Kaki Lima Foodtruck reviews
21Drove pass this food truck many time but hesitated to try and today we finally did because it is Christmas day and everywhere close. The foods were so good that we ate them all and forgot to take photos. Very flavourful! Will definitely come back!
If you like spicy food, you will love their volcano-crispy chicken rice. A small or large portion is your choice ;)
I don’t see many people at the food truck, so wasn’t sure how it would be. I’ve lived in the area for almost 2 years so thought to try it out finally. I’m happy I did, I got the butter chicken, and was expecting a saucy curry. But this was crispy, cheesy, and so delicious! Not what I expected, but so delicious!
Indonesian approved!
Just passing by and ended up buying a lamb fried rice for take away. Authentic Indonesian taste! Extremely aromatic, the lamb is really tender, rich in spices and herbs. Cooked freshly by order (not a frozen/refrigerated meal).
Asked for spicy one, it was spicy as in Indonesia! Other places adapted their spiciness to local tongue aka not spicy at all.
Plus generous amount of fried shallots (bawang goreng) on top! Will be more enjoyable if they include Indonesian cracker (kerupuk) as well.
The seller lady is nice and speaks Indonesian.
Went a couple times last year, was blown away by the flavour… but today was just sad. Super bland, my noodles was over cooked and soggy. My partners rice had no flavour. We basically just paid for chopped up no flavour little chicken pieces on rice and noodles… very hesitant to come back and pay for a flavourless dish. Was disappointed as it was my partners favourite spot to get a cheat meal
Smelled so good, the scent crawled up my nose into my brain. Got me droolin like a zombie. Hits the 9pm food craving!
Great tasty food! The owner is nice and staff is pleasant! Very close to indo street food. Will come again!
Excellent lunch, large servings, regular will be enough for most people.delicious food, will go back for more!
Love the food, the Rendang Chicken #1 is a must try. A big fan of Indonesian food. Wish the price was a tad bit lower. The food truck is parked in a spacious parking lot with access from both the main roads. Wish they could rethink about the location for easy access to people in south Melbourne.
Found this place by chance last night. Grilled chicken rendang. Sooo good. Lovely people & incredible value.
Been driving past this food truck for a while and finally stopped to check it out. Wow! Awesome Indonesian street food. The prices were reasonable and it sure beats the junk in Maccas across the road. Definitely worth a try.edit: 2nd visit. I tried the lamb fried rice with lots of chilli. I'm in love.so delicious
Kaki Lima is so good.
Pictures do not do it any justice. You need to try for yourself.
Small bowls roughly $11 and larger bowls for an extra $3, $14.
A number of flavours available. I went there with my partner 3 times within a week to try different bowl.
Definitely a must try. Cheap lunch and cheap dinner.
Great staffs, very friendly.
I would recommend!
Ordered the Crispy Chicken Rendang, Crazy Rice and K5 Crispy Chicken. Menu doesn’t give detail about what’s actually in the box, meals come with a lot of steamed rice. But flavours are amazing.
Wouldn’t recommend paying extra for sauces.
A pricey meal - for the amount we paid I expected more meat instead of so much steamed rice.
Good flavours & would recommend, just be careful of the price.
So tasty. Can’t wait to get back there to try the rest of the menu!
Just need to fix up the Liven app so that customers can pay through the app too, especially since we have bought Liven foodollars too. Either way will be back next time and hopefully no more issues with the payment app.
Seriously amazing food!
Please bring out more vegetarian options You guys are the best!
The food here is pretty disgusting. They put doritos in their so-called "fried rice" which isn't even fried rice - just some random bits of meat atop a bed of steamed rice. They also refused to honour liven as payment option. Won't be visiting again and definitely won't be recommending to anyone.
First time here even close to my place. One of the best Indo food I have tried. Nice staff as well. Now became my top local choice!
Food was ordinary for the price. I was also a bit annoyed that they didn't honour liven payments/discounts. From the other reviews, it seems like it has happened before. A little bit dodgy.
Best Indonesian street food ever. I always go there when I get a chance. Spicy food lover can order volcano chicken. Personally I like chicken cabe i jo qith chicken skin. Chicken sambal matha is also good. Their fried chicken is also special. A bit high in price may be but the taste make it worth. Staffs are very good. Less waiting period. But I really didn't like their Nasi Goreng.probably that is their only minus points. I recommend people to taste their food atleast once.
The food was delicious. Just minus things: no shade and stools to be provided for the customer to wait for the takeaway order.
