After looking all around Melbourne’s stores and shopping Centres for a leather bag, we decided to go and have a look at the Queen Victoria Market not knowing what to find.

We came across this JLP leather bag outlet and was impressed with the rugged leather & bag styles that were on offer. Spoke with the owner Mino who was knowledgeable, helpful and we had a great chat with him and his wife Mira.

Settled on an amazing leather bag, great workmanship and detail in the bag. We were also happy to find out that it is Australian made.

We would suggest anyone looking for a great leather bag to check out this shop.

Keep up the good work guys highly recommended

My love of JLP produces began in Hanhdorf in South Australia in 2016 when I discovered the POLONA satchel and could not believe that such a magnificent piece of leather work could exist. I purchased it then came to Melbourne to see the Outback stall in the QVM. I was greeted my Mino who took may satchel and treated it with leather wax while I looked around in amazement at what I believe and now know to be some of the world's finest and most professionally crafted leather products. I purchased a BRITANNIA and a messenger bag. I was treated with so much welcome and respect. I returned recently in June to be greeted by Mira who was expecting me and the warmth and kindness of this woman made my day. She had the product I was after and her husband Mino had told her I was coming. When I took my BRITANNIA to London in 2017 a friend who woks at Christies Auctioneers in St James and who accompanied the Da Vinci Christ to be auctioned in NYC saw it and said it was one of the most beautiful things he ever saw!
Firstly let me say that I travel extensively in the UK and Europe, specifically doing most of my shopping in Piccadilly/St James in London, and the JLP products surpass many of the items I see there.
I would come home to Australia just to shop with JLP.
The craftsman and proprietor Mino and his wife Mira have been wonderful to me, I have never had a fault or damage to my products despite international travel every 3 months. I use leather wipes aftr each use and leather wax every month to feed and nurture the leather as Mino demonstrated on my first visit to their QVM stall.
I only wish more people knew about this magnificent Australian made product, and I shall certainly take great pride in showing off my bags wherever I go and telling those who ask where they came from. I should share links on my social media.
Beautiful products come from beautiful people with artistic and beautiful minds. Keep up the fine quality and craftsmanship Mino and Mira. You have made a great contribution to the crafts industry in Australia. I hope you become world famous, you deserve it!

The quality of these bags is amazing and they look great. However i'm only giving 3 stars as the customer service was really bad! If you were told your bag comes with a lifetime warranty, good luck with that! After emailing to inquire about this, they were very hostile and accused me of 'destroying my bag then demanding a new one'. My email to them was polite and they didn't even ask see a photo of the bag, I think they just wanted to get rid of me or shame me into not coming back to the store? I travel a lot and was really pleased with how it held up, but after 18 months a small hole wore through in the bottom and a buckle came off. Then eventually a strap broke and the lining started to tear. All of this is fine as I wore the bag everyday, but I thought their attitude was pretty weird and really rude, especially since their website encourages you to "let them be packed, carried and thrown around". I take care of my things and this was just normal wear and tear. I only paid so much money for my bag because I was told when I bought it that it would be repaired or replaced when it got too worn for me to use it.
