Kolonaki Athenian Street Food

To any Uber delivery, if they say, please wait 5 - 10 mins, and food is coming, in this case, you can cancel the order directly because you might end up waiting up to 30- 40 mins. They often click ready when food is not ready.

Ordered online, immediately says order is ready. Got there. Not ready remotely. Half of the staff working in the kitchen are snacking on the food as they are making it. Not very hygienic or professional.

I ordered chicken skewers and greek salad and was told it was a 15 to 20 minute wait. At 25 minutes I asked the young guy at the counter if he could check if my food had been forgotten because I was watching people who had ordered after me leave with theirs. He repeated the order back and didn't check. Following that conversation, another lady walked in, ordered food, paid for it, got her food and mouthed a sorry to me on the way out and so I was pretty mad by then. I pointed out the 35 min wait and got a look of "you are so demanding (and explanation- it's the chicken skewers, they take a long time). The group around me at that point, planning on eating in, actually walked out. At 40 mins, my food arrived. If you want to eat here, order uber or eat in. They prioritise uber eats over take away. As for a 40 minute wait, I was at the point of walking out without it and was going to say that, but I got mad at the explanation and grimace as if I were being unreasonable, so I changed my conversation to "Move". That was just not cool. That needs a new process guys. That's a business. Sort it out. That's not me being unreasonable - that's on you. You cannot tell someone that it's a 15 to 20 min wait and then make it 40 mins. That's super bad. You gotta come up with a better plan for those take away chicken skewers! (and you should probably refund after 40 minutes of waiting) I will take this down after someone who owns this business reads it, and fixes the process because to have that response to asking if my food was forgotten wasn't great. It just wasn't great - nor is the chicken skewer food production line for take away orders. It was going to be a happy night with some good food and it just wasn't. Be great. Don't be average.

Staff always on the ball they are friendly and always willing to accommodate when possible. The owner and eldest son are extremely nice people. Don't be shocked to see they are Asian in a Greek restaurant. The food is as good if not better than our favourite food cafes in Oakley. Trust me, I am fussy (not a large menu like Oakley different, but yum)
My only complaint is they are closed on a Sunday I suppose everyone needs a break.

Very good and well prepared dishes. Had the pork skewers plate which was decent and as it should be! The skepasti was very good, as it should be. Very happy, will come again!

My favorite souvlaki in Melbourne! It’s like I’m having a real Greek souvlaki in Athens. Juicy, fresh ingredients and sooo tastyyyyy. 5*?

Attended on a busy Sat evening.
Chicken gyros plate had reasonable portions. Chicken very tasty, chips well seasoned, salad not dry and evenly dressed.

Food quality, portion size and customer service is very good. The taste is great and for sure will go second time.

I've seen this place on Instagram for ages and admired how good the food looks. Finally got to try it out! It did not disappoint. Generous servings, full of flavour. A little bit oily but overall very delicious.
We were served by some young men who were maybe quite new to the job as the service was lacking but just putting that down to lack of experience. Not a e big restaurant, it seemed more popular for takeaways.

This place is phenomenal. My regret in telling people how good it is, is that more people will eat here. The halloumi chips are to die for. Do definitely keep this place as a treat when we order out because everything is so rich and mouthwatering. The ancient grain salad is a must too. Everything is fantastic. My only critic is it's so difficult to get hold of them on the phone to make an order, as they're always engaged or too busy to pick up the phone. Victims of their own success!

Delicious food! We've ordered both delivery and dined in and the food was always exceptional. Big portions worth the money. Happy customer!

I really enjoyed the restaurant and one of the staff was very enthusiastic and gentle. He help us understand the different dishes and give us some advice on how to order. It was a very heartwarming experience and I'm sure we will come back again soon. Everything was fresh and delicious. It's just that the size are a little too big for the Chinese girls, so that I recommend 2 people order one meal.

I posted a review over 2 years ago that was a 5 star review! I felt compelled to post another one now. The food is still outstanding but it is total chaos here! Most of the the staff are young kids that have no idea what’s going on. I have never attended a place that has such poor systems. People wait in the same line to get a table, order take away, pick up take away or Uber eats and the like to pick orders up. No one knows what’s going on! If you want to phone for an order or reservation you can never get through and if you finallly do, they can’t hear you! As I said the food is great but be prepared for frustration and chaos here

Had an amazing feast at Kolonaki! Very authentic Greek/Athenian street food️ Service is lovely and make sure you try the dessert too?

Because everything was so near perfect I'm just going to start with the only things that weren't great. 1) they need bigger tables. At least one setting for groups larger than 5 people. 2) the inside needs more aircon. It be kinda warm inside even on a 22° day. Food was amazing. Freshly cooked to perfection. Tantalising to the last bite. I don't know much about Greek food so I can't tell if authentic is a good way to describe it, but gosh, it was delicious.

The food is the best! Im a coeliac and have never had a contamination issue here. The servings are plenty and the food is just so tasty. My husband and i have been here few times now because its so good. And the staff are so nice and friendly. Its not a big place for big groups but we love going here. Definitely a must if you love souvas!

Food was excellent. We ordered the lamb gyros open souvlaki. Enjoyed it. Also the Ancient grain salad. Very nice.

Always busy as we drive to Coles so decided to check it out on New Years Eve while it was quiet.

Food was delicious, service was good, reasonably priced, chips and pita bread were amazing. 100% will go back again.

For dessert, we had:

BAKLAVA
Layered pastry dessert made of filo pastry, filled with chopped variety of nuts, and sweetened with syrup
*loving all the layers of nuts bits, crunch and sweetness of the syrup. Not too sweet for me, which was good!

GALAKTOBOUREKO
Semolina custard baked in filo pastry.
*deliciously smooth custard

A cute place to stop for a lunch snack- with a Lamb Gyros Heaven! Extremely happy to pay $14.50 for a soft home made tasting wrap with all the fresh ingredients inside. The Lamb is the best I’ve tried yet! Generous serving with zingy Tzatziki. Absolute flavour till the end! Highly recommend with photos showing the terrific quality! Delightful staff & very clean. Enjoy your ‘Taste of Greece’.
