Kings Domain reviews
21Lovely park close to the city.botanical garden is next doors and is better however this park is a nice general park with more open spaces.
I run through here quite often. It has some nice city views and lovely chilled park benches and water fountains. Some on leash dogos running around. Very peaceful.
Every section is well cosidered and thoughtfully, if minimally planted, swayles where apt. Therein the Hellenic Pavillion presents an interesting concept with white pillars and small black granite cubes —It smacks of (the obvious comparison) the Jewish holocaust memorial in Berlin, actually. Trouble is, here the concept does not translate into a coherent monument.so much more’s the pity.
I walked out of this barber with a million dollar face, no jokes. I loved the idea of having a Martini during a haircut. Go and see the KING
02/05/2021 There for the Vida Latin Festival. Looked like it was put together at the last possible minute. Not comfortable, long queues for food and drink, general chaos at most vendors' stalls. Gives us Hispanics a bad name. We can do so much better than that
A must go even if you are in Melbourne for a few days. Well spread out, great architecture and lovely lushes suitable for a family picnic if you are up for it.
Nice nature area but tram stop a little misleading.
When you alight at the Shrine tram stop (stop 19) it is not immediately obvious where the Shrine is. You need to walk a few more yards towards St Kilda then steps to the left will lead up to the Shrine. There should be a clear sign to guide tourists.
Lovely park, plenty of parking, such a scerene and relaxing place among the hustle and bustle of Melbourne cbd.
Such a beautiful and emotion filled place, makes you appreciate what one has and to remember the sad price that humanity has paid
Public toilets are hard to find
if you know the area you'll find them inside the memorial, otherwise it's a long walk between toilets.the trams are a nuisance and can be quite hazardous it would be best to remove the tram network.
Serenity, peacefulness here is striking! Very sombre, war memorial. Pl visit whenever you are in Melbourne.
Nice scenery at the Kings Domain.
This place is just a short walk from the Royal Botanic Garden after the observatory.
You would somehow got the European feeling at this place.
Overlooking the Melbourne city skyscrapers view from the domain feels great.
At the evening, there will be a flag descending ceremony to respect those sacrificed for the country.
It was a nice walk at this place at evening.
Amazing place for locals and tourists alike. Lots of walking and running tracks and immaculate gardens!
Absolute must visit for all Australians and visitors. The view from the top of the shrine of rememberance and the crypt underneath it. Great history and artefacts
Amazing! We run 5k around the parks here with the Adidas Runners team. If you want to join us we meet every Wednesday night 5.45pm at the Pillars of Wisdom. Its totally free!
Lovely exhibition that opens people’s eyes on Australian involvement in world wars. Very interesting material and an interactive map of the world on peace that was amazing! Spent easily 15 minutes playing and learning with it. It was amazing.
Shrine of remembrance - allows visitors to pause and remember & pay respect to those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in service to this nation. Good place to view Melbourne city & surrounds too.
Great park right next to Melbourne's Central Business District. Only a few minutes from Flinders Street Station, this park is one of the most spacious and beautiful in Melbourne. The park is full of statues and information, giving one a great deal of knowledge on Melbourne's history. Set aside a morning and explore, you won't regret it.
I hope wars can be avoided with some rational thought process going forward. This is a memorial to world war 2
