Koomba Park reviews
31It’s a nice walk, lovely trees and wildlife. My dog loves it! Just stay on the track and avoid forest, gives a wired vibe, also men in the car park just stop and stare. Apart from that it’s a beautiful walk.
Went on a Monday afternoon. Evidence of men hooking up everywhere. Lots of rubbish. No toilets. Car park full of weirdos. My dog loved the walk though. Nice flat walk with not too many bikes.
This place is seriously dodgy. Some weird people down there just sitting in cars alone in carpark staring at people. Some cars there even very late at night around midnight even.
I like signs to lead to a destination.
The first sign said it was 900m to the park. Mr Cranky was already not enjoying the journey, but I thought I could draw out less than a “k”.
Several hundred meters later, a new sign said 1km to the park. By this stage I’d already worked out that the entire area was the park and that there was no pot of gold around the next corner.
So we walked back to the car. Many laughs were had and it was certainly precious time. Just not quite the experience I was hoping for.
The road to Birdhide is muddy and waterlogged
The building for bird observation is old and not well maintained
I do like this park; lots of little trails to explore. But the bird hide now looks out at one of the largest weed-pits I’ve seen in a long time. There is still one small pond that’s visible and quite pretty, and the trails are walkable. And there’s parking in a couple of spots.
Nice park that you can bring your dogs to. There's a big open area, an oval, tennis courts, a playground and a gravel carpark.
They are working on the oval at the moment and have blocked off the playground and oval.
The bike track is right there too making it a good spot to start from.
Nice place for a walk. A very peaceful and tranquil place amidst a busy suburb. Easy to get to.
Great place for a ride, but on a good weather day it does get a lot of people walking on the path.
Enjoyed the open space, playground was good for the children! Kids were super excited to see the kangaroos there, and some cows
This place is overall, gorgeous.
I came here along the way home from work, got a bite to eat and thankfully got to enjoy the sun while I was at it.
So many places to see and sit, so many parks for children and the bike paths seem just as amazing to ride through if that's what you choose. Everything was completely clean, I seen nothing that could danger energetic kids who would want to play too.
Genuinely does seem like the absolute ideal location for any occasion. Make sure to pack water and snacks, you'll likely be there awhile: D
Finding facilities for the kids is a challenge. There isn't very much in the way of playgrounds either.
No toilet available in this large park, which is really inconvenient. Lots of cyclists pass by, and you have to make way for them often, which makes the walking experience not enjoyable.
It was lovely just walking in the sunshine and listening to the birds. I live on a main road and it's nice to be able to go for a quick walk and be surrounded by nature.
Lovely place to walk the dog along the Dandenong Creek. Can seem a bit isolated south of Boronia Road on a week day but north to Canterbury Road is more open.
One of the greatest hidden gems for cycling, running or walking. A staple meeting place regularly for our running group. In the heart of suburbia, yet it feels like you're miles away from anywhere. And there are so many options for where to go and how far, and what type of scenery and terrain to take in.
If you are a professional rider or coming for a family bike ride experience with kids, this route is suited for all. Scenic route with good connectivity and toilets near the playground/parking.
Great dog exercise area, good views, wide open spaces and good trails leading in all directions.
Lovely place to walk, love the different trails and the various terrains! Quite busy with cyclists, so be aware of that, but off the main track, there’s plenty to explore. A good way to get out and spend some time with nature.
I like the quiet trails leading to Dandenong Creek. Other than that, the northern section of this park is primarily for cyclists racing on the single bike path, and pedestrians just have to carefully walk along the edge to avoid collision.
The overhead power lines do not add much to the scenery.
