Johnny Boys Pizza

There are about 5 pizza shops local to us and we have tried them all. Johnny Boys Ferntree Gully is by far the best! The pizzas are always hot and fresh, never greasy, full of flavour and just the way I like it! My fav is the BBQ chicken with pineapple, the kids love the BBQ meat lovers and my eldest loves the Satay Chicken pizza.so good. It’s also an added bonus that the staff are awesome too. Always lovely and cheerful whenever I go in

Order delayed several times, pizza arrived cold and undercooked. Given number of pizza joints in area would expect a little more effort to deliver quality product on time. Will never go back.

These pizzas are the best in town by far. Especially their Nutella pizza I can't get enough. Would definitely recommend.

Standards seem to have fallen and prices risen! Staff are disinterested and the food handling hygiene leaves a lot to be desired.

Ordered pizza after going to Woolies - very little flavour.
I ordered Johnny Special Lot and found it to be so lacking in flavour I thought I was eating the box. Very similar to a $4 frozen pizza. Not sure how there are so many reviews saying it is good pizza. Very odd considering licking the road would be a better flavour.

I’ve had pizza from here twice. I waited a few months in between, but with the same result. From what I have tasted it appears as if the ingredients are the cheaper kind you would expect from a $5 pizza? For example, if I make a home pizza I will buy Don salami. I will buy ham that is at least medium quality. Bacon has lots of flavour, as everyone knows. Unfortunately, your pizza there was no bacon flavour. The capsicum should have a bit of tangy sweetness. A real capsicum from even the supermarket has this - try it and compare and you should see the difference. Mushrooms have an earthy smell and taste. There was no taste of mushroom at all on your pizza. Your red sauce was ok, could be better. It had a little tomato tang. I noticed another of your customers said there was no tomato base flavour and no bread base flavour. These are not things I care about too much, but you may want to check that as well and compare to a place such as 400 gradi in Brunswick. Some people like strong olives, but I don’t mind either way. So all good on my end. I guess I expect more flavour from large pizzas priced $12+. If it was a $5-$7 pizza, then I would not have mentioned anything.
P. S. If you find the chicken doesn’t have enough flavour, I advise adding some 1 hour marinade - even just some veggie or chicken stock (the pizza I had did not have chicken, so this is FYI). Although generally good chicken will have flavour, but you may be restricted with cost.

The pizza was quite delectable. The girl who served me on the phone was very sweet and patient with me. Would highly recommend and will be returning for future purchases. <3

DONT ORDER THE SALAD! $10.90 for a small round tub of lettuce tomato and cucumber are you kidding? What a rort!

Delicious Pizza and Friendly staff, Wide Variety on their menu. Lots of toppings a nice base. Arguably the best in Melbourne

I've been ordering from Johnny Boys -Ferntree Gully for long time now and they remain the BEST in Melbourne. Their food is always fresh with large portions. Just ordered a Tabasco special - got it home and there was zero Tabasco sauce on it! A little disappointed - didn't even have the main ingredient!

Fantastic pizza with generous toppings and a perfect crust. Price is reasonable too! Melt in your mouth gnocchi is a must try! Can't wait to go back to Johnny Boys again!

What a hidden gem in Ferntree Gully! Perfect place to takeout after a long drive from Mt Dandenong or even a replenishment energy food from climbing the One Thousand Steps!

For those wanting the pizza, the crust packs a crunch with the middle part of the pizza inducing the softness of the dough. There is
also a variety of toppings to choose from. Recommend the Tandoori chicken, with the fresh spice and aroma enhancing the appetite!

Price is reasonable along with the fantastic customer service! The drive to Johnny Boys is worth it even though I live far.

Great pizzas. The garlic pizza is one of the best I have had and I always end up ordering it. Vegetarian pizza is great too. Friendly service.
