Kingswim Dingley reviews
14We’ve been swimming with Kings, Dingley for the past 10 years. Staff are lovely and helpful, teachers are well trained and the programs are very well structured. My kids have loved learning to swim over the years and continue to look forward to getting into the water each week for their lesson.
I have been a parent of swimmers in infant lessons through to beginner independent lessons since December of 2020.
We began lessons at kingswim frankston and then transferred to kingswim dingley.
I would say I have 3 key favourite things about kingswim dingley.
The first being the team is extremely friendly, I feel that they go the extra mile to really know their customers.
The second, if anything isn’t right, short staffed or something the staff are always very apologetic and do everything they can to accommodate all their customers.
The third thing would be the positive impact it has had on my kids and my 2 children absolutely love attending.
My daughter teaches her teddies swimming and has named two of her teddies after her teachers Karli and Mia.
5 stars for some of the instructors
1 start for the others - class cancelled 3 out of 4 weeks - 15 minutes before starting due to instructor being ill (definitely not hungover)
1 star for the admin staff at head office - rude, not flexible and just all round horrible to deal with
We were first recommended by friends (who had kids in the Kingswim) to try Kingswim @ Dingley Village as we were struggling with previous place) and we were not disappointed. Staff at this Kingswim centre have been amazing, they’re so good and focussed at teaching. In only 6 months, our daughter has improved so much and now very confident in the water. Our only regret is we didn’t know this place sooner. (And we know few other parents who feel the same way). Definitely recommend!
On the 27th February 2023, our son (aged 9) was attending his regular swimming lesson at the KingSwim facility located in Dingley Victoria. Our family has been part of KingSwim Dingley for over 10 years now.
Upon completion of his lesson (and as usual), our son proceeded to the open showers next to the pool to wash off. During his shower, he tried to adjust the shower head to point downwards onto himself. At this point, the shower head fell off the wall, landed on his left foot and onto his big toe. This caused a significant injury to the area of which the local team responded.
The local Dingley staff provided first aid and gave our son Gatorade, due to the massive blood loss experienced from the injury.
Our son then required hospital admission, which resulted in three stitches and further treatment for infection to the direct area.
We were advised by the local KingSwim team, that the coming lessons our son could not attend were to be credited (we have been charged for all lessons), an incident report would be emailed to us directly and that head office and a safety officer were to contact us.
Other than an initial phone call to check on our son, this never happened.
We have had to chase them continuously which has resulted in numerous hours on the phone having to explain the situation to various customer service representatives of KingSwim, who continue to advise us that management is busy and that they will contact us.
Our current issue is the lack of communication between KingSwim and our family and their refusal to offer us the incident report, due to it being “their IP. ”
This issue has gone on for weeks with two area managers, an executive manager and customer service reps amongst others being contacted by us, yet nothing in return or the default "we cannot share this as it is our IP".
Apparently, everyone is in meetings and extremely busy and unable to explain why they cannot provide at the very least a first aid report and a reason as to why we have been charged for the lessons our son has not attended due to his injury.
This message serves as a warning to others attending KingSwim, that in the unlikely event you are injured on their premises, that you could potentially expect complete silence or your concerns dismissed from the local facility and head office.
Great experience for a first time visit for a baby play session. Greeted and informed by reception staff very well. Instructor was fantastic with babies (and parents). It was a fun and confidence boosting activity.
Love the teachers and the programs, the administration staff though as so unhelpful! The fee schedule is so confusing and we were refused entry to our swimming class because of unpaid fees that the centre manager told us she would look into, she never got back to us and we were turned away again but the next months fees were taken out. So they took money out, but my kids could not go but no communication was given to us either. The girls at the reception are exceptionally rude as well.
Lessons and instructors were great.very friendly staff all around and they do their best to make you and little one feel comfortable with the pace.my only gripe is the monthly membership and how difficult we found it to reschedule a lesson.they only open bookings 6 days at a time i found that very limited spaces are available if at all as classes seemed limited and most classes already booked out weekly by regulars.made it impossible for us to find a replacement class and ended up cancelling membership for the time being for this reason.might resume again when our little one has a steadier schedule to avoid losing money on lessons we cant attend as chances of finding a replacement class seemed too slim.also upon cancelling we had no idea we only had the 1 week to reschedule our missed lesson, staff only brought it to my attention when I was trying to reschedule it.
Love the team at Kingswim in Dingley. They are patient, caring and make the whole learning to swim experience fun for not only the kids, but the parents too. A big shout out to Bec & Jody who are amazing ambassadors of the Kingswim brand and are the reasons we keep coming back every week.
Absolutely fantastic program. My 12 year old has just finished and is way above where we expected her to be. Our 6 year old is coming on leaps and bounds thanks to the superb tuition he receives. The staff at Kingswim Dingley are the best.
I highly recommend kingswim Dingley after 6 years of swimming lessons on and off. FINALLY we find the right place. 30min of real swimming great
Staff and instructors. My son loved it Good job guys
It's about time something is done about the state of the pool, changing room and showers.
It's a health and structure hazard and disgrace to the community. Sunday afternoon the pool was filthy with particles floating around, dirt at the bottom of the pool. Pictures attached speak for themselves.
Stop cutting corners and maintain the place as it should be.
Too much chlorine compared to other pools.
VERY bad customer service, only nice when you hand your money over, will not be going again
Warren from Kingswim in Dingley is an exceptional teacher. He has taught both of my daughters since the were 6 months. He’s energetic, passionate and unbelievably patient. What a swim teacher!
