24Very nice curry and breaky burger, it is very nice, but I may prefer the curry go with rice and the normal roti. Coconut roti is different but it more like a biscuit or toast than normal roti. The smoothie is nice but not great!
Kamu is a lovely cafe, the space is beautifully bright and spacious with lots of seating next to windows. The coffee and service was on point and the menu unique.
Owner was super chill and ok with giving me Milo hot chocolate instead of the one they suppose to display for sale thank you so much people may often forget conversation but never forget how you made them feel which was very kind of you
We visited Kamu on a quiet sunday afternoon. The cafe is very pretty with some tiny floral interiors on the walls which gives a very jovial vibe. There us plenty of seating and great menu options. The service was also very good and we enjoyed their breakfast options. Since it’s super close to our house so this is going to be our regular spot now.
Kamu is my new go to cafe! The food, beverages and service is sensational! The staff are always friendly and the cafe is a lovely design. Highly recommend their hot chocolate!
We have been coming here for awhile now and been through a few ‘frequent sippers’ cards so can finally comment publicly. Consistently good coffee and friendly service. Lankan fusion is a nice touch if you are too far from mum’s Sri Lankan home cooking.
Only disappointment is the panko prawn bao buns - tasteless and lacking enough protein compared to the chicken bao buns they used to do. My kids used to go here just for those. Will probably not go as often now because of this one change in the menu but don’t let that stop you.
Beautiful Cafe
First time today.
Lovely cafe, very well decked out and super clean
Staff are super efficient and friendly.
Best of all the food is fantastic.
Had the French toast, very yummy only $22.00
Coffee great too.
Definitely will be back
Had lunch at this place with a. Good friend of mine. Lovely food. Staff was lovely friendly n the place is in a very nice location. Andrew My Aussie friend ordered his meal coconut roti woth chicken curry n sambol n he finished the whole meal. I was surprised. One must try this place for sure. Gurantee you won’t be disappointed.
An absolute GEM of a cafe in Malvern East! Amazing staff, chic atmosphere, and most importantly, the food was incredible!
1000% recommend the Crab Benny and the Crab Kothu. Both were amazing and had a unique Sri Lankan twist making them like nothing we've had before.
They know what they’re doing when it comes to food, and you can tell making their customers happy is the main priority. We will be back for sure!
Great food and lovely staff that take great care of you! Try catching them when they run burger night for a special treat! Delicious
Got the special beef burger it was as small as a 50 cent coin for 20 dollars. Over priced low quality under staffed will not be returning
We had the bottomless brunch over the long weekend.the service was excellent, the cocktails were super and very happy with the choices available. I would’ve preferred the food selection to be from the main menu but nevertheless what I got was tasty. I will be back
Omg- yum!
It was difficult to choose what to order because there were so many delicious sounding dishes on the menu.
I settled on the Pulled Pork Benny and it was a winner. Beautifully presented, very tasty with a bit of heat (sriracha hollandaise) and perfectly filling for my tummy.
I also want to add that my latte was perfect - ideal temperature, creamy and smooth.
My first visit but definitely not my last.
We love our eggs, we love our butter; but most of all, we love each other!?
Top notch cafe to visit if you’re a Benny lover! Kamu‘s Pulled Pork and Crab Benny’s were the big winners here with their beautifully poached eggs and spicy, rich flavours - literally had us scraping our plate to get a kick of more flavour!
What we’d pass on next time? Probably the Stack of Fritters?
Definitely all the good stuff - however just a little too dense for our liking, very much comparable with pancake batter. Although slightly disappointing, this healthy dish may still be enjoyable for others as we are usually fans of lighter and much crispier fritters afterall
New place we found in Malvern East that serves fusion Sri Lankan Aust brunch n lunch. Decent coffees and food.
Only 2 of us in restaurant.still took 27 minutes to get food.
Kamu Brekkie missing both Chorizo and Haloumi.no price reduction.
Sorry for being unfaithful to Jake's (where food/service is fantastic.)
Sadly won't be visiting Kamu again.
Hazel and Gran.
Second time dining at Kamu and unfortunately the experience wasn’t as good as the first. First of all, the crab kottu that a few of us wanted to order was unavailable. Went for the pol roti instead and found that the accompanying chicken curry really lacked salt (for reference, I cook a lot of Sri Lankan cuisine). Also the matcha latte with coconut milk sounded better than it tasted, it was quite watery and the flavours just didn’t work together. The service was friendly but very, very slow. Hope the cafe will take this feedback on board but unfortunately I don’t think I’ll be returning.
Omg, delicious brekky food, Sri Lankan Pol Rotti with chicken curry and coconut Sambal was to die for. Breakfast with a difference. Gluten free options available, great range of juices. I am coming back to work my way through the benedict options
Fancy some mod Sri Lankan food for breakfast or lunch? If you prefer traditional, they do that too. Give this place a go. Food is good, as is the coffee.
Even though the food took a bit long to come, the atmosphere of the cafe was great. The services were friendly and the food was really good. The pol roti was delicious despite being slightly spicy. The sambol croissant was a bit sweet for a main though, probably don't need the syrup on the side. The fish pan rolls were interesting too. Overall we enjoyed our food here.
