Kerrisdale Mountain Railway and Museum reviews
29SO GOOD! The train ride was perfect. The demonstrations and museum were the icing on the cake. We will be back!
Train ride along the hillside with great views, kids loved it, it’s great value for money. It also has the best display of steam engines I’ve seen, with everything in excellent clean working order, and Andrew who has built everything with his wife explains how everything works etc. He also has great knowledge of the history of the area. We shall visit again one day!
What an amazing couple, Andrew and Jennifer are! Smiles and a wealth of knowledge between these two lovely hosts. The railway is amazing and the artifacts they have in the museum are superb. Working steam engines will delight every visitor. My only fear is that one visit wont be enough. Definitely put this on your must-do list.
It’s pretty amazing museum plus mountain ride. My son absolutely loved it and so did we. The hosts are out of this world because they did an outstanding job and have real passion for this business. I’m so glad they allow people to enjoy and experience this rail. Very well priced.
First visit today and won't be the last. Privately run narrow gauge railway. Excellent customer service and beautiful views. Everyone who visits will definitely learn something about the area.
What a truly amazing place. Working steam engines of all sorts and sizes lovingly restored and in immaculate condition. A perfect museum.
And then Douglas, built from scratch and the pride of the exhibits, which steams on special occasions.
Andrew is an amazing mechanical engineer with so much knowledge which must be passed on to future generations.
This visit was a highlight of a weekend away. A lot of love and hard work has been poured into this museum and little railway. We loved the history, the passion and the ride up the mountain. Highly recommend!?
This is my third time to Kerrisdale and the experience just keeps getting better. Superb steam engine hauls the train up the mountain with just amazing views. Everything is fantastically presented and hosts Andrew and Jennifer are wonderful.
You need to update your times. We drove 2 hours to take our son to this, it states you close at 3pm we arrived at 1pm for you to tell us you are closed. Rides only at 11-12 this needs to be stated on the internet. Very disappointing
Visited this great little railway on our way to the snow.
Is obviously a work of love for the owners and shows in the quality of the displays.
Allowed our son to ride on the loco and made his holiday!
Loved the experience. A day well spent. Lots of history and information. This attraction should keep going.
Hidden gem! Lovely views and the owners are so knowledgeable. Perfect for a Mother’s Day outing with our little one
Absolutely worth your time to come and visit such a marvel and labour of love.
There is so much to visit and learn about here, while the owners are very friendly and bend over backwards to accommodate your requirements. Bookings are essential to so that you are able to see all that is to offer.
Andrew and Jennifer are an amazing inspiring couple who have built a fun and informative experience. Look out for tons of steam technology, stories about the first settlers and a memorable day for kids of all ages.
My Husband being a Train enthusiast certainly was in his element here. This place is amazing its a credit to the Proprietors. We will certainly be paying them a visit next time we are in the area.
Interesting and informative display of working engines. Mountain railway worth the drive to Kerrisdale.
Lovely family run business. Andrew is so knowledgeable about the history of the Railway Museum and the surrounding areas. Such a wonderful way to spend your afternoon
Absolutely awesome people Andrew and Jennifer. Awesome scenery, train rides and full of historic information regarding trains, tools and other great pieces of equipment. Thanks for the experience and excellent customer service.
Highly recommended.
This was a very enjoyable experience a wealth of knowledge and history not to mention an incredible life's collection of steam engines and locomotive memorabilia.
A place with a lot of history and owners with a lot of knowledge, anyone with an appreciation of where we have come from regarding the industrial age will enjoy a visit here, the train ride was relaxing but and the demonstrations were great, and the engineering is next level
