Koko Black - Town Hall reviews
25 Chocolate Heaven
I first tasted this chocolate in an event I attended. They were giving away nougat starry night. And I loved it the moment I tasted it. It was deliciously sweet.
So when I saw this store, I really stopped by and went inside to find out more. It really felt like chocolate heaven. I bet I could find any kind of chocolate from this lovely place.
But I was here because of the nougat starry night, so I asked again for the same flavor and their best seller. The staff recommended hazelnut and cocoa bits. And she was right. I also liked it aside from I am already a "hazelnut bias".
Oh, I would love to go back here and try those chocolates again, their other flavors and their hot chocolate drink. This could be one of my happy place to go to whenever I am in a good or in a gloomy mood.
So bad experience.
I bought like 480 aud for gift, employee give me just one bag. The bag seem notstrong enough to carry and so heavy. I ask for more bag but she give me one medium and one small. We go to the shop for 5 people, we should get 5 bags as ur policy. At least, employee should tell me to separate the bill.
Every time I come aus i went to coco black shop, this we be the last time and Koko black wont get my money anymore.
Ordered the hot chocolate (not the $8 version). Dont bother with it. It was tepid and couldn't taste the chocolate. Not up to standard of other places. Either go elsewhere or pay the $8.
Very kind and helpful service. Franchesca helped me choose dairy free chocolates and made my visit more satisfying:). Would buy again
Pricey, but it seems worth checking it out based on the interesting flavours available. The guy with the long hair and piercings was very nice and helpful as well.
Were told to wait for a free table, waited 40 minutes and the table was given to two new customers
I'm really disappointed. I'd previously had one of the best coffees I'd had in Melbourne, at Koko Black in Carlton. But this one- a long black - was weak and lacking in any depth of flavour.
Got their hot chocolate, and it tasted so different from the other shops, this one tasted super amazing. Not a chocolate drink lover but will def come back for this.
Tried their pop up bar opp to the shop…
Love the chocolate ice cream for my ice chocolate…
Staff is very friendly
A great place for handmade chocolates. Hayley was so friendly and gave me a good selection of chocolates. Highly recommended.
A decent store, bit on the smaller side with less things I've noticed. There are some decent deals to get better value out of your shop here at least.
Spectacular display cases of various chocolates to build your own box or choose from a myriad of packaged options.
The Hot Chocolate cart outside is a superb addition.
Oh Rachel
You did well Honney.
I do love chocolate but was hoping to walk out without any, but you were friendly and did your best to give a unique experience.
You did very well and that’s how great of service should be.
Thank you.
I recently visited this place. Highly recommended to taste their hot chocolate. Hazelnut flavored hot chocolate was really good. That was the best hot chocolate I ever had in Australia. You will regret if you miss this place. A must visit place when you are in Melbourne CBD.
Ordered a latte and a Belgium hot chocolate in a Sunday afternoon. Coffee was dull, hot chocolate was super sweet and thick. Paid $11.50. I can order a latte and a hot chocolate paid one third of the price in the servo and still taste better.
One of the best places for an indulgent treat. The staff have always been extremely warm and friendly. I love their products. I only wish they were not so expensive, but it is what it is for premium chocolate. Thier Easter and Christmas ranges are increasingly impressive each year - they release a lot of interesting new items and the pricing is not unreasonable (unlike a certain other competitor). Their salted caramel is next level and highly recommended for any caramel fan, you can find it as a truffle or easter egg filling.
Coffee at Koko Black, Melbourne Town Hall.
A very nice cup at the right temperature and served with a smile.
I needed a coffee and didn't realise that they are about chocolate so next time I’ll try a hot chocolate. And I'll have to check out the store.
Friendly, helpful service. The assistant asked what celebration I was selecting for. Great experience.
Got iced chcolate from a pop up stand (?). (Been there for few years at least before pandemic)
Not busy, very conveient, super quick service, young barista lady was friendly and professional. No ice in iced chocolate which was good because one of other shops added ice which I didn't like at all. They grabbed a cup which already had ice cream from fridge.
They accepted amex without minimum charge and fee which was great.
I will be back again.
Store is offline on Deliveroo and I can't order an iced chocolate on uber eats. Sort out your systems
