Kaz's Knife and Kitchenware (Appointment Only) reviews
30 I purchased the Saiun Gyuto VG Damascus with Micarta handle 20cm for my daughters 21st. I am astonished how balanced this knife is, the weight and width of the handle is perfection with the blade. A seamless knife.
I also paid for express post and it arrived the next working day! Great service!
Bought a beautiful Gyuto from Kaz and attended one of his knife sharpening classes. Super informative and knowledgable to help me choose the right knife and was fantastic to learn how to sharpen it properly. Will be going back for more!
Kaz is a legend, all you need to know about knives and sharpening. I had a one on one stone sharpening class with him and it was fantastic, as a chef no one has ever explained the technique and ideas behind sharpening like Kaz did - I highly recommend!
Arigatou Kaz-san
Kaz and Balazs were extremely friendly and helpful, they assuisted me in buy my new forever knife and all in all was an amazing experience, would highly recommend anyone looking for any kind of professional grade/home cooking knife to visit Kaz-San
Specialized knife sales, hand sharpening and tutorials by a Japanese chef. Tiny little nook that came highly recommended and surpassed already high expectations. We’ll done Kaz.
I had a great experience buying a knife from Kaz. He was super helpful and taught me about the different types, and lots of other things.
Went in today, bought 3 knives, very, very happy with my selection Service was amazing, super informative, kind and supportive with decision making, excellent customer service and also very patient! I will definitely be buying more knives to add to my collection in the future. Thank you again Kaz for today!
Amazing knife shop in Melbourne, plenty of beautiful kitchen knives, and Taz is an amazing guy!
Stayed more than 2h, talking about knives and sharpening.
He sharpens knives for a small fee compared to his skills, teaches sharpening, and and sells everything for sharpening also
Amazing, highly recommend!
What a great experience! Travelled from Bendigo with my Daughter who has just landed herself an Apprentice Chef role. Knowledge second to none. Knew exactly what we needed, gave some options and then let her handle the knives and decide what was best for her.
Well worth the trip and now we have some great knives to start her journey with. Although I don't think this will be our last visit.by far. Thanks for the welcome and assistance.
Great professional advice, courteous service, very fast delivery (ordered knife set Tuesday afternoon, arrived Queensland hinterland Thursday morning), perfectly packed & knives look better in life than in pictures.
Thank you Hiroki - a pleasure doing business with you.
Thank you very much Kaz for the amazing lesson how to sharpen Japanese knives. Kaz was very thorough with his exploration into the different types of knives, steels and techniques and gave us a great beginners understanding of sharpening! Awesome shop, great products and teaching style. I would 100% recommend
Kaz was great, he fixed my blunt, bent, chipped and rusty knife. He also showed me how to look after my knife. I confidently recommend
Kaz's knife is arguably one of the best Japanese knife shop in Melbourne. I've participate the knife sharpening course and learnt so much from it. If you like Japanese knife but don't know where to start or even if you did know a bit about it, this is the place you want to go, Kaz will take care of you and help you make the right decision for your purchase. And this place is more than just somewhere you do purchase, if you have any questions about knife and sharpening, Kaz is always welcome for any sort of conversation or discussion about knife and stone's.
What a lovely experience:)
Kaz is very passionate about his line of work and its very present as soon as you walk into his store.
I walked in two days ago wanting to buy a new knife, not realising that I wasn't properly taking care of the knives that I already owned.
I think it's so easy to just give your knives to someone to get them sharpened but today, Kaz helped me develop a better relationship with my knives and instead taught me how to take care of them.
Not only does he sell beautifully made Japanese knives, but he offers his skills to help you maintain them at their highest quality.
Thanks Kaz, can't wait to come back for another class!
Beautiful knife and impressive service! I am so impressed with the service received. This was my first time purchasing from KAZ’s Knife and Kitchenware and I was late in ordering for the Christmas rush. Hiroki made a plan for me and I received my knife well befor Christmas. The knife itself is beautiful and the engraving even more so. Will definitely be a return customer.
Amazing knives! I bought a Sakai Jikko VG 10 Gyuto and a R2 HSS Wa Sujihiki, amazing edge retention and durability! Better part is Kaz himself recommended me this according to my budgets and needs, he's my only bladesmith moving forward!
Not a chef just wanted to get some quality knives that could cut better than the cheap supermarket ones I had. I was not disappointed! Not only are the knive beautiful, they cut exceedingly well, and even better? ! The service I got from Kaz, who's enthusiasm for everything knives (and whetstones) is infectious!
Visited from interstate, and dropped off my best knives to be sharpened. Service was fantastic and he took the time to discuss what I was after. Knives arrived home week later and they are incredible! By far the best sharpening service and quality I have received over last few years. Absolutely recommend.
Kaz is the master. Our beautiful knife from Kyoto had a massive chip from stupidly cutting frozen veg. I thought it was gone. Took it into Kaz who took it on as a personal project. He removed the chip, reshaped the knife and sharpened her good. It's good as new! Very reasonable price. Quick turnaround and passion for his craft. Thanks man!
Being a knife enthusiast myself felt like i was a kid in a candy store. Kaz was extremely friendly, informative and the whole experience felt very intimate. Highly recommended for other knife enthusiasts as Kaz was very willing to let me try out different knives. I ended up purchasing a rare knife from Kaz's and looking forward to expand my collection in the future with other pieces.
