Chris was rude and made a racist remark, do not waste time here with such awful customer service

I recently visited the Kathmandu DFO store and had a mixed experience. While the selection of jackets was great, the customer service was not up to par. One of the team members was extremely rude when I attempted to try on a jacket that had a lock on it. I understand the need to protect merchandise, but customers should be able to try on items without feeling belittled. It would be helpful if the store had dedicated staff members to assist with unlocking items for customers.

Despite this negative experience, the person at the checkout counter was polite and welcoming. She asked how our shopping experience was and provided good service. I appreciate her kindness and professionalism.

In the future, I suggest that the store treats customers with respect and kindness, regardless of how busy they may be. Customers are the backbone of any business, and it's important to make them feel valued. Overall, the Kathmandu DFO store has great merchandise, but the customer service could use some improvement.

Store had a great discount on. They will ask you to rate the store from 0 to 9 at the time of payment. I gave them 6 thinking 6 out of 9 was good. But the guy was upset and told me that 6 meant bad and asked me what was wrong with the store.

Isn't a direct factory outlet store supposed to be discounted stock or reduced prices? Kathmandu has unfortunately forgotten its humble kiwi roots and become an expensive fashion brand instead of an accessible camping gear shop. That's a shame.

Pretty poor that the parking is so expensive even after getting a 50% discount if you buy something in one of the stores. Other shopping centres give free parking if you buy something. No incentive to explore all the shops because of the exorbitant parking costs.

You know the products already. The staff is important here, they were very helpful and smiling on a sale day, that means a lot

The place is decently sized with good collections. May be bit smaller than the one in Elizabeth st. Unlike other stores, i see clearance items here throughout the year.

Of course one of the very best, as is everything at south Wharf. So you will not be disappointed! The parking looks expensive but if you buy something anywhere then it cuts the fee in half. Good to check them out.

The stores customer service becomes terrible after new or temporary manager took over. Team members are polite, But the temporary manager is arrogant and lier. When I visited the store on Sunday for advice regarding my faulty jacket temporarily manager advised me he is a team member and Manager working on the week days and requested me to visit on week day. Next week day I visited he claim he is the manger but he is only taking care as an acting manager for the DFO store. Not marking any sense than a lier.if you have any issue regarding the product best to visit other stores they are very helpful and professionals.

There are some good bargains. Some great and so not so.
Make sure you check the items and have tags removed before leaving the store.
Paper bags are 50c extra so BYO bag.

AMAZING customer service! Went in on the weekend to grab a few things for my daughters camp. A Canadian girl Cass helped us out. She helped us find everything we needed and knew so much about the products. She was kind, patient and funny. They had a great sale. Definitely worth the shop. I will be back again.

Went in and tried some shoes on. The shoes I wanted were on display, and they could only find one of the pair (the left shoe). The staff were very helpful and apologetic though and searched all the shoe boxes to try and find it and rang around other stores looking for stock. Excellent customer service.

Found the exact coat we were looking for. Well laid out shop. Plenty of stuff to choose from. Same prices as the other Kathmandu. Friendly staff. Wide Isles. Even though it was very busy we didn't have to wait long. Their gear is great perfect for travel and outdoors. #accessible #letsguide

Definitely DFO. Prices these days are more expensive relatively and while not cheap the gear is cheaper than the main store on Elizabeth street. Though I do agree the quality of gear is getting better. However I still watch for ykk zips and for general fit.

I'm a fan of Kathmandu but disappointed that their prices have gone up a LOT over the years. The outlet is ok but selection of items and sizes can be (very) limited. If you're lucky you can score a good deal. For better selection watch the sales at the bigger flagship stores in the city.
