My son has only been at kids @ Max a short time but my wife and I are extremely happy with the staff looking after our boy
Especially speech therapist Bella.
We are expecting our boy to thrive under their guidance.
Thanks kids @ Max keep up the good work

This is what happened to us with Kids at Max.
We had been waiting for 10 months to get a speech therapy session for our son.
Our first session was in April this year (45 minutes).
The follow up session was 2 weeks later.
I felt the way she conducted herself wasn’t professional.
The following next 3 sessions were cancelled without explanation.
I understand people get sick and accidents happen however 3 sessions in a row is inexcusable, especially without any explanation.
So our missed 1 and a half months without any therapy.
She came to the school to observe our son for 1 hour in the class environment.
From that she said that he needed a lot of work and that there was a long way to go.
She told me she was going to make a plan to help him.
In the next couple of days we received an email saying that they were discharging our son from their facility.
So we basically wasted a year in trying to get help for our son only to be told that they couldn’t help us.
I gave my one star review based on the service we received from Kids at Max.
The following day I received a phone call from the director asking me to remove the review.
He said I had 24 hours to remove the one star review otherwise he would put on an official comment.
He mentioned in his comment regarding Korean therapy, but we never discussed anything regarding Korean therapy.
So here is my official comment about my experience with Kids at Max.

To say my experience at Kids At Max was disappointing would be a gross understatement. If you are thinking of engaging this service I strongly recommend you request a full and transparent list of costs and inclusions. If you do your research I’m sure you’ll agree with me that there are far better value for money providers out there. I made an appointment because of concern regarding my two year old son’s sensory processing, and was told the cost of initial assessment and diagnosis was $197. Not the case, for that, and a report and an appointment to review the results I would have to pay over $1000! The $197 bought me a ten minute discussion (led by myself, with no in-depth questioning from the therapist) and an opportunity for my son to play with a shape sorter, hardly age appropriate, and some blocks. I have since been recommended to go through the council services, had an hour long teleinterview where I was asked countless questions spanning across my entire child’s lifespan from pregnancy to now, and then sent the assessment diagnosis questionnaire to complete before our first in person appointment. Subsequent to that initial assessment my son has been recommended for both OT and Speech. Oh and the cost, $10-92 depending on your circumstances, and the report $50. The director of Kids At Max said he would reduce the fee to $100, ostensibly out of the goodness of his heart, but repeatedly said the service is not free. I am more than happy to pay for a service to support the needs of my child, I just don’t believe any service was provided. Another thing you might want to consider, the rooms are through a corridor with small steps, then up a flight of stairs and then more small steps, with no lift, hardly pram or wheelchair friendly! Our kids are important and deserve our commitment but we work hard for our dollars and our dollars should be spent on effective therapies.

**Response to your reply:
Firstly; wow…
Secondly;
- The consent form outlined $197, no other costs were listed
- I booked an assessment not just a consultation
- I was aware there were fees for private practices as I have a private paediatrician for both my children. Your fees were not accurately explained/outlined in writing and over the phone and I am happy to pay a fee when I receive an actual service (I did pay you the $100!)
- Re: the stairs I had just had surgery and asked the receptionist if there was a lift because a) I couldn’t lift my child up the stairs and b) I could barely walk up the stairs and I was not offered an alternative room downstairs.
Lastly;
I will be sharing photographic evidence of your first review.nice edit by the way!

I highly recommend Kids At Max. Their administration team are extremely professional, caring and helpful. My son has a team of highly experienced therapists, that are extremely supportive in helping him achieve his goals. They deliver a customised approach, which is suited to his needs. I have no hesitation in recommending their services.

I've had good experience with OT, Alexandra and SP, Erin.
I believe they try their best regardless of result.

We are very pleased with the therapy we receive from Kids at Max and love being part of the sessions as we get to see what they do and can work on the same stuff at home.

We have had a fantastic experience with Kids at Max and their psychologists. We have used their team for school visits and they were also with us during Covid. While you always should find someone who fits your child, I would definitely give Kids at Max a try.

The strategies for my son are always very encouraging and we find the instructions are easy to follow. Therapists are always going above and beyond and their warm, welcoming and fun approach to sessions has really helped his progress. Thank you to all the team!

A very poorly run organisation, unable to correctly enter Medicare Information, poor communication of changes, detrimental and poorly run Telehealth approach, don't respond to emails, barely answer the phone, therapists not reviewing NDIS plans. Would not recommend. Interesting that your reply was the most timely response I’ve had from your service in a year.

Our therapist always gives the best for my son and her understanding of what to do is excellent. My child had an immediate liking with her as she made the sessions so fun for him even over Telehealth. This year has been harder than most but the help we have received is amazing.

Amazing collaborative therapists, working across a few therapists and the team at Kids at Max working directly with the school. My son has been able to get an inter grated therapy guided plan at school. Evelyn and Dayna have been amazing advocates for my son. Always answering questions via email outside of therapy set times to ensure my son had timely interventions and support.

Read the post below as well!

When I called to make an appointment, I explained that we were looking for a new speech pathologist as our current provider only had afternoon appointments and advised what days I was available.

I waited several weeks for an appointment in July. After the session, the Speech Therapist suggested a fortnightly appointment. After checking her calendar she advised that she wasn’t free until September (besides another free appointment the following week).

I’m confused why we were given an appointment when the speech therapist isn’t available to continue with any regular treatment and it seems like we were used to fill in holiday free appointment slots. The appointment is $165 and will add no value if cannot continue with the suggested treatment.

I EXPRESSED MY DISSAPOINTMENT. THE RESPONSE WAS TO GO ON A WAITLIST AND WAIT FOR A CANCELLATION. THEY SHOW NO VALUE FOR TIME OR MONEY AND CLEARLY DON’T CARE ABOUT MY CHILD AND THEIR ACTUAL NEEDS.

Kids at Max are a money hungry business! The therapists are lovely but given little time to prepare sessions or work towards goals (which is vital for NDIS). Also if you see a number of different therapists there, they do NOT liaise with each other about your child’s progress. The only therapist we liked there ended up resigning due to being over worked. I’m only sorry we wasted 4 months of my sons precious time there!
