Knox Skate & BMX Park reviews
18The team at the YMCA make this place friendly and a fantastic place to take the kids. They have excellent school holiday programs to support all ability levels as well as fun art sessions run by Fiona.
Not the best place for a scooter, but a nice crowd make it a good spot. There are some sketchy bowls and ramps for a scoot, but you just have to try a little harder. YMCA people are really good.
Great atmosphere and good facilities. Skate park is well kept and there's places for people with skills to skate but also places for people like me (who's greatest achievement is going in a straight line) to ride too. Also they've recently added a "chill room" which is a great place to, well, chill. Others at the park I've met have seemed friendly too.
Great proper BMX track, except for all the speed humps
May have to venture out mid week while the kiddies are where they should be
What a great facility for young kids to spend time. The YMCA does a great job supporting and encouraging all kids of different abilities, making everyone feel welcome. The school holiday program was excellent, hours of entertainment without costing a fortune, keeping kids active and outdoors. Thanks Fiona and team
Awesome facility great for scooters boards and bikes. More for intermediate to advanced riders. Not so beginner friendly.
Nice lines and big enough for a few people. Lots of cracks and easy for people to get their wheels stuck.
Good Skate Park for boarders but not really for others. No parking nearby nor any toilets I could find. One drinking fountain though.
The response from the owner confirms what I have said. Not a good place for scooters. Also be warned that parking is a long way away.
No nearby toilet as confirmed by the owner.
Good setup. Carpark is a mudpit. There's a few minor bits of concrete rot, but they can be avoided.
Poorly designed park that doesn't really flow at all. The big bowl is nice to skate, smaller one feels to tight, awkward shape and isn't very fun to skate. For a good size skate park there is a lot of wasted space and the street section is a let down. The plaza style set up has plenty of nice ledges. That's about it. There isn't too many different lines to play with and you get bored very quickly. Out of all the new parks in the area, this is easily the worst
So good to find parks like this still around. The skate park has areas ranging in difficulty up to advanced. Has free water fountains, bins, seats and cover. Lights at night and parking near by
Good Skate Park for boarders but not really for others. No parking nearby nor any toilets I could find. One drinking fountain though.
Great skate park, was only going for a while but discovered they had free lessons for the kids for bmx, scooter & skateboarding. No public toilets though located across the road
There are a range of ramps, two pools, some steps, some bars to grind and three bubblers
It is also across the road from knox shops which has iga, fish and chips and some chineese and indian food.
Not what was planned years ago, but kinda fun nonetheless. Hope you get it empty, as street section is tight
I think it's fair to say this is the best Skatepark in Melbourne. Not only does it provide worldclass facilities (with an upgrade soon to come) as well as free YMCA run BMX, Scooter & Skateboarding lessons, but you wouldn't find a nicer bunch of locals anywhere else!
A fantastic destination for a the kids and adults alike even the whole family to get out side. Its just a great place for people to get out side and away from being stuck in side watching tv or playing video games. We need more places like this.
Awesome skate park. Some travel for 30 minutes just to get here. There is a facebook group that runs free training on Saturday's.
