A great addition to Footscray. I have been making little detours a couple of times a week to drop by to try the wide variety. The Ube is definitely one of my favourite in the country. The staff are pleasant and doesn’t mind you taste testing.
Unique.is a word one can rarely use these days when it comes to describing something new, but at Kariton Sorbetes I think "Unique" is fitting when it comes their dessert menu, flavours and even shop/store.if you're tired of the everyday choices when it comes to ice cream dessert flavours and styles then you have to come to Kariton Sorbetes, and see what happens when you fuse filipino dessert flavours and give them a unique and modern twist.the "Yemabon" is my personal favourite.
Unique asian inspired gelato that is close to our home. We never fail to visit at least once a month for our gelato fix. Some of our favourites are tofu soft serve, mango float, calamansi, soursop/guyabano. Also love the champorado 'choc top' and 'Sans Rival' cake.
Odd but incredible options. Favourite ones are Ube Halaya and Mango Float. Highly recommended.
Delicious and interesting Filipino inspired flavours. One thing - their ice cream melts quickly so you have to be quick!
Taste wise ai good but make sure they are not halal they have alcohol in some ice creams so please ask before you eat them
Cute Filipino gelateria with unique flavours. Enjoyed the apple pie ice-cream and tofu boba soft serve.
This place is so good! So many unique flavours and plenty of vegan options.definitely worth checking out
Partner and I love ice cream and gelato and this place is taking both flavours to the next level with the Phillo flavour touch. We had their ube ice cream and we went to another world. Highly recommended. They also have other dessert and lots of other flavours we want to try.
The shop location is 2 min walking distance from Footscray station. So you def could public transport here.
Oh, we keep coming back for their Pandan Ice cream! So good! Also, their Ube Ice cream!
Love their ice creams here remind me so much of home.:) thanks for bring home to Melbourne.
My new favourite ice cream place in Footscray! Unique ice cream tastes and delicious! Will have to recommend to all our friends They even do ice cream cakes!
The keso flavour is amazing omggg i didn't think cheese and ice cream would go together but it's literally the best thing i've ever tasted
Creamy, unique and godly flavoured ice cream! Our favourite will always be their decadent ube halaya but don’t skip the ube ice cream stick either - it will knock your socks off!
Woah. Talk about Flavour sensations.
Incredible. Peaches and cream was off it’s head.
Love the exotic flavours on offer. The gelato is also very creamy and tasty. Tohu soft serve is our favourite.
Really tasty and fresh ice cream and gelato. I especially liked that they had vegan and dairy free options!
The range of flavours are most definitely unique and oh so good. Good balance of flavours and interesting ingredients.
Don’t let the list of ingredients put you off (like fish sauce caramel - trust me, there’s nothing fishy about it). It’s most definitely worth a try and return over and over again.
ORDERED:
Ube Halaya: purple yam gelato, purple yam fudge, blackberry jam, roasted coconut curds ($6.58)
REVIEW:
Loved there's a Filipino ice cream place in Footscray. Not as packed as its city branch, the Footscray has more homely vibes. Would definitely recommend stopping by!
The Ube Halaya is a great flavour to start off with. If you're familiar with asian desserts, it's like a lighter version of taro so you're not stepping into waters too deep. Really appreciate how it's not just basic gelato with just its smooth consistency that you would get at Italian places. There's additional little elements e.g. The fudge, coconut curds that add texture into the scoop. So much more interesting!
I've learnt that Kariton is tagalog for "box" i.e. The box that the icecream comes in. It's a play on words that sounds really cool in english, but must sound so basic in tagalog hahaha.
