The refurb pushed this gym to another level. The people and the vibe here are great. 10/10

I’ve been coming here for years, love this gym. It’s small but has everything you’d need. Shout out to Marc, he’s an awesome manager

Warning! Over a year ago i tried to cancel my membership due to covid but was told im unable to because i was unable to come in to the gym (due to lockdowns) i was told i can put my membership on a permanent suspension witch i did.since the start of 2021 JETTS gym have been stealing money out of my account without asking for my permission! Even thought it was upto me to decide when to commence payments (permanent suspension). When i called to bring the issue up and get the money they stole back, they told me the head office won’t reimburse me because they apparently sent an email that i didn’t receive saying that they are continuing payments even though i was on a permanent suspension, and for some reason i was now able to cancel my membership over the phone even though i was told im unable to do in the first place.this has happened to a few people i know. JETTS gym will scam you and steal your money.please stay away, there are plenty of other gyms who are professional and legitimate businesses.

I’m loving being back at Jetts Templestowe! Having access to Jetts at Home to help keep off the covid kilos has been great but not the same as hearing the buzz of the door open and getting on the weights again!
Great staff to keep you motivated and a great place to workout

During these COVID19 times, Ive definitely seen the ugly, greedy side of businesses and unfortunately Jetts Templestowe was one of them.

During lockdown, Gyms are NOT allowed to charge their customers freezing or holding fees as they do not have a service to provide (according to the ACCC). Jetts however has decided that they will go against that recommendation and continue charging all of their members, which will be seen as a store credit for when they return.
But this is not beneficial to us because my partner was not planning on returning to the gym once it reopened and after speaking with the Jetts Templestowe manager, they decided they will not be refunding these payments as we didnt "opt out", keep in mind the part of the email where it said we can opt out was right at the bottom of the email where it is SOOO easily missed, which I think is very convenient. You stated that you have “reduced my direct debit to $3.50 a week” however I am just a little confused because regardless of a response or not, payments while gyms are closed is not allowed? If you are not providing me with a service, you should not be charging your consumers.

I find this fine print is very misleading. This information has been obscured and hidden right at the bottom of the email, which is a very important part of the email. Why have you chosen to put this at the bottom of the email?
Why have you not chosen to ONLY take debits out of peoples account once you have received a response from them (the ethical way, in my opinion) ?

I think more of an effort should have been made PRIOR to taking these debits out. A non- response to an email is not a sufficient amount of confirmation in order to take money out of my partners account- Not a phone call, not a confirmation text message, just a discrete sentence right at the bottom of an email that is so easily missed.
We did not put in writing that we acknowledge and agree to this payment, so I am confused as to why you think it is acceptable to take a “no response” as my acknowledgment?

To be honest, we never thought Jetts would ever take direct debits out of our account without our full consent, which is why I never thought of reading your emails with a fine tooth comb.

After many back and forth emails, Jetts reluctantly gave my partner his refund after he mentioned advice from ACCC and other third parties. I am sure many people are in the same situation where they have been wrongfully charged and recommend getting advice from a third party.
I know many people who are at other gyms who DO NOT operate in this manner. It very sad, I recommend going elsewhere where you will have peace of mind that you are with a business that operates ethically.

Great little gym but since it is small there is a bit less equipment than the Doncaster and ringwood jetts
But overall a very nice place to work out

I love this gym the staff are very friendly and equipment new and clean. This jets i much better than Doncaster East Pines one where the staff are really rude and will kick you out if your forget to bring a towel.

I will take part responsibility here because I did arrive a little after the staffed times advertised but there’s a right way and a wrong way to deal with this when it comes to customer service. So I was standing at the locked door and I could see the fully uniformed staff member there chatting to his mate, so I knocked on the window. Ignored by staff member. Knocked again. Annoyed staff member made a cross sign with his arms – three times. Eventually (and furiously) he opened the door. ‘WE AREN'T STAFFED’. Bemused, looking at his Jetts shirt, I said oh ok I’m here to sign up though? 'Yeah Go online'. I told him I did go online, and I had received an email to come in. 'Yeah come back Monday'– door pulled closed before I could respond.
I’m thinking perhaps a change of shirt when the clock strikes knock-off time so passers-by (including potential members) aren’t thoroughly confused. I’m also thinking a change of attitude – this isn’t Jetstar, I’m not delaying 200 other people from getting to A to B because I have arrived a little late. But at the end of the day I would have been happy to come back on Monday if old mate didn’t have such a rude attitude. Congratulations on your business going so well that you don’t need any more members, even if that means stepping out of your comfort zone (and by comfort zone, I mean casually chatting to your mates) and signing up a new member.
A simple explanation of policy maybe, or even just a sympathetic smile would have been a better option. Consequently, I’m not a new member, I was just re-signing up so the amount of time to reinstate my membership would have taken less time than this unusual exchange. Best of luck, I guess my money will go elsewhere.
Working in the online space, I appreciate how annoying it is when people leave bad reviews however when it’s called for, it’s called for.
