Kawanku Chinese and Malaysian reviews
17We have eaten here a lot over the years, both eat in and take away. Always loved the food. Although it has become expensive.
Disappointing dinner. Usually on point, however tonight the quality of the food was average at best.
Chicken satay was more charcoal than chicken. Hopefully it's a one off.
We came from Boronia to dine last night with family who live quit local. Did not disappointment. Absolutely delicious meals and wonderful service. Will be going back for sure.
Omg. Been going here for 30 years and this place never changes, vegetarian nasi Goreng and the spicy chicken yummy.
Very disappointing. Ordered sweet and sour chicken in batter but guess what there is only batter, hardly taste the chicken. Expensive but not tasty. And also ordered chilli chicken which I regretted instantly once receive the food. Don’t waste your money in this restaurant.
We have been using Kawanku since 2001 when we lived in Lalor, they have always had great quality food and service. Thanks
Very disappointing will never go back satay chicken was that dry couldn't eat it sweet and sour chicken was terrible rice was very salty wasn't even hot absolutely disgusting. Makes me cross when you spend so much money on food and its absolutely terrible.
Rubbish food lady’s and gentlemen, keep driving and find something else worth spending your hard earned money. The Black Bean Noodles is what I ordered. Noodles where full of oil to be left on the lips, and hardly no taste. Very disappointed.
The most disgusting excuse for a restaurant I have ever encountered. The food is RUBBISH. The roti bread looked like it came out of a bin. The laksa tasted like dish water with soggy tofu and NO CHICKEN. So spicy it was inedible, despite requesting mild. DO NOT BUY FOOD FROM HERE! Horrible cr@p rubbish. Rice was dry and certainly not freshly cooked. I could knock someone out with the rock hard stale chicken skewers. I’m so angry that I was RIPPED off by this sh1tful excuse of a restaurant.
Excellent food and very economical.
Went to this restaurant to try out their crispy calamari and other Malaysian Chinese dishes and I was not disappointed.
Kawanku is a small restaurant out in the Northern suburbs of Melbourne, set on a strip of restaurants. It is frequented by many customers looking for tasty food and value for their money.
The food at Kawanku is down right tasty and its owner cum chef is at hand to cook your meal and serve it as well.
I was impressed with the crispy calamari as it was prepared to perfection. The charges are very reasonable and the portions are large. I highly recommend this restaurant. Go try the food and be impressed.
Really nice pleasent staff, but I love Fried Rice and they do have some Vegies in it but the Flavour is a bit bland, probably made more for something to fill up the plate.
Nothing Special I would of rated less but they do have nice Roti bread.
If I could give minus 3 stars I would.
Tried to place an order during the covid lockdown and was spoken to and treated with a clear lack of respect.
Ended up cancelling a $70+ order.
The food was not much to write home about so not much of a loss for us.
Very disappointed tonight ordered Mongolian chicken got Mongolian beef, ordered sweet barbecue pork with broccoli only got capsicum called and spoke to the lady she was so rude, talking over me anyway see ya won’t be coming back
Food has always been good over the last 8 years
Rice is yum and sweet and sour pork b is
I drive 20mins outta my way for the satay beef and fried rice. The lady who rins the show has been nothing but super lovely and welcoming for the last 15years! Dining in or out I say it deserves 5 star! But who am I to argue. I love your food so I will be back time and time again:)
Terrible value, tiny serves and cheap ingredients. Spoke to the owner she was aggressive and defensive. Save your money!
Satay chicken was extremely dry and tough. Sweet and sour pork sauce was basically pink colored water and not at all what you would expect for such a dish. Omelette was passable but the vegetables in it weren't thoroughly cooked enough. Most dishes were put inside paper bags instead of the bechmark plastic containers which I'm sure contributed to sucking the moisture out of the meals. Avoid.
