Kingston City Hall reviews
18I love Kingston City Hall. I have been coming here for years and years - literally as when I was a kid my primary school did a concert here! But more recently have been to comedy shows (Arj Barker, Jimeon, Stephen K. Amos, Bob Franklin, Dolly Diamond and more) and concerts (Scott Carne and friends doing Queen), Symphony Orchestra (doing John Williams music) and even my old primary school's school spectacular! So something for everyone. Easy to get to too, if you can't walk here, then carpark is available, and it's right next to Moorabbin train station. Look out for the old clock on what used to be the Moirabbin Town Hall but is now Kingston City Hall. Or what Arj Barker jokingly called Moor-a-bin! (Note I did a review over 2 years ago but it disappeared so have done again, sorry to all the people who read original, here's a new old one!).
Attended a beaut organ recital yesterday.the organist was terrific as were the Maroo dah singers who were guest artists.full marks to all who organised
As a member of Melbourne Theatre Organ I attended their Christmas Dinner and a wonderful concert on the Wurlitzer theatre organ.
Kingston City Hall is much improved after the renovations. Is a pity everything from the Cafe is sold in disposable cups or in single use bags. Not very environmentally aware.
Saw Ahn Do. Such an amazing man. Loved every minute. The only thing I would change, are the seats. I have a permanent spinal injury, so comfort is important. The chairs were small, with maybe less than an inch of padding. By the time the show finished I was in a lot of pain.
People here need to learn manners on how to speak. Specially the security needs to be trained on how to speak with people.
Sooo rude and never recommend this centre to anyone.
No fixed chairs and chairs are too small, get ready to share the weight of the people sitting beside you.
Also, please remember, DO NOT move your seats a little else security will jump in and will start threatening you and will try to showcase their power.
Nice building though not enough parking provided when I was there. Easy to find and access otherwise.
A complex that can be hired for various events like conferences, workshops, presentations. Consists of Grand Hall, Banquet Room and 2 x Meeting Rooms. Conveniently located closed to Moorabin Railway Station.
The team at Kingston city council are really working hard to help small businesses rebuild after the very painful issues attributed to the financial and mental hardship crisis created by the covid 19 lockdown
Attended a pop up music event here on a Friday evening. It was held in the car park and was well organised- staff were helpful, plenty of seating. Only thing that would have made it better was there could have been a few more food trucks to choose from.
Large theatre with good acoustics, and many different rooms for multiple purposes. Very accommodating and perfect for concerts or events.
Parking is a nightmare but right on top of a train station. Useful place to rent out but it's looking old and tired.
Have my first graduation ceremony here still looks the same.
I believe it would be amazing with some TLC.
Attended the Victoria state championship IFBB small venue to watch the event, visually restricted
We paid decent money to see the show which I won't name as I am sure my issue is not with him. The chairs provided were very uncomfortable and very close together that adults who saw this show could hardly sit on them as they were more suited for children.
I won't be going to see another show here as there is no thought for the people, only money taken by the hall.
Maybe the show should look into this as well, and think about its fans, but I believe the hall taking the money needs to think about people sitting for over an hour when placing seats.
Great event, but new rule of no wax on floor made our dancing event very slippery and dangerous.
This is a small cafe located on the ground floor foyer area of the refurbished Kingston City Hall. The cafe serves both hot and cold drinks as well as basic food items and snacks. There's bench seating in the area directly in front of the cafe as well as seating in the Hall's foyer area. The coffee andservice are good.
