Utterly sensational in every way. The special 5 course menu had inspired original takes on traditional dishes, top quality produce, and fascinating sake matchings. The service is super professional and warm, and it is a distinguished and calm ambience - very highly recommended!

This was our first visit to this hidden gem. On first entering the restaurant there's a quiet hum in the room. Along with the excellent acoustics, the art work also contributes to the sense of aesthetic enjoyment. We had the Omakase menu with matching sake and it was not short of brilliant. In terms of quality this is definitely a fine dining experience, but the staff were friendly and unpretentious. I loved my beautiful birthday surprise! Thank you!

I’ve been eating at Komeyui even before they move to a bigger place. And of course they never disappoint!

Their new place is bigger and have an ellegance ambiance, compare to their warm and classic japanese styled restaurant in their previous venue.

The food as always is AMAZING! Really loved the Ox tongue! They used to have a bigger portion but now they reduced the portion and the price too. All others are also delicious!

We booked at last minute so couldn’t try the omakase set. The staffs were nice and friendly, the chef even made one course jn the omakase menu after we expressed our interest.

Went there with my partner to celebrate my birthday, Bobby looked after us and he was so sweet! Will definitely want to go back and wish to see Bobby again.:)

Excellent service. And though you can tell that the quality of the food is great, some dishes weren't that nice. The portions were really small and it was just missing the wow factor that I would expect at that price tag.

Been visiting Komeyui since they started in Port Melbourne and now they’ve moved into a larger, brighter and more modern space in South Melbourne. Still serving the freshest sushi, sashimi but I am also obsessed with their blue cheese chawanmushi and spicy salmon nori crunch! Now they’re expanding and opening a Komeyui restaurant in Brisbane, can’t wait to visit that restaient too! ️

Had a wonderful time tonight! Super appreciative of Bobby whom made the extra effort, making sure we enjoyed ourselves and had a good night.

This place was beyond mine & my partners expectations from the moment we walked in the door. The staff were nothing short of amazing! Polite, friendly, helpful & everything was in a timely manner. The atmosphere was very welcoming with no hassle & bustle like most restaurants. The food was next level delicious with a wide variety on offer. Everything not only tasted like nothing we've ever had before, it was also magnificently presented with each plate we saw going out looking ALMOST too good to eat. We certainly will return.

Had Omakase lunch at Komeyui today. Sushi are heavenly good, restaurant has great calming ambience and friendly service from waitresses and chefs. Shoutout to chef Taan who is an absolute lovely company. Will definitely come back again.

Great traditional Japanese greeting at arrival! Very nice luxurious interior. New ramen was very nice, it has addictive soup! I found price to be reasonable as I pay similar at pancake shop! I want that ramen again now! Also located where easy to find parking! Recommend! 100% authentic Japanese!

My partner surprised me for my birthday and I was absolutely thrilled after experiencing the Omakase! It was truly a special night with outstanding food, delicious beverages, the warm and kind hostesses and wonderful chefs. I kept saying that I didn’t want to stop chewing each bite because then it would be over. Each dish is inventive, balanced and fresh. You won’t be disappointed!
