Firstly l must say Sammi is the most wonderful manager this property could employ. For her 5 stars. Unfortunately NO WAY is this once beautiful grand old house anywhere near that rating. The owners need to spend BIG bucks on bringing the house up to the standard it should be. To charge the price they do is not in keeping with other beautiful similar properties in Victoria.

What a beautiful place to stay Sammi and Shelby went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The bed was so comfortable and the food was amazing. Sammi even had a glass of wine on arrival. We will definitely stay there again

Warm friendly atmosphere (Sam and Shelby are the best hosts) nothing's to much bother,
Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to base yourself while going to any of the local wineries

Sammi and Shelby looked after us so well. What a beautiful establishment, brilliant location and we can't wait to return next year with the new friends that we met while we stayed here. Thanks once again.

Hi Sammi, Lyn and I had a wonderful stay at Koendidda, thanks to your help and advice and looking after all our needs. The property has been well maintained thanks to your ongoing attention. Knowing Lyn loves the character of these old properties, I was very happy to find yours, and it makes for a great stay with someone like you. Regards Lyn and Harry

Koendidda is a tranquil retreat.a great place to return to after visiting the nearby wineries. Host, Sammi and puppy Shelby were very welcoming and attentive. Enjoyed the well appointed rooms, great breakfast and loved having a wine on the balcony. Thanks, Ivano & Liz

Beautiful garden. Lovely house. Comfortable room. Nice bed and toiletries. Yummy cooked breakfast. Would be great if they maintained the garden and the house a bit more. Balcony seats were dusty and had stains. Could have avoided easily by covering it or placing a throw rug. Pets are allowed. Glad they open their house so we can experience a bit of country house atmosphere. A bit too pricey. $ 200 to & $ 220 would be more reasonable.

Amazing place to base yourself in for visiting Rutherglen and district wineries. The host Sammi could not have been more helpful and made us feel right at home in this beautiful historic house.

My wife and I have just ended a memorable five day stay at the elegant Grand Old Lady Country house called Koendidda, built in the 1860s. Today, it is still in great condition and offers very comfortable accommodation.
Set back from a gravel road and well away from a sealed road, with no other dwellings nearby and surrounded by farm land, you get to experience only the sounds of country life.
The mansion is full of paintings and beautiful antique furniture from another era. The dining room tables are some 200 years old and in beautiful condition. As soon as you enter through the front door, you are stunned by the incredibly wide hallway, very high ceilings and very wide skirting boards and architraves. The rooms are all very large and comfortably furnished and we enjoyed a cosy fire in the evenings.
The house is set amongst a variety of mature trees, some of which were stunning with autumn colours. On the east side are many comfortable cane chairs to sit in to enjoy the morning sun.
Lastly, our experience would not have been the same without the wonderful host, Sammi. She is so friendly and helpful and a people's person. And a mention has to be made of her Cavoodle, Shelby and black cat, Luna who gave us so much pleasure when we were around them. We enjoyed breakfast in the elegant dining room where a cooked breakfast was served as well as continental.
Our experience at Koendidda would be rated right up there as one of the best. We thank you Sammi for being a great host and to get to know you.

Management and premises.
Koendidda was everything and more than we were hoping for. The manor was very warm and inviting. Guests had the option of several well appointed and cosy sitting rooms at their disposal with a lovely fire which encouraged you to sit and mingle with a glass of local wine with fellow guests which was very pleasant in the evenings. Tea, coffee etc is available throughout the day from the breakfast room should you want it.
Breakfast is around a shared dining table any time from 7.30am with cereal, fruit, toast, jam, juice etc plus a lovely fully cooked breakfast should you feel like more. The grounds are very pleasant and the surrounding countryside is fantastic. Dinner at the local pub (5min drive) was very good too. Koendidda is a short drive to Rutherglen, Albury / Wodonga & Howlong (great cafe here).
Sammi, the manager (along with Shelby her delightful little dog), are a delight and really are what make your stay so enjoyable. Nothing is too much trouble and Sammi makes you feel like you have “come home”.
We cannot recommend this stay high enough, indulge and book a weekend here.
We certainly will be coming back.

What a great place to spend 2 or 3 days in this wonderful 160 year old country home, ideally located between Rutherglen, Beechworth and Yackandandah.
Rooms are spotless and spacious.
Sammi is a super host who provided us with excellent daily breakfasts and a super evening meal.

We had the most wonderful stay here! We can't rate this place more highly. Samantha is absolutely a beautiful person and a great hostess and was so warm and welcoming. Shelby the puppy is adorable:) The grounds are better than the botanical gardens and we loved the place so much we barely left the property the whole weekend, despite having plans of visiting the local region and wineries. We preferred to sit on the balcony and drink wine and have a cheese platter (which you can purchase on property). Just a delightful stay all around. Huge thanks to Samantha (and Shelby and Luna the cat).

Very friendly management, the facility was very clean and well presented, lovely eooms and excellent bedding, although we only had breakfast each day there were simple meals avaliable and BBQ facilities, local pub was also a pleasant surprise.

We purchased a 3 night stay through luxury escapes and enjoyed great hospitality, nice garden and daily cooked breakfasts which was a treat.however, we were quite disappointed as we would not consider the shabby mansion as luxurious.the once magnificent mansion is now decaying with cracked walls and needs at least a coat of paint.our supposedly king size room was really the size of a double and we were given 1 bath towel each and 1 hand towel + 1 face towel to share between 2 people.we had a small cake of soap for the shower, none for the bathroom sink, no lotions nor shampoo was provided.we just don't feel that koendidda house in the current state should be listed in the luxury category.

We had a great stay at Koendidda Country House. It was an amazing historic building in a natural setting. The location was great for exploring the local area. The host was excellent and we had the tasty seafood platter for dinner. Breakfast was also great.
