Jardin Tan reviews
69In the late afternoon on 29 December 2023, we visited the botanic garden. I tried to buy an ice cream when passed through the shop because I got low blood sugar at the time (I have diabetes). My husband went on to join the queue to buy but was advised that the shop was closing. There were about 4 people in front of my husband waiting for ice creams. The waitress advised that they are the last group was to be serviced since the shop was closing. My husband explained to her that I got diabetes and I’ve got low blood sugar. My husband explained to the waitress what I need some food or sugar immediately otherwise it would be quite dangerous for my health. However, the waitress kept saying that the shop was closing. My husband tried to ask the guy who servicing the ice cream and explained to him that I got low blood sugar and we wanted to buy an ice cream. Still, the guy said the shop was closing and it would be unfair for the person who behind him if they allow him to buy an ice cream but do not allow the persons who behind him. If my husband wants to buy an ice cream, he needs to explain to the person who behind him that why he can buy an ice cream but they cannot. My husband was very disappointed. Considering my healthy and the urgency I need of some sugar at the time, my husband made his voice louder asking the guy if he cares about my health. The guy did not like my husband louder his voice and said “you do not need to make your voice like this”. My husband then explained to a couple behind him if they are happy that we can buy an ice cream and if they felt unfair that the shop would sell an ice cream to us but not them. The couple understood and has no problem. Finally I got an ice cream and my blood sugar level went back to normal. I understand that the shop was closing at the time. However, when my husband explained that I got diabetes and I’ve got low blood sugar, can the waitress or the guy consider our specific request at that specific time? I normally have some snacks in my bag, but unfortunately I did not put some in may bag in the morning when we got out. It was a very unhappy experience.
This cafe rests on the fact they are in a good location. Ordered a baby chino for my toddler. It was all milk and no froth and so hot it burnt her and she dropped it all. Coffee was also very hot.
The chairs were filthy and we ended up with food from previous patrons on our clothes.
Just want to say what an absolute wonderful experience we had at Jardin Tan on Sunday.
The food, service, hospitality and the ambiance was just first class. We will be recommending to all our friends.
Superb.
Thankyou.

We were informed chips were not available at 4: 15pm after we lined up. Please update your menu or put a sign up at the cashier.
Ordered from the kiosk outside. I had 2 small kids with me after visiting the children’s garden. A chicken and avocado wrap, sparkling water and hot chips. $24. Over 15 minutes wait for the wrap and the chips never came. I couldn’t bring up the chip issue as by this point the kids were losing it. Next time I’ll bring a picnic.
Wonder place with a comfortable and cozy atmosphere. The food was extremely flavourful and staff were calm and pleasant. Highly recommend.
Amazing food we ordered the chefs special surprise meal! And I highly recommend 10/10 would be definitely coming back! Good stuff as well.
The view is also stunning
Service was brilliant from when we first entered the restaurant. Not an extensive Menu but adequate. We had a lovely time.
Nice spot inside the gardens.
Don't leave it too late.
Good selection of food, drinks and ice-cream when we were there.
More formal inside area.
Outside casual cafe area as well.
Outside can get hot in the sun.
Delicious food in a calm and inviting environment. They have wonderful staff kindly that look after their customers.
We will definitely come back.
We came here for the High Tea and it was your typical tiny sandwiches, little cakes and scones, nothing groundbreaking really. Service was nice and friendly!

Tim was absolutely amazing! The best bartender I have ever had. So accommodating & helpful throughout the night. I could tell he was a manager before even asking him! He deserves a pay rise! What a great hospitality worker! Thanks so much for a great night tim!
Great coffee, amazing bacon and egg rolls. Their danishes were probably the best I had ever had! Mouth watering, sweet, flaky, delicious!
Went there to have a coffee as it was good when I visited the gardens in December. Today it was the worst coffee I've ever had. It was extremely hot and lacked flavour and body. Food was good but very overpriced given the 20% public holiday surcharge. So disappointed
Came here on a long weekend but the service quality is good. The staff worked so hard
They have a 20% surcharge for public holiday not too bad.
Quick coffee at the kiosk, food still
Another typical and bad Australian café. Too expensive VS every café in CBD. Bad coffee. Don't order a milkshake at this place. Unless you like warm
milk with chocolate powder.yes for this $7 joke you will get milke with powder. Don't waste your time and money in this unnecessary tourist trap
What a fantastic addition to the Botanical Gardens! I pre ordered a deluxe hamper and bubbly through Luxury Escapes for my hubby on Valentines.
Very romantic, all you need is a picnic blanket and your set. Highly recommended the food was perfect.
Went during the school holidays and in the middle of the day, had to wait in the sun for a bit to order.
Got tropical ice tea and the lemon lime and pineapple sorbet and both were very good, would definitely come back but either in the morning or afternoon
Impromptu drop in on a Wednesday afternoon on a stroll through the Tan; pleasantly surprised by the food and service. Staff were friendly and efficient and food and wine was good. We had the duck and sweet potato fritters, sticky lamb shoulder and pork neck with rice. Went down beautifully with a Rose. Loved all the fresh chillies and the spice was perfect. The lamb was a tad sweet but nice all the same.
