Kimchi Hut reviews
49Great food, warm atmosphere and was served by a gentleman named Kevin who went above and beyond. Excellent customer service!
Amazing food with the best table service. I have tried so many K-BBQ but this is 10 out of 10. BBQ, kim chi and beancurd soup.l and a lot of delicious original Korean food.love it.high recommendation
Had Decades dining experience here
Octopus-Ball still tasty as per usual
Soy bean spicy seafood is okay taste (expect more specify though), potion of seafood very much worth $20 compare other places
The only downside is All snacks (especially Kimchi) taste bitter, and this bitter tasty absolute makes no sense, no matter which season to make Kimchi.
ORDERED:
? Fried dumplings (12 pieces)
Beancurd soup: Mild soft beancurd soup with veggies, egg, pork and kimchi ($18.90)
Rice ($3.00)
REVIEW:
We came right when they opened at 12pm on a weekend. Even though we didn't have a booking, we were still able to nab a seat. Luckily we came early - it got packed quite quickly!
I loved how the dumplings came with mushrooms on top. This isn't a common occurrence, but didn't detract from the dumplings. Fried well, they're simple and a great start to the courses.
Banchan (side) dishes had a decent selection. It features the classic kimchi, pasta salad, soy sauce seasoned potatoes and a cucumber side. After our second refill of the cucumbers, it came out unpleasantly warm.but still edible.
Loveeeed the soondoobu (beancurd soup). Incredibly soft beancurd and sooo much of it as well. When you order this at other korean joints, they focus primarily on the pork and kimchi but instead here they give tofu the spotlight it deserves. It's creamy, and so well cooked. Possibly the best I've ever had!
A great recommendation from a friend, for a no fuss joint. Kimchi Hut is tucked away in the corner, but definitely delivers quality food.
I went here to have dinner with friends and family before. On last sunday, I booked for 8 people around 5: 30pm but when I called someone said ok and not ask name to book then said bye bye. When we came, the lady, maybe she a manager there, she said: why don’t say name when I called to book, she asked us to get out the restaurant to wait while restaurant wasn’t busy and the weather was so cold outside.we accepted to wait because we invited some friends to have dinner there. After she asked us to come inside but said only 1hour to have finish our dinner. While we waited for ordering food, my friend saw a dirty bowl, and talked with that lady about that, she took it away and took new one let our table strongly We ordered foods. 1 food we didn’t order, but they made and brought out when she came, we talked with her about that, (but we said we will pay, just let her know) she looked at my friend, didn’t ask anything and said: you wrong order and took that food go away rudely. We said we wanted to enjoy our dinner, didn’t want to argue, she looked at us and went into kitchen. Then we asked for more kimchi for 8 people, we had to wait more 15minutes to get a little one. We had to pay much money for that dinner but didn’t enjoy because the lady’s attitude. Can’t believe how she can treat with customers. So rude and bad service
I had very bad experience from this restaurant. They gave me very old and burnt steam rice. Seafood pan cake had no flavour, fry and spicy chicken had just very tiny pieces of chicken with a lot fry powder around it and also expensive. I didn't get what I paid for, I felt very disappointed.
Sorry I wouldn't recommend to this restaurant and will not go back.
Highly recommend! We bring all our friends here when we are craving korean bbq. The service is always good and the staff are super friendly and accomodating. Food has always hit the spot. Love it!
Good food and great customer service with attention to details.
Give the chicken ribs a try. It is something different.

Delicious authentic Korean food. Quick friendly service. Always packed so make sure you make a reservation or turn up early for dinner time.
My absolute favourite Korean restaurant. In fact I won't eat at any other. Staff are friendly and on point, the food tastes fresh and never disappoints. A true 10 out of 10 experience.
Attended with a large group. Very good food relaxed atmosphere. Good service. Great diverse korean menu
A little expensive but great food. Been going here for years and so many good things on their menu. Can't go wrong with the classic Tofu Bibimbap. And a good range of side dishes given. I wish the store was a little larger though, can get crowded with long wait times on some nights.
Had the stone pot pork bibimbap, it's yummy, especially when you mix it with the yolk and hot sauce. The meal came with side dishes as well, what is normally expected of, dining at Korean restaurants.
Was disappointed with the jajangmyeon, having tried authentic ones in Korean, this one seems a little different - see pic, the noodles are white and much thinner.
The noodles are not the fresh handmade yellow udon I am familiar with based on my past experiences having jajangmyeon, hence the disappointment. The sauce was average too.
Otherwise, the other dishes coming out of the kitchen smells delicious, perhaps there were other yummy dishes that we did not order.
Visited on a Wednesday night!
Friendly service and staff
Quick to get our dishes
Ordered vegetarian kimchi stew
Vegetable croquettes
Sizzling vegetables
Which were all perfect!
We also ordered a beef ribs stew which was good but tasted too much of pepper which was unfortunate.
But would definitely come again
The food was terrible. Prices are so expensive, specially for hotpot are shocky. Not even fine dining would charge over $50, especially when the food quality is so bad. There were flies around on tables.
1. Pork kimchi stew - 4/5
2. Boneless Fried chicken - 3/5
- it’s like fried sliced chicken
3. Bimbibab chicken with spicy sauce - 5/5
- it’s really good. Worth a try
Glad that we found this hidden gem in Glen Waverley area. Small restaurant but friendly and welcoming environment. Price was reasonable and food was great.
Good Service. Amazing food. Come hungry and on weekdays preferrably. This place gets packed fast
Service is excellent, the food is superb
It's a bit small and lot's of customer. I'm looking forward to see this restaurant expand.
