Called up to enquire about a warranty repair after I had not heard any news for 8 days after "I'll pass onto my manager and see what they say". I was careful to be extra nice and polite as it's tricky times yet Louise was very abrupt on the phone by interrupting me before I had finished speaking and seemed to take her frustrations with previous clients out on me (I was just asking for basic advice about if I myself could stem current damage). Without even asking for my name or any details, I was told that there are delays as they have to rebook cancelled bookings before mine due to lockdown restrictions. This is not entirely truthful - I checked government website afterwards - they have always been able to undertake my type of work/repair as it is actively causing further damage to the property. They can't even give me an approximate turn around time for when they can get back to me with whether they will even book an inspection let alone the inspection itself which I consider basic customer service.

2022 update.

Beware: Water leaks are rife (and have been for years) not only in our town house but in many others built by JG King in the same estate.

Also had a sink basin crazing (either from being incorrectly fitted or less likely a product fault) which we have been trying to get rectified for years for which we just get the brush off "oh we'll contact the supplier" and nothing ever comes from it.

Have just given up on any kind of care honestly.

The lack of careing is unbelievable. No one gets back to you.all we want is some compensation for a poorly built veranda it is nearly 12 months

I have water coming down my walls and the cornice covered in mould due to poor workmanship. Contacted JG King and was told my warranty has ended. Been in the home 7 years and 3 months. Warranty supposedly is 7 years. Totally inadequate for the cost of the home and the damage that has clearly been there from the very beginning.

Very very poor service and good in lieing all of staffs from ceo to floor staffs and maintenance person Trevor can lie under his teeth worst company doesn't like fixing things doesn't matter to them how many times you email all they want money,
We been asking them past 4 years to finish the job in return we were told to go and see DVDR

I would like to rate them 0 stars if I can. Very unreliable & dishonest. Never response back on enquiry or questions you may have. I am glad they are not building my home. Avoid!

I have reported the issue of cracked Barth tub October 2021.about my new home. Until 8 months JG KING Unable to fix the problem.at lease they not sending any feedback. I suspect this builder use second hand or factory reject materials
Second issue was my tenants has reported about.main bathroom toilet blocked and flooded. JGKING UNABALE to fix and i had to call a plumber to fix immediately
I am very disappointed about this builder.not recommended for any one to go with JGKING.

To anyone receiving the response "a work order has been issued" you are not alone. This is a tactic used to delay repairs. I rang the trade direct on many occasions and they do not have any record of my address. If you call JG King the lady will be very abrupt with you. My alfresco has been left without bricks for 2 months. Good luck to you all!

They don’t even deserve one star. Their staff is rude. Arrogant and unprofessional. So many mistakes in the house and cheap quality appliances and products they use only last for 2-3 years. Entrance door been replaced 2 times and still waiting for them to replace it again but never heard again from them. If you are heart patient then don’t sign up the contract with them because your house won’t be ready on time. Worst builder

Great people to deal with. Friendly staff. The building process is a bit backwards IMO. Signing off on Tender Variations prior to choosing tile colours leaves someone open to paying a $1500 variation fee if they change their mind on something previously chosen due to the choice of wall and/or floor tiles later on. Do your colour homework first to avoid this scenario.

I would rate JG King negative if there was an option. Don’t even bother to contact them for any work.
This builder is not good in any area.

- horrible building supervisor

They make you move from pillar to post.

Years will roll on but your job will not be completed.

Horrible organisation to build with. I have been waiting on them for 5years now to get these sorted and still counting. I get the same response every single time I asked. Now the house is in non-living condition after 5 years from built date.

“Work orders have been issued to trades. They will contact you to book access to undertake the works agreed to at your inspection”.

If anyone out there is experiencing the same problem. Please feel free to get in touch with me. I’m taking this matter to the authorities.

You'd want to hope there was change in management in the maintenance department before you decide to build with this company. The arrogance and rudeness towards their customers is incredible, incredible that they can keep getting houses signed on. Buyer beware if building with Jg King. I know I'm only one customer among the hundreds that they have a backlog on attempting to repair basic missing items 2.5 years on, but if I can deter one new home builder from signing with this company then my job is done.

My property is only 7 years old and has had multiple water leaks. This would be ok, if they honored the builders warranty but I have had no success getting leaks assessed or repaired. The Maintenance Coordinator (name withheld) keeps saying they have no control over the contractors schedule. Fair enough but it has been 2 years now. I have had to lodge a complaint to the Domestic Building Dispute Resolution Victoria (DBDRV) Very disapointing!

Dishonest, rude and generally terrible quality of building. Waiting for basic repairs almost a year later. Inspectors come without any equipment and will lie to your face to get out of doing the job

Horrible company to work with. Complete disregard for Australian Building standards.
Was told that our carpet is how it’s supposed to be. Nails can be felt on your feet when you walk upstairs

We were concerned about cracks above the bifold doors during the warranty period. JG King's maintenance person deemed the cracks as "category 1" which are not structural.
Now the bifold doors won't open due to sagging structure and JG Kings response is "the structural guarantee expired in 2019.
These issues are now an owner maintenance responsibility. "

Worst builder in the industry. Why do people keep going to them? Cos their sales people in their display homes are good at selling and helping. Once that process is over and done with, the stress and the disappointment will start piling up. 50 years structural guarantee, so what, I might not even be around for that long. Who cares about that.

I have to say it's getting extremely frustrating trying to get repairs done with JGking. There is absolutely no effort on JGKing to ensure customer satisfaction once you've got the keys. With JGKing YOU, the customer, have to do all the chasing when things need fixing. Customer engagement is all emails, no phone calls, no personal interaction, no follow up, no effort which is completely different when your at the stage of signing the contract. It's like once you've got the keys, all the responsibility falls on you when things need fixing.

Then there's the communicationn from JGKing, it is terrible. It doesn't take 7 days to review a request for faults with photos attached to an email, not unless there's so many requests from people having issues that the poor guys are snowed in.

With faults, be prepared for push back at every turn. A fault we reported with the carpet (rucking) was deemed to be caused by a desk chair. No, it's not, rucking is either a moisture problem or an installation fault, in either case it's not a manufacturing fault or caused by a desk chair AS THE MANUFACTURERS OWN DOCUMENTATION STATED. We still haven't heard back from JGKing on this issue and it's been going for 6+ months now.

Yeah have to say I wouldn't recommend JGKing based our experience, and it's the third house we've built where the other two were with Henley and Burbank respectively, and of the three, JGKing has been the worst experience.

Dont go anywhere near them, built 4 houses, all in dispute with VBA, roofs put omn wronh houses, elevations all wrong, engineering disgracefull, brickwork shoddy, and uncleaned, fascias crooked- when complained their response is that they have to have fall to get the water to go into downpipe, houses were unevenly painted but car next door was done, 4 of the 6 showers dont run water out the drain but it goes over the floor.
