outside was fantastic.
Main was very quick to the table which was appreciated and was the Pork Bulgogi, a big serve full of saucy flavour and high on the spice side with some plain rice. Also had the usual 'free entree' taster plate with a very hot and spicy kimchi.
Loved this place and would definitely be back when in Melbourne it is a hidden gem (but maybe not to locals).
This place need to receive more attention. Starting from 15$ to 40$ per dishes, you have some classic korean dishes. We got the Chicken Bulgogi (18.95$) and Kimchi Tofu soup (18.8$), and the portion is reasonable, but if you can each much like me, it’s very generous. I highly recommend the Chicken Bulgogi, it was so delicious with a smoky taste and not spicy at all (but I would rather it with more spicy). The Soup was good but it was too much Kimchi, so it was a lil bit sour.
Pickle radish was easy to eat, not the most authentic flavour, but because it was not sour so I enjoy it so much.
The space was average but with this price in the CBD, I would recommend give it a try.
Ordered jjambbong, spicy seafood noodle soup. Lots of seafoods inside and very satisfied. Not too spicy. Free kimchi.
The best jajangmyeon, there’s something about it that’s different from other Korean restos. Would have been nice if the tangsuyuk was served along with the jajangmyeon and not after we finished it nonetheless, it was worthy.
Came in on a Friday night at 8pm and told they were already closed due to no more food. Not sure why they ran out of stuff when the place wasn't that busy when I arrived.
Good place for korean noodles, prices reasonable and the serving size is very generous, will come back
Really good taste
It’s a little bit expensive but food it’s really nice
Love it

When I came to the shop on 4/Jan /2023
ZhengBanJjaZang
Only have onions
Doesn’t have any seafood or meat
Really disappointed
Hope they can change like last year.
My friend recommend this shop.
We had jajangmyun, jjampong, tangsuyuk.
Massive potion, attractive tasty!
Thoese were just under $20/dish.
Great chinese food in town!
Will be back here regurly for trying rest of menu! Never make you hungry!
Food portion in here is huge indeed.
Yet they seems adding a lot MSG/ salt into the food
Feel extreme thirsty after having dinner in here.
In conclusion: if you wanna feel bloated&thirsty after having a meal, defo recommended this place.
Best of best.
Even Getting better.
I love self services for kimchi, pickle radishes…
Best jjajjangmyeon in town!
always on the top of my list on a cheat day or when i need something filling love the black bean sauce here since it doesn’t have that really strong (herbal) taste (idk how to describe it but the chunjang sauce here is mild and very much my taste? Their tang su yuk (sweet & sour pork) is so good, the flour coat is thick JUST enough not to be soggy by the sauce, but not to be too thick that you get sick of it.and the best thing about Korchi is you can have UNLIMITED kimchi & the yellow radish the portion is HUGE, def good value for money. If you decide to go for dinner, make sure to make reservation cause they usually have a long queue Highly recommend this place!

I ordered Jja jang myun and Tang Su yuk via Uber eats. Noodle was okay, but Tang Su yuk was so awful. It's not crispy at all, just too hard to chew. The pork was not fully cooked. It seemed like medium-well. What a disappointment.
Great food.great music.super nice staff.some of the best experiences of my life were in this restaurant.love it here <3
recommend!
This is my favourite Korean Restaurant in Melbourne.
They have a wide variety of Korean / chinese meals, My favourites are Bokeumbap, Jjam Bbong, Jjangmyen which are all soooo delicious and HUGE. I must mention also the prices here are great value, and I love how they have a self serve for your side dishes eg Kimchi, Tanmuji (radish). Service here is always friendly and prompt.
Super Affordable and Amazing quality, with big serving sizes jjajangmyun and bulgogi with free kimchi and pickled radish. Definitely recommending this place!
Appears to be very popular at lunch time. Staff are friendly, and the servings are very generous. Looks like the dishes are best shared between a couple of people. I had the beef bulgogi and it was delicious, although I had to add some hot sauce for a bit of piquancy. Help yourself to kimchi, pickles and a jug of water on the side table, get into the K-Pop videos playing on the TV, then dive in to some excellent Korean food!
Insane value for dollar at Korchi City and the food never disappoints. Big portions and unlimited kimichi and radish make for a fulfilling lunchtime meal. If you're ever in the need for a filling, value packed korean lunch, Korchi City is the place to go.
