Katik Turkish Take Away reviews
44Giving one star Only for Mr. Boss’s stubbornness to not take less than 20 on card, which is utter nonsense considering Lamb Kebab is 10. I offered to get charged 50 cents or whatever surcharge as I know it costs small business to have Credit Card Payments. But Katik has good business and they should have a big heart for customers not act pity for such ridiculous restrictions. I drove 25 mins to get denied a meal because I don’t carry Cash and would not give in to GST evaders. Staff is respectful and I guess it’s the owner or Manager who has this mindless policy in place.
Mixed iskender. Perfect mix of meat sauce and bread. Box packed full or meat. Just enough bread to soak up every bit of delicious juice that drips down to the bottom. This place was packed at 3pm with a short 10min wait time whish is definitely worth it. Best Iskender I have had in a long time!
Best kebabs in the world right here at this place. No other restaurant is this packed every hour of the day except Katik. They deserve every customer, most delicious kebabs ive ever had.
Amazing adana, very nice and delicious, highly recommend, however keep in mind that they can get very busy and waiting times could be long.
Decent tables to eat in, but it can be loud.
Prices are good
Katik has the absolute best adana mix chicken, it is just amazing! The only issue is that they are closed on Sundays! C'mon don't do this to us!
Always been the go to for good and cheap Turkish Food. A must for anyone wanting an authentic Turkish feed.
Very disappointed. Waited 40 mts to hear the server call me in a derogatory term in Turkish to which his coworkers had a good laugh. Found it offensive and racist. Not going here again.
Cheap, tasty, unique, and convenient with kebabs starting from just 7$ they are must pick up you have to try if visiting Melbourne for a short tour or holiday. Not a fancy shop but kebab in their homemade bread or khobs is not to miss. They also have their award winning signature Adana which you shouldn't miss if visiting Katik.
Favourite destination for me and my family for best lamb wraps in Australia.
We order the wrap with no veggies or sauces just to enjoy the meat taste.
The bread adds to the experience.
It's been a while since I came to katik, it used to be my regular over bizzler.
We came in on Sat the 23rd and the shop was just packed.
We ordered two chicken doner kebabs.
You'd think being so busy the food would be hot. Unfortunately not, we opened up our kebabs 2 minutes down the road and the meat was Luke warm.
The quantity for $8 was good though, these things are about 12 inches long but thin and are filling.
They forgot the chilli sauce, if the meat was hot it would have been a better experience.
Front desk staff doing good job with customers Service and taking order pretty fast. That's what the stars are for.the taste, food quality.bad.meat has weird taste. Highly doubt i'll ever go back here again.
For a moment it felt like I was on a Turkish holiday. Would never expect this little shop to have such amazing food. Adana kebab was juicy, flavourful and smokey fresh off the grill. Bread was warm, soft with the right amount of chew to make it a perfect compliment. Dips: eggplant was nice and smokey and the tzatziki had chunks of cucumber and a refreshing way to balance the fat in the kebab. Even the salad was fresh and well seasoned. Vibe was lively and authentic. Definitely worth a trip across town
I can’t even begin to express how amazing these kebabs/Adanas are. Super fresh, super generous, packed full of flavour, and such amazing value for money. The place is so busy which tells you all you need to know, but service is quick and efficient. So glad I’ve found this place!
The Adana is a winner. The best Adana I personally have had was in Germany. Since then no Adana I have in Australia has come close, until I discovered Katik.
Full of flavour
Juicy
All for a price you will not find anywhere!
What can I say.probably best kebabs in Melbourne. I haven't tried every kebab joint in Melbourne, but I'd be keeping up towards the 50 mark of different kebab joints and this is the best ive had so far. Ilhan Sipiloglu, thank you for introducing me to this wonderful piece of heaven
Pretty good, $8 doners + kebabs and they're really tasty too, cant really beat that. Staff are great too. Better to take away, its pretty cramped inside. Just be careful parking around the side, the is literally the worst neighborhood in Melbourne! Some weirdos hang around behind the shops.
The best Adana kebab I've ever had. This location is extremely popular and busy. They are, however, swift with their service, and very efficient! You will have your Adana ready to eat in less than 10 minutes.
You can't go wrong with Katik's kebab. Chicken kebab is spot on and no pushing back on stuffing it's stuffed till max. Will try their Adana kebab next time. Always remember to order ahead if you are impatient like me.
Very nice food delicious tasting the people are very friendly with customers and prices are very low.
You know the food is delicious when the shop is busy! There is so much tasty lamb in my kebab! Totally worth the drive and the wait!
