It has a good EV Automotive labs and staff and brand new facilities with modern building. But the staff should enhance the quality of subjects and materials and more organised with expanding the course period.

If I could give 0 I would. Very bad experience from one of the head teachers. Very unprofessional and received no support from day 1 whatsoever.

After Covid 19 lock down, stated that I was in a bad position and that I should be withdrawn. During Covid 19, practical classes could not be done, so I don't understand why they would not extend our practical classes so we can have more time to sit the practical classes but instead, they just said I should withdraw the course. We need more better teachers that this Kangan!

If you want to obtain a industry license, I recommend not wasting your time at Kangan. Go elsewhere.

I started looking into a community services diploma at Kangan (Broadmeadows) at the end of 2019. I was super excited as it was what I’ve been wanting to do and super close to where I live. I did all the testing, the information session and everything else I needed to do the only thing left for me to do was pay. The people in charge of this course then decided I wasn’t able to do partake in it after making up three different excuses. I kept on top of emailing them and eventually they ended up ignoring my emails. Definitely do not recommend studying here. If this was only during the process of enrolling I can’t imagine actually being apart of a course. I am very disappointed and will be looking elsewhere.

During my time at Kangan, i found the attitude of the staff rude, arrogant and Incompotent. Classes were overcrowded, most of the equipment was broken. The pdfs that i was made to read are outdated. You are made to wait hours at a time just for a teacher to check your work and the whole place in general is highly disorganised which results in you getting very little work done. The list goes on and on. This place is the worst learning facility i have ever been to and i do not recomend this school to anyone. I am now studying at a place far superior to this sorry excuse for a school and i suggest that other students do the same.

I am a Broadmeadows campus online student and I would not recommend this Tafe. I am still enrolled in the course but have also enrolled at Swinburne online and there is a huge difference. At Kangan enrolling can take months, even re-enrolling after each semester is all rushed and last minute. If you have any issues in admin also expect to wait months in one case a year for me. I think the teachers are part of the admin team which seems to suggest they are very understaffed. Teachers will reply to course work related emails though. The course content is lacking so much, can't say I am learning much. There is no interaction in the forums, no discussions, no live online classes just zero interactions and all you can expect is a bunch of links, questions, quizzes, and an assignment that you need to guide yourself through by using the information on links. If you are not self motivated don't even think about joining. Swinburne offers the best enrolment process, you can do it yourself as well as withdraw from units yourself from the portal. No contact with admin required. Swinburne also offers weekly live classes (not compulsory) where you can get questions answered and interact with teachers and peers. All I can say is Kangan could learn a lot from Swinburne. I will continue my studies into Bachelor with Swinburne because of this.

Doesn't even deserve the 1 star. Extremely unorganised. All courses are done online on a system that is 10 years old and the information provided isn't correct. Many mistakes in the tests and information. Embarrassing and should be shut down

At the start of an apprenticeship. Facility good with good equipment. Problem is not enough teacher so u get held up. Bigger problem is the way they set the course out. Theory, prace then back to theory final then back to prac final. A lot of time wasted a lot of standing around waiting

Kangan is one of the best schools I have ever attended. Extremely good teachers, good facilities and a good environment to study.
From 2014 up till date, I have never ever regretted attending this school. LONG LIVE, KANGAN!

Waste of your time an money. Teachers are useless rather chat about rubbish then teach. Been told multiple times just too sit around an play on the pc even tho im ready for my assement an fairly confident. All the equipment is broken or been pulled apart too many times. The Computers they make you use are dinosaurs an struggle too load ms paint. Basically sit infront of computer reading cut an pasted text or watch videos that are cut an pasted from youtube half of them dont even work anymore. Stupid trick questions. Heaps of spelling mistakes. But hey they will teach you what the most common thing is 20 years ago.

This place is a joke

After the experience myself and a work colleague had trying to enroll for a tafe course with kangan neither of us would use them in future. They were unable to give either of us an indication of what days the course would be ran during the information night and we were told we would be called early the following week to let us know. 4 and a half week later (2 weeks prior to the start of the course) they contacted us, asking to book in to complete our enrollment and payment would be due immediately even though we still had not been told what days the course ran. It was explained to us that all students had to meet the required numeracy and literacy tests to begin the course so people do not enroll into courses that they do not have the ability to complete. During the application night i got a glimpse of the numeracy and literacy scores of the people present and half had not met the required scores. On the information night we were asked when we could pay, and were asked again in an e-mail. It is Quite obvious that Kangan simply wanted the money from the government for the free tafe courses. Study elsewhere.

Terrible place to do your trade school, half the equipment is broken not that you'll use them anyway. If you are in mainstream the teachers don't actually teach anything you'll just be reading pdfs on the computer by yourself.

Been trying to apply for a refund for over 2 months now. Keep getting the same line of "Someone will be right on it. " or "Don't worry it'll be handled soon" But nothing ever happened. This is a hopeless school and I highly recommend NOT to ever set foot or a dollar of your money in this institute

Do not study here, my teacher barely speaks English and we all have to actively translate conversation while trying to absorb information. Barely any practicals and the theory is just copy pasting a PowerPoint and uploading to a Moodle which barely works and doesn’t let you save and edit your work before submitting. Management is rude and strongly suggested I either defer and wait for a new teacher or just leave and get my money back so the concerns and problems I have raised with them will go away. Appauling behaviour from what I thought was a world class institute. NOT HAPPY

I’m an employer of a second year automotive apprentice. The way in which the staff conduct themselves leaves a lot to be desired.

The latest blunder happened two days ago when one of their teachers marked my apprentice as present even though he wasn’t there. This obviously raises some serious safety and organisational concerns. I was promised a phone call back to explain how that situation came to be, which didn’t happen.

Send your apprentices elsewhere. These guys are absolutely useless.

Have been trying to apply for a course for about a month now, no one answers the phones, no one replies to emails or even the Facebook page. Very unusual as normally when you type in your details to other places you get a phone call every 5 minutes but this place you get nothing. Can’t comment on what it’s like to study there because I can’t even get through to sign up to a course. I would avoid this place. I can’t imagine if you had a question how long it would take for someone to respond

Poor Service and the online work is like its from the 2000's.it takes weeks to mark the most basic work sheet. Only go with this place if you dont actually want to get the qualification.

My course was all over the place. Teachers didnt seem like they knew what was going on. Other courses seemed to take priority over ours. Did learn some basics but only because I actively pursued them. Was never sent my certificate, who knows if they ever processed my final assessment.
