I love this place, the building, the products & the friendly knowledgeable staff.
I went to a sashiko class here (and within minutes had purchased a stunning gold embroidered wedding kimono that was on display. It was an excellent price and superb quality). The sashiko class was interesting, informative and worth the investment. The shop itself is full of lovely things from genuine Japanese fabrics, to gorgeous sewing threads and implements, to patterns, to some charming finished objects. Well worth a peep.
This is a treasure trove of things Japanese - you can browse for hours and you would still miss something! Fantastic staff and ambience - if you are into sewing, quilting, classes, crafty or just want to see something fantastic get yourself over to the Nicholas Building and visit Kimono House. Great website as well
Great place to purchase Japanese material, Japanese handy crafts and tools. There is a regular exhibition there to the side of the shop.
