Jumbo Kebabs - Mitcham reviews
37 This kebab shop is not like before the prices are high and not worthed
And importantly it is not halal so muslims especially should avoid to eat from this place.
Thanks
Arguably Melbourne's best kebab shop. Friendly service, fresh ingredients, and your choice of kebab and contents. It is a take-away food shop, so while it is clean inside, it doesn't have a fine dining atmosphere. I prefer to eat my jumbo kebab on their pavement seating outside. Always wholesome and hearty and the perfect antidote to a chilly day.
I would argue that this is the BEST Jumbo Kebabs. I think there is 6 locations. Take from that what you will.
A really well kept atmosphere on hot and sunny days. Cold soft drinks that are ‘sugar’ or ‘no sugar’ are great, as well as the really great ‘fruit salad’ flavoured Turkish soft drink. They care more about good restaurant quality than popularity (though they are still popular). This has my certified ‘restricted dirty bulking diet’ tick of approval
This spot has been my late-night food haven for years, a reliable go-to whenever those midnight cravings come knocking. If you're here, you absolutely must try the snack pack – it's a game-changer.
Very nice customer service and foods been there few years now. Nice people. Meet Sam few times very Friendly will visit more for sure
The young lad at the counter with the glasses was very nice and should be getting a pay raise. The food was good
Thanks to the owner and the guy who worked on Sunday on sorting me out and delivering exceptional kebabs and chips. Keep up the great service thank you.
The only kebabs place to be around Mitcham/Forest Hill. For the same money, this is way better than Glenny kebabs, which I reviewed a few weeks ago. Good looking and tasty food, plentiful, bread, chips and a drink. Beats Glenny kebabs hands down. You want a solid food, Jumbo is the place to go!
They keep jacking up the prices for a handful of terrible mystery meat and chips, too expensive and ridiculous for a kebab shop. Not going back.
Fond memories of the HSP here prior to Covid. Was in the area and stopped in for a feed. We thought we’d get the platter for $28 as that would be more filling and a little more healthy than a HSP. It was ok but my good memories were slightly dashed. There are 3 dips to choose from (humus, tzatziki and chili), the bread was hot and fresh, the meat was minimal, the chips were a tiny serving and the salad was all lettuce. Ate at Tiba’s on Sydney Road last week where a platter cost $36 and had about 6 times the meat, you sat in a restaurant with a table cloth and were served by waiters - so I’m baffled as to how a takeaway shop next to the railway tracks in Mitcham can charge $28 for this. Some memories are best left as just that.
Ali's Jumbo Kebabs is a Melbourne institution. They've been serving great food for years. They are open 24/7 so if you get hungry at any odd time and need a bite, you can pop in.
Quick stop for a Kebab good reviews apparently.
Disappointed on the $15.50 deal Takeaway.
Chicken Kebab: just a little oily once removed foil. Chips tasted flowery. Drink perfect. No serviettes in take away brown bag why?
Usually the chips here are very good and have been for years but today was a very grim experience lmfao
Used to be a big fan of Ali's kebabs back in the day when he was in Doncaster in a servo. Unfortunately now, the standards have dropped. Meat is fairly dry and the taste just isn't there anymore. I've tried the Ringwood one too and that was worse. Not sure what's happened with the chain.
I ordered 2 Hsp and they delivered only 2 and I payed for all 3, then had to waste my time on refund and order again just because of their carelessness, moreover what they delivered was inadequate quantity of food and unhygenic packaging, staff should look forward to these issues.
Best kebab in melbourne is all ali’s jumbo kebab.ali (the owner) is a true gentleman and has the best customer service.i’ve known him in person for nearly 20 years and he has always been professional.i highly recommend his food.thanks
Seriously, how hard is it to make a chicken kebab!
I ordered a chicken kebab with cooked onions cheese and chilli. I got a lamb one without my extras I asked for!
Then I called and the unintelligent person that took my call said that he made me a chicken. And wouldn’t even listen.
I don’t care if you’re busy, it’s not hard to make what is asked for!
Neither myself or anyone from my workplace will return here.
It’s not hard to apologise when you make a mistake, don’t argue with the customer and tell them what you claim to have made…. I know what chicken tastes like. I also know what cold lamb tastes like.
Been going here for years. Lovely staff and owner. Will go out of their way to bring the food to the car if they see you have young kids.
I must say very DISAPPOINTING!
First time customer an last time also, there was no taste in the kebab it was washed with garlic sauce and chilli sauce, the salad wasn't fresh looked like it was in the freezer for over a week, the chips were half soggy an to top it off had to wait over 20mins an the quality was still very disappointing.
I'd highly recommend the owners to have a look into there quality an service they provide. I only went to this shop cause the reviews looked good, but the reviews an food I purchased were misleading.
