John Monash Science School reviews
4Some of your students are an absolute disgrace on the train - boys and girls included, wth their feet on seats, playing loud music on their phones and using foul language.
Top tier school for science students, the Year 10 electives have such a wide range its bigger than Australia. And those electives are derivatives from every science field u can think of.
If you are passionate about science then oh man this school is paradise for ya.
Curriculum - Harder than public schools because it is filled with smart students, but the teachers are so helpful that you cannot do bad if you study hard and pay attention well, unlike other selective schools, the teachers actually help you with every single thing, they reply to your help emails so freakin fast. They are always available and constantly working but still so MODEST.
Friendliness - No cap, this is the friendliest school I have seen, even an introvert has like 10 buddies here lol and everyone is so respectful and thank goodness the toilets are maintained well cuz this school does not have drug lords.
Extra curricular - This school actually has a good level of extra curricular, there is arts and craft, gym, cricket, badminton, olympiad preparation and what not. They have clubs like plastic oceans, film making etc.
Electives - As I said earlier, really good variety of electives, all electives are derived from Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Computer Science. Trust me its amazing.
Humanities and English - JMSS surprisingly does well in these things although being a science school, subjects like economics, issues studies, history, politics etc are well taught and the teachers are pretty enthusiastic. And well it comes to English, Mr. Anderson can carry everyone, he is like the smartest person for english and he makes it feel like its really important which is good, in year 10 we already develop like VCE level English skills lmao.
Overall, trust me you will NEVER regret your decision to join John Monash Science School.
P. S - In Year 10 they allow you to do Methods 1/2, Advanced Chem and Physics 1/2, but for gods sake if you arent a genius in physics dont go to physics 1/2 its hellish lol
Has a great work experience program, I went to a hospital and helped a surgeon and talked to him about his job and really inspired me to become one.
