Great tutoring, all the teachers are really nice and I’ve learnt a lot from the two years I attended James an Werribee.

James An College Werribee is a go-to tuition centre for selective, scholarship or SEALP exams in my experience. After receiving an offer from Melbourne High School for Year 9 entry 2023, I can vouch for James an College Werribee as it played a pivotal role in my success in the exam. One of the most prominent features of James An College is the top-notch material which simulates the real exam. The weekly or fortnightly tests build students' pattern recognition and the regular practice pays off. I could feel myself improving consistently throughout my time being coached by them. Each week's tests were given results and feedback was provided on exactly which subjects students could improve on. The Connected Class Platform was a pivotal tool in ensuring that I could consistently practice tests that were often harder than the real exam. Mastering these tests meant that the real exam was much easier than expected. The feedback provided by the tutors for my writing each week had allowed me to consistently improve and correct my mistakes. All of the staff were kind and jovial, stimulating an optimistic learning environment. I personally spent a majority of my time with Shashi, a mathematics tutor at the coaching college, and I can say that he and all the other staff there really helped me master my skills and achieve my dreams and ambitions. I owe my thanks to this dedicated coaching centre as I pursue a new stage of my schooling years.

They made two classes during 2019/2020. There was a class that was smaller than the other one. I was in the smaller class. The teacher (for us) specifically told us that the class wasn't going to make it into a selective high school and the other class had a higher chance. They told us that if you fall 7 times you get up 8 or something just to console us because they knew we had a low chance of getting in. It was one of the worst experiences I had and I strongly do not recommend going there. The teachers weren't passionate and energetic about what they were teaching. It's just test papers and exams and not really anything else to learn there. I got into Melbourne high straight after and recommend or INSIST finding tuition somewhere else (definitely Hendersons i have heard edukingdom is great aswell). (Sorry I wrote 2020 before, It must've been 2019 or close to the start of 2020 but my experience with JAC is mentioned above)

Most of the time (for TT8) they do not go over anything or try to explain it to the students in the class. They do not help with understanding the homework they expect us to do either. I would say it works for students who are already really smart at everything but for the most part James An College does not help at all. Several others have also said the same thing and that the questions they give you at JAC do not come up on the selective tests.

I wish they had the basic courtesy to get back to us despite our numerous phone calls.

We contacted them in March and they Made us wait till June, my daughter wrote an online test to get into their June intake. We didn’t try anywhere else hoping she would start the classes in June. But no one from James Ann is responding, neither are they answering our calls.

We have made the payments and after calling the pointcook office to collect books, we get to know there is no stock of books, its been repeating for almost all four sessions since last year, i wonder, are you running an educational institution or a charity, neither any communication on the stock of books.

Hi - My daughter studied in James An College Werribee and their coaching is excellent. Because of their excellent training, my daughter has got into Uni High Seal program in grade 7 in 2019 and now in Mac Robertson's Girls High school. Both the teachers (Javed & Sashi) provided great support and guidance with their excellent coaching to achieve this result. They are friendly and always motivate the students to achieve the highest outcome.
Thanks to Javed and Sashi for all their support, guidance & coaching provided to my daughter which helped her to achieve this result

James Ann Werribee has provided excellent services for me. Thanks to their resources and the teacher's commitment, I was able to receive enrolment offers from Camberwell Girls' Grammar, Ruyton Girls' School, John Monash Science School and Suzanne Cory High School. The teachers are very kind and provide great feedback. I feel that James Ann Werribee is a place that produces highly successful children.

Didnt teach me anything.material isnt that similar to select entry.edukingdom and hendersons helped me way more with getting into macrob.james an's material is hard but the questions that are hard are not at all similar to what would appear on the actual exam.having really hard stuff was good in helping clear up concepts and stuff tho.james an is ok but not the nicest place.edukingdom helps u more individually and hendersons is the best for select entry.

Unforntunately, I just saw your response now and I wasn't going to take i further but you have LIED as I only wanted maths but you said I had to get all 3 for my son!
I am lodging a VCAT complaint now.
Give this place a miss and save yourself money. Firstly, all my son needed was maths tuition but you're lumped with English and Science and my son didn't need help with these two subjects so you are paying for what you don't need.
Then they garantee in their brochure that homework is checked. Out of 21 individual lessons, my son only got his homework corrected once! He asked his scince teacher to go over hydrocarbons as an example, the teacher said yes but he never did. Then my son tells me that they are always on their mobiles. He has different teachers all the time.you have to also pay $750 up front for 10 weeks. I recommend finding one good teacher for an individual subject and pay as you go so when you do get ripped off as we have, you won't lose as much money.
He also failed his maths test after being with James An for 6 weeks; so what does this say about them? !
I'll be lodging a complaint with Consumer Affairs to get my money back!
