Karkarook Park reviews
71It's a beautiful place to spend a nice evening with your lovely ones. Perfect for paddling
An amazing park for walks, picnics, and all out relaxing. Excellent for adults and children.
Big open space, walking or running track, beautiful wildlife and green spaces, a playground for children and those young at heart with nearby restrooms. I loved feeling the breeze and sun rays from the lookout platform
Large suburban park, popular for walkers, joggers and runners. Check out the 5km Parkrun every Saturday at 8am
Karkarook is a beautiful wetland, recreational space and a lovely place to just be. You can do a spot of fishing. Wildlife is abundant so it's a great spot for bird watching. There is a long and relatively wide track that is lovely for a nice relaxing walk or a run or bike ride if that is your delight. Large open grassed area for a picnic or to just sit and read a book. Plenty of space for children to run and play and to that end there is a playground for the kiddos. Barbecue areas and picnic tables. Toilets. Observation area which is perfect if you like to take photos. A number of parking bays along the road into the park which can fill quickly as it's such a beautiful place and seems to be very popular. I'll add photos after my next visit, stay tuned
Open air fresh invigorating surroundings with plenty of bird life. A walk, ride or run round here and we feel alive.
Beautiful spacious park with lots of under cover areas (trees and made sheltering). Great for picnics or walks.
It's a beautiful recreational and wetland area! There's a huge lake which is a good spot for a variety of recreational activities such as canoeing, kayaking, sailing, etc. It's also a good spot for fishing in the designated zones. The lake is surrounded by a large asphalt walking track which is ideal for walking, running and cycling. On the Warrigal Road side of the road there are trails that run through the wetlands which is a good spot for bird watching.
The park is perfect for picnic with family and friends. There are multiple open areas with barbecues and picnic tables. There's also a playground for the kids and public toilets. In addition, there's an observation tower that overlooks the lake which is a great spot for taking photos. The park is easily accessible and there's a parking area onsite. I highly recommend visiting this park!
Quite impressive! Family friendly environment with a huge lake and the water is very clear…Just remember to take away your rubbish with you since there’s no rubbish bin in the park.
A good place to take the kids. Walking tracks a lake playgrounds, wild rabbits, sufficient Wildlife to make you forget your are in suburbia
Plenty of free rotundas for parties and get-togethers as well as BBQ facilities, toilets, open grass for picnics, walking/cycling trails and bird-life.
Look good, but access around was a little difficult, reasonably clean, well laid out parking. Didn't get to use any amenities.
A nice park with plenty of lawns for picnics around a lake, and a pleasant walking / jogging trail.
It's a nice decent sized park to stop and have a picnic or go for a walk or bicycle. They have toilets as well. They have few covered areas where you can have a kids birthday party or catch up with friends. We went there on a sunny day and it was cool taking a walk around the water.
Great place to take the dog for a walk (on leash please) however, it can be very hard to get a car park on a weekend particularly around lunchtime. A great place to introduce puppies to joggers, cyclists, other dogs and even a horse or two at the RDA paddocks.
Beautiful park with walking path around the lake. Plenty of space and several pergolas for picnics. There are two carparks so keep driving to the next one if the first is full.
We stopped while driving by and had a pleasant walk around the lake stopping at the various jetties for a closer look. Quite a bit of bird life and some good picnic facilities.
Family friendly and great for picnics in the park near the lake. Walk or ride the track. Buzzing with people.
WATCH OUT: snakes
I visited Karkarook Park on Melbourne Cup last and this year. It's a lovely park you can chill and enjoy the peaceful scenery. However there are snakes. Try to get a table near the concrete walk route. If you dog walk in this park, keep your eyes on your dog without letting it to play freely in the grass
