JollyGood Diner reviews
14I’ve been wanting to come here for a while now and it did not disappoint! I had to go with the French dip and it was awesome. Can’t wait to get back again.
The French onion dip was delicious. I thought it was going to be salty but nope…. It was a perfect compliment to the roast beef sandwich. The New York deli sandwich was fantastic and the lettuce heart salad was a refreshing side for us.
Coming back to try more.
Thank you to the staff for the service and a very enjoyable meal.
Jollygood is a decent addition in Melbourne's limited collection of diners, but one that perhaps fails to meet the classical diner appeal - with a focus more on sandwiches than coffee, breakfast, and milkshakes.
To that end, if you are expecting something more akin to a Operator Diner in terms of vibes and menu, you may be left slightly disappointed. But for chips, sangas, burgers its definitely almost good, just not sure if jolly-good.
Their special was the best damn hotdog I've had in this town. Absolutely dreamy dawg. And actually reasonably priced compared to what I'd pay for the average sando these days. I'm a sucker for the American Diner vibe, right down to the freshly made pie (like being in Twin Peaks, with a damn fine cup of coffee). The great thing about it being part of the hotel? Open from breakfast til late late laaate, from your morning pancakes to end-of-the-night burger and beer (or cocktail). This absolutely fills a big part of the void in my life from not being able to afford an American road trip in 2024 and stop at every roadside diner along the way. Coffee's better, too.
Friendly service, i ordered the roast beef sanga with french dip gravy, the sandwich was good but i felt the mustard too strong, maybe a lighter mustard or less amount to put in, as it over powered every-bite, as the roast beef was cold it would be nice if there was an option to toast the sandwich, unfortunately i found a hair in my sanga, didn't make a fuss about it, the gravy dip was on point.
Cheese toastie with pickles dipped in gravy.gooood! Shared cherry pie, apple pie and key lime pie. VERY good! Huge difficulty choosing what to eat. Will have to go back and work our way through the menu. Gorgeous staff too
The most convincing plant-based cheeseburger I’ve ever had! Juicy and tangy with a pillowy soft brioche bun. The chips were tasty but a little over seasoned and noticeably, unevenly dispersed. It wasn’t busy when we went but at times, it was challenging to get service attention (especially water) and we ended up getting our own cutlery etc. Friendly team though. It’s new so a few kinks will probs be ironed out.
Only a 3 because the beef patties were heavily salted. I’m a major lover of salt but this was a step too far for me. I’m assuming this was an error in the kitchen as have only heard fab things. Defo be back to try again.
This place is insanely good. Primo sandwiches, immaculate vibes. Can’t wait to come back and try the burgs and pancakes.
This was the club sandwich - massive serve, great value. The maple bacon is top notch
Worth every cent, every time.
As accommodating as they could be, amazing product, lovely staff.so good i bought a hat.
If you're in Collingwood and have a craving for a mouth-watering sandwich, JollyGood Diner is definitely worth a visit.
I opted for the roast beef sandwich, served with a side of dipping gravy, and was pleasantly surprised by the culinary delight that greeted me. The sandwich was a masterpiece of tender, juicy roast beef slices perfectly complemented by a French style rich, flavorful gravy that elevated the entire experience. It was clear that the ingredients and the bread were fresh, and the care put into its preparation was evident in every bite.
Just be prepared for a lively, energetic environment, especially during peak hours. The food is a delightful experience, but the acoustics make conversations difficult and may not suit all preferences.
A very melbourne twist on an American diner. Staff were very inviting and attentive. Burger was elevated with curry ketchup and good quality pickles. Roast beef melt sanga was fresh and had a solid amount of beef. Good cup of batch brew with supreme beans. All up good spot for locals but wouldn’t travel too far out of the way to check it out.
Easily one of the best burgers I’ve had in Melbourne. The Good Burger was juicy, zingy, had crispy bacon and the perfect sauce. The smash burger was also incredible. Get yourself a little Arnold Palmer to wash it down too.
God Tier.
